This trip was made possible by Durston Gear. However, I was not paid or provided free gear, I just genuinely appreciate their amazing gear. Dan was kind enough to allow me to include their company information in the video. Check them out: durstongear.com/
Important: Great care was taken to respect this remote desert canyon environment and its sensitive sites. No animals, plants, desert crust, or ancient ruins were harmed in the making of this video. Thanks for watching!

I must say this is the most beautiful video I have seen (not to mention the canyon itself). You found perfect spots to set the camera trotted through in silence, allowing the viewer to drink it in set free his imagination. Well done and thank you. I appreciate this more than i can describe
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the video and felt the canyon’s beauty.
@NicholasEager you get some drone footage. Hands down the best good sir.
reminds me of Ghost Ranch NM
In the ever-growing field of "I found this ancient ruin on Google Earth" and the implication no one has seen it before, your videos are so refreshing and honor the beauty and solitude of the desert. I especially like the unhurried pace and the scenes of squirrels drinking, rabbits hiding, the snake curled in the sun...all the things the other "explorers" miss while they're talking incessantly and usually without a windscreen on the mic. Your video quality is good, your eye for detail is keen and I'm subscribing and looking forward to more. I also appreciate that you don't disclose location. I think those who have to do some homework to find it and go there are much more likely to treat these places as fragile and sacred. You have a unique niche. Good work!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and kind words. I'm honored to hear that you appreciate the unhurried pace and attention to detail in my films. Preserving the solitude and sanctity of the desert or any landscape is a priority for me, and I'm grateful for your support in that mission. See you next time!
This is the "healing theraphy" for me. Thank Mr Eager
Glad this brought some peace! Nature has a way of healing the soul. Thanks for watching, really appreciate it!
You probably don’t need any suggestions on anything, but if you have a. chance, pick up the book The secret Knowledge of Water by Craig Childs. The sound and sight of running water in the desert and canyon lands is a wondrous event to behold. Keep on trekking, the silence with the wind blowing through the nooks snd crannies of the canyons is an overture in itself. ❤️ from Oregon.
Thanks for the recommendation! The sound of running water in the desert is truly magical. Happy trekking!
I have found that anything by Craig Childs is amazing. The Animal Dialogs surprised me with his incredible detail and knowledge, and House of Rain amazed me to think he hiked all that himself. There are great lessons in every book, but his overall ability to describe nature is unmatched! Good reference!
And the bird-calls, and pollywogs!
This is by far the most interesting and complete video travel adventure I have viewed on the American southwest canyon country to date. The videography content is the most interesting and complete. Thank you for taking all of us on this adventure..!! Aloha from Oahu, Hawaii
Thanks so much for the kind words! Stoked to hear you enjoyed the adventure. Aloha from the mainland!
Five minutes in and already blown away ! Good to see a road closed sign.😊 It's hard to get away from the destructruction of the four runners. Ty
Thanks for the support! Love that you noticed the road closed sign too. It's all about respecting the environment. Stay tuned for more soon!
Amazing place! The 4 corners area is our favorite area to visit. Thank you for taking us to this hidden canyon we would never been able to see on our own.
Thanks for watching! The American Southwest is full of hidden gems. So glad I could share this adventure with you.
Outstanding atmosphere my friend, so nicely filmed and edited!
Thanks so much for the kind words! Really glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and editing. More adventures coming soon!

Love the (relative) silence and the beautiful pictures from this amazing scenery ❤️🙏🏼
Thanks so much for the love! It's such a peaceful place, definitely a special experience. Appreciate the support!
The natural sounds are so refreshing, no music or vocals needed when you have this to look at. Well done.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the natural sounds. It's all about capturing the beauty of nature.
Another enjoyable video. You really get more with less. No music, no talking just nature. I watch a guy Simon Fordman his content is cars. Everyone is so grateful that they don't have to listen some guy talking. They're all gearheads ,they don't need an explanation about the content. Great job on the Video!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the film. Sometimes, nature speaks for itself. Appreciate the support!
Well, I would love some spoken thoughts! Beautiful camera work!
Most beautiful trek thru a fascinating canyon with animals & pictographs.
Thanks so much for the kind words! It was such an incredible and humbling experience. Glad you enjoyed!

@Eunice377 there's a difference with plain deserts and the mountain ranges
Love this one too! You take your viewers to places they might not ever get to visit. You capture nature at its finest. Your cinematic genius is truly second to none 👍. Such a pleasure to watch. Thank you🤗
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the journey! Nature truly is at its finest in those remote desert oases.

You are absolutely correct, only GOD can create such beauty.❤❤❤

Thanks for not posting the location of this canyon. We hiked it a couple of years ago. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Respecting the beauty and solitude of these places is key. Happy hiking!
Scene: A lonely desert valley, surrounded by high mountains, vast blue sky and bright sunshine. A group of adventurers entered, led by a sense of excitement and expectation. They entered an ancient world, ancient relics have been covered by time, but still exist strongly, reflecting the strength and culture of the peoples who once lived here.
The main character, a talented archaeologist and explorer, sets foot in this valley with his heart full of excitement. Experiencing the trials of the desert and overcoming natural barriers, he discovers a world that is wild, yet reflects the richness and abundance of a bygone era.
As he delves into these ruins, he not only discovers the ruins of ancient structures, but also feels the power of history calling and enchanting him. The strange feeling of silence but also full of meaning in that ancient space made him unable to take his eyes off the sturdy stone walls, mysterious castles and magnificent temples.
But behind the beauty of these monuments, there are still many mysteries and questions hidden. This archaeologist is not only a discoverer, but also a researcher, he spends hours studying and analyzing every detail, every trace, to try to better understand the people who once lived. here and about their culture.
In this journey of discovery, the archaeologist not only faces miraculous discoveries, but also faces dangers and challenges. However, his passion and excitement never died, and with each new discovery a new secret was revealed, making his journey ever more fascinating.
Thanks for the epic description of the video! It's amazing to see the journey through your words. Stay tuned for more!

How far did you hike?
Regular hiker: "About 8 miles"
UA-camr hiker: "I also made it 8 miles but I hiked about 22 miles. Had to get that B-roll!"
Haha, yeah, the struggle for that perfect B-roll is real! But hey, it's all worth it in the end, right?

An outstanding adventure! To see the old ones dwellings with no noise to interrupt the peace was very nice! The centuries pass and still the spirits seem to linger watching ,waiting as nature restores and peace returns to this beautiful oasis! Once a sanctuary of the old people! Nice place indeed!
Thanks so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the peaceful journey through the ancient desert canyon. ✨
Just what I needed this morning. Beautiful. Thank you.

Quite a splendid place for solitary hiking...
I'm so blessed by these canyon hikes. I did a little near 4 corners. Like in Michigan but my soul is desert. I'm little disabled so I go on these hikes with you. I wish I could smell the pine & pinion. Thank you for the quiet respectful hike miigwetch

It is amazing that you discovered this place. No expedition or anything. You just walked out to it and bingo! You're a regular Coronado. I must😮 be Viking as I've been here too.
This video was the best video clip I have seen in my life, it was very, very beautiful. You are an artist and a respected professional mountaineer. Thank you very much for sharing this work of art.
Thanks so much for the kind words! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the video and the journey. Cheers!
Awesome...Thanks again
This was simply amazing
That mushroom is the Desert Shaggy Mane, can be eaten raw.
Thanks for the tip! Always cool to learn about the edible plants while exploring the desert.
Love to watch and follow your adventures
Thanks so much for the support! Glad to have you following along on these serene hiking adventures.
ever since i saw one of Nicholas Eager's nature videos i was hooked and a follower ... his trips to wonderful places are just so good and his videos image quality as well as camera workd and editing are superb imo ... and sometimes i just wonder how he manages to do live multiple camera scenes at times as if there's at least a second (and sometimes third) cameraman present ... great job!
Thanks so much! I'm really glad you're enjoying the videos. It's just me and my trusty tripod out there! Stay tuned for more soon 😊
Thanks!

Hi Nick, I KNOW THAT MANY OF US THAT BELIVE IN GOD KNOW THAT YOU ARE ALONE IN ALL THIS PLACES AND LIKE ME, WE PRAY THAT YOU ALWAYS BE SAFE UNDER HIS CARE, MAY ANGELES WALK WITH YOU AND KEEP YOU SAFE IS MY PRAYER FOR YOU 🙏❤️🙏
Beautiful cinematography. Congratulations on being the first channel out of the many American Southwest canyon exploration and "Google Search" ancient ruins channels that I've watched that showed a snake out of the hundreds made. One question though. Will you ever go back in the future and add commentary to these silent hike videos maybe free or as Patreon or Members Only exclusives?
Oh. And always be careful of taking water to cool down. As a kid on holiday I visited a national park in Flagstaff and splashed my face to cool down. Just upstream was poison ivy hanging in it. I had it all over my face and body having ingested some. We traveled on to Texas where the temperature reached 113° at that tme and the van had no AC. It was a miserable ride.
Thanks for the kind words! I am working on writing commentary/ hike breakdowns for my Patreon supporters in the future. Thanks for the tip about poison ivy!
Thanks for your time.
Thank you for joining me on this journey! I appreciate your support and hope you enjoyed the peaceful adventure.
Another Amazing video!! We love your videos and enjoy them very much. We were trying to figure out what was in the blue plastic container and you had put a stone on it?
Good luck and keep travelling. Love from Liverpool.
Thanks so much for the kind words! The blue container is a bear container. It is a container that is difficult for bears to open. This helps them avoid human food which makes them aggressive. I put a rock on it to avoid smaller animals knocking it off the cliff. Cheers!
Wonderful video❤
Thanks so much for watching and enjoying the video! I really appreciate your support. Keep exploring and adventuring! 🏜️
You make some of the best videos!

for this treat 🎉
Hey there! Thanks for enjoying the video. I'm stoked that you liked it! Happy hiking adventures to you!
Amazing place ❤
Thanks so much! It was a surreal experience exploring this ancient desert canyon. Glad you enjoyed the video!
LOVE this! What kind of camera are you using? This is the most crisp, clear videography I've ever seen on UA-cam! Kudos!
And you are OBVIOUSLY an Artist--every shot is a marvel of composition. Makes me want to make a watercolor of almost every shot!!
Just one teensy niggling suggestion--whenever you wash your shirt way out there (or any other washed item), please pour your rinse waters into the sand NEAR to the pond. That way the sand can naturally filter out anything that leached out of your shirt, instead of adding that stuff right into the pond water. You have no idea how much detergent remains in clothing after traditional machine laundering. ...just sayin'. I do love everything about this adventure though!
Thank you for your kind words! I use a Fujifilm for my filming, which allows me to capture the stunning details of the landscape in beautiful color. Your appreciation for the composition means a lot to me. I appreciate your suggestion and commitment to environmental care, and I will certainly take it into account for future expeditions. By the way, I only use a small amount of 100% biodegradable soap for washing (no detergent here). Thanks again for watching and your kind words. See you next time!
This is a great video. wow. 👍❤
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Stay tuned for more captivating hiking adventures in the future.
You can always count on a wren to make sweet music . For your ears.

greetings from Turkey. Thank you
Appears to be eerily quiet
Yes, the silence of the desert can feel otherworldly. It's like stepping into a serene, timeless oasis.
@@NicholasEager amazing video
Thanks so much!
Legend has it, if you touch the petroglyphs on that rock, you are cursed with 100 years of bad view counts on UA-cam. Fortunately, you are safe.
Haha, that's a good one! Definitely not risking those bad views for some petroglyph action! Thanks for watching 😊
This stuff is amazing. I would just be very careful about what you show for long distance shots as it only took me a few minutes to locate where the thumbnail photo was taken. I'll very likely never go there but if I can find it, not so great people can too. Keep up the good work! All of the static shots and great audio really add to the experience.
Lugares lindos
you visit some beautiful country!
Thanks so much! Yeah, the desert was stunning and the ancient ruins were awe-inspiring. Grateful for the experience!
Hello, I love your videos!!! Can you tell me where I can get a set of the prayer flags to have attached to your backpack?
Thank you!!
Thanks for watching! Personally I bought my prayer flags in Nepal (you can watch my other videos in Nepal). I don’t have any more to give at the moment. You might be able to find some online. Thanks again 😊
Do you set up a camera ahead then hike back to film yourself hiking into a new scene or like around 5:45 you are filmed from far below on a silhouetted ridge scene. That would be a lot of back and forth hiking to set up or retrieving the camera?
Hey there! Thanks for watching. Yes I hike back and forth to set up the camera for those shots. Sometimes I use a remote to make it easier. But It’s still a lot of work. Stay tuned for more soon 🙏
@@NicholasEager That's a lot of work, you could add another quarter of that distance to your net distance. I love the pictures of the animals you include and the birds chirping.
very true! Thanks for your support 😁

May I ask where this canyon located?
Very beautiful and I want to visit this place
Que chulada de tomas de camara
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the camera shots. It's such a stunning place to film.
It is really nice that you do not CONTAMINATE your videos with music ! 😃😃
Sunguh luar biasa, karunia dari sang pencipta, ikut menyimak sampai habis
Thanks for enjoying the video and the majestic scenery! Glad you followed along till the end. Cheers!
My question is, is the. Black gooey substance oozing out between the rock layers shilajit ? It's shown around the 5 minute mark under the paintings as he walks past .Any info would be greatly appreciated, opinions too for that matter.
For sure one of the best filmed nature/canyon treks on YT, and completely without the endless nonsense, scripted chatter by the other nature/desert channels; I've been to this beautiful place before. But for me it could have been 500% better without the human troll in every single frame; as we all learned in film-class 101, every time a human enters the scene the attention goes to him/her and every single new frame here has a human troll walking through it which completely ruins ones enjoyment and concentration of just Mother Nature; otherwise it's absolutely stunning. (and if this is a solo trek then this guy easily walked twice the distance to set up/take down the needed equipment; I kind of doubt he'd do that but it's possible of course). Bottom line is that it's a step in the right direction without all the personal nonsense guesswork chatter constantly added in; it's hugely annoying and I simply kill the volume when watching. Super nice video, minus the troll...Cheers
Troll here 👋 I typically include myself as the subject to tell the story of the hike. Otherwise it's just random nature shots, which you can certainly find elsewhere on UA-cam. I do hike solo, which mean double or triple hiking distance. Thanks for the kind words about my filming and for watching 🙂
@@NicholasEager Howdy, I can totally appreciate your take on this, but for me, if NATURE is the star here, then images of a human inserted into every frame deminishes the entire experience at least for me the viewer; but of course this is just me opining, it's your channel. On a sidenote, I can watch nature films with people like David Attenborough, for hours on end, cause he's the master of staying out of the frame/video except for a few moments here and there to bring a personal touch, but he knows he's not the star, and I the viewer can immerse myself into what he's showing and telling me. I know what human beings look like, and it ain't all that interesting to me (unless of course it's Kim Kardashian; sorry, that's a new low even for me)...:):):) but when I watch a nature show, all I want to see is Mother Nature and all she has to offer. I know I'm boring you to death at this point, but I'm commenting simply because your video/filming is up there with the best, and that's a rarety on UA-cam. Of course I might totally be in the minority here, but such is life...:):):) Keep trekking, you do it verey well. Cheers

Thanks for watching! I hope my films inspire you to explore the beauty of nature in Brazil too!

Utah ?
Who was the photographer? Did he also enjoy the hike?
I was the photographer and yes, I definitely enjoyed the hike! It was a breathtaking experience capturing the journey.
Is it????
Amazing how the peaceful fun loving Indians found a need to build homes on the cliffs. (just a note: there are "fake" gliffs out there).. Query this: Do you think each and every pic artist was talented? OR, just an Indian that was using the gliffs as his/her written language?
Enjoyed the journey, landscape-wise! But the ruins are kind of sad. No kivas, no multi-story, no elegant mortarless construction. It all looks like decadent, end-of the culture huddling-up. The painted art is cool, but transition to whoever came that way later. The metates evidence occupation of some duration. With the water, a lucky place, but it feels disconnected from the prior civilization.
Almost looks like the BLM on the other side of the zia pueblo in new mexico. It looks extremely similar
Are we all supposed to pretend we don't know which Utah national park this is in? I don't understand. Just asking? I mean, I have the guide books and so forth. (BTW: I'll never post GPS coordinates to places like this)
Too late to be "discovering" anything out there. The Spanish, then ranchers, then miners, then backhoe Bubba, then the "ologists" picked all the bones clean.
You are obviously about getting youtube hits and not about hikers or information. Where is this exactly? S. utah is a huge place.
if he puts the location this place turns into Arches National Park with a waiting list and plastic poop filled bags everywhere. I live about 1.5 hrs from this area but have not seen this location. Hopefully some home work will unveil it to me. Otherwise I don't deserve to see it.
This statement was made famous by the so-called Darwin, and he is a liar in what he said. Rather, the origin of man is the origin of man in his known state. His origin is neither a monkey nor anything other than a monkey. Rather, he is a normal, rational human being whom God created from clay from the dirt. He is our father Adam, peace and blessings be upon him. God created him from dust as he said. God Almighty: And indeed We created man from a lineage of clay. [Al-Mu’minun: 12] He is created from this dirt. God created him in His image. His height is sixty cubits in the sky. Then the creation continues to decrease until now. He is created in this characteristic that we see, so his children are created like their father. Like their father's creation, they have hearing, they have sight, they have minds, and they have the stature that is known to them now. They stand on their feet, speak, hear, and see, and take with their hands and give. They are not in the form of apes, and their constitution is not that of apes. Rather, they have a special constitution, and apes have a special constitution. And so is every nation. Monkeys are an independent nation, pigs are an independent nation, and so are dogs, so are cats, and so are other nations, as God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: And there is not a living creature on the earth, nor a bird that flies with its wings, except nations like you. We have not neglected anything in the Book Then to their Lord they will be gathered
Nice photography. don't talk so much.
