    I love this new format from Firewire. The Flat Earth is so fun to ride and it's so user friendly! I personally love it as a twin (MR twin set). Thank you for sharing the insights from Akila and team riders 🤙🏽

      Thanks for pitching in - we've heard others also say the MR twin set goes great in this board.

    Respect Akila love FE the mod fish and yoda your paired down rails and how foiled the nose n tail are ... foam distribution is 🤘imo .. absolutely frothing on my FE , i’ve only ridden it as a twin .. i wanna try it as a 2+1 it’s just so hard to get off that twin drift .. it’s addictive!

    Is there something special they've done with the fin box placement to allow twin, 2+1, AND thruster setups to work well??

    Can you show someone riding it in windier conditions or maybe some slop chop. 🙏

      Yes. We will release that within the next couple weeks. We have a lot of Flat Earth video coming soon. It's always fun to watch how boards go at the Ranch, but footage in common waves is just as important.

      @@goncaloFOD Keep in mind my perspective before forming an opinion from my experience with the board. I learned how to surf on Long Island, New York and continued surfing in florida. The closest thing to "real" swell I've been in is hurricane swell in FL. I've never surfed anywhere but NY, and east coast of florida. I surf as often as I can, which is a lot since I work an ocean rescue job. Probably 9-12 hours a week. I've surfed my 5'10" x 20" x 2 3/4" 33.3 L flat earth in south florida wind chop. Bought it this past Wednesday. First session was in 2-3 foot 7 s wind chop that was anything, but clean. Used my FCS 2 Power Twins, no trailer. The thing went great, considering it's better suited for 6 ft waves with a higher period. I really like how much hold I have with the power twins with no trailer. The board was not slidey at all and I really like how sensitive it is. Can get really aggressive and be confident the board will hold sharp turns. Today I took it out in 3-5 ft wind chop that was blown out by 20 mph offshore winds with 30 mph gusts. Considerably more difficult. However, the board surprised me and I had a lot of fun. I tried it with the trailer fin that comes with the power twins and the board felt really sluggish to me. Took it out after an hour and continued without it. Felt faster and looser which is more fun to me and what I'm looking for from this board. Performance short board that feels like a twin. The user friendliness because it has aspects of a fun board made something out of otherwise nothing surf in both my sessions I mentioned. Yes, I have low standards. I hope this is helpful.

    @ FireWire Surfboards I have a dominator 2 5’6” and a glazer 5’4” live them both and wanted the opinion on what board I your line up to add next? Been looking at the Sci fi 2.0 . For all 3 boards where would you say they each excel ?
    Just a side note I’ve surfed the DOM 2 in head high plus and it does well for me

    • @firewiresurfboards
      @firewiresurfboards  3 роки тому +1

      You actually have a really good pair of boards dialed already. You could go with the Sci-Fi 2.0 next if you want. You'll probably like it most as a quad, while the Dom 2 and Glazer you may like most as a thruster. Where are you usually surfing?

    • @stevehills8580
      @stevehills8580 3 роки тому

      @@firewiresurfboards I surf mostly Newport and Huntington. I’ve surfed the DOM 2 in overhead surf and it seems to handle well in anything we get around here. The glazer is also a really fun option for most days as well. What are the main differences and where do you see them excelling ?

    FFS how about tell us all about the rocker (or lack of it), the concave (or lack of it), any foils off the wings/flyers, any vee up in the tail or along the board, where the widest point is, show us the thickness all along the board ... you've told us nothing other than a 50kg kid from Maui can surf it good in perfect waves. And he definitely wasn't riding it out at hefty Greenbush. Like, really?

    Not to piss on your party Firewire. However shapes like this with fiberglass stand up twin fins and wooden Keels have been coming out of Sunset Cliffs Ocean Beach San Diego since Moses parted the sea. Shapers like, Steve Lis, Dan Mann, George Gull and a few others are to be acknowledged. This new board does look like it would go like gang busters! 🌊🔱🤙
