  • The scariest thing in wakeboarding - trying your first flip!! Here's my suggestion on which to try, and of course how to do it - your first invert.
    Hope the video helps, and thanks to Ballyhass lakes for having me.
    Keep shredding.

      Jessica, Thank you so much for being patient! We've got some good news, the moment the boards hit our warehouse we will turn the website on and they will be available for purchase, as long as everything goes to plan, we are shooting for August 15th! Thanks again for being patient and keep an eye on your inbox!

    i wouldn't say these tricks are not dangerous. i've torn my ACL 3 weeks ago when i changed my mind during a tantrum (which is kinda similar to this trick and i did well many times before the accident). please let me amend this video with an advice: do these flips when your're 100% committed and nothing disturbes you just before (or during) the trick. you can get serious injuries very easily if you loose focus even for a little moment

    Love the tip of letting go of the handle! I used this for almost everything I learned on a kicker and it helps soooo much

    I started wakeboarding with 5 years (on the boat), and today i cant do more than one-eighties and wake to wake jumps. Because of this, one of my new year plans was to learn a tantrum. Thanks for the energy and motivation to do it. Love from the lake of constance in Germany to you!
    PS: Also I am getting so mad when i see kids in your video that can do more tricks than me *lol*

    maybe its because im tall, but sucking knees in never ever helped me get any extra rotation. for me, the best advise i had was to pull rope into waist which would aid rotation via pendulum effect.

    Hey Dave. Rad vid! If this was on boat, would it be a tantrum? I always say the backroll is easier but the tantrum is less painful to learn. Would you still recommend the toeside backroll as a first flip? Or would you go tantrum/backroll. Cheers!

    So. I’ve been trying Tantrums and TS Backroll for months. Almost 40 attempts. I still have a fucking extra 180 helicopter rotation while half in the flip, because I pull the rope. Grabbing (my board) helps on Tantrum but doesn’t at all on the TS Backroll. I still have no idea what kind of things I could do to stop pulling the handle, because it’s like a complete reflex.

    • @OBrienWatersports
      @OBrienWatersports 6 років тому

      Paul, Ross here with Obrien. What bindings do you currently have? I would love to be able to offer some advice that could be applied across to every manufacturers bindings but I believe you're running into the same problem I did, lack of support. Yours is finding it's way to your ankles where mine found it's way to my knees. A canted binding better aligns your knees and ankles offering more support and more pop. This makes your board easier to ride and landings less harsh on your body. Obrien offers canted bindings in both open and closed toe models. I'm riding our GTX closed toe binding and I love it because of the ankle support and quick release velcro. While the below video is from the snowboard industry, it does do a great job of showcasing the benefits of canted bindings. ua-cam.com/video/LnS-V0MHreY/v-deo.html
