Davie boyyyeee. Landed my first wake to wake today with these principles. It works! I think one thing you missed from a beginners point of view was having a wee bit of balls to attack that edge as you approach, i was scared of going that quick into it, do it once though...piece of cake!

@@daanstaalman2953 I started with 65' and went up to 70' after I was able to figure it out, that'll be a few feet farther so needs more speed+balls.

When pro riders say “stand tall” at the wake I always had issues really understanding what that means fully... Best way I can explain it is like a trampoline! If you try to push off the wake or push off a trampoline you will buckle and get no pop. If you keep your legs very straight and stiff (and your body as well) on a trampoline you will pop up. Same on a wake guys! Hope this helps some people! Credit to the great Shaun Murray for telling me that in such a way that it made so much sense so fast! David keep doing everything you’re doing and congrats on the pro board finally coming to fruition!

I just got back from the most sick!! wake park ever. I had a great time there. It's a rare treat for me because I live in Joberg South Africa. My family and I just got back from a holiday at the coast. We found a river, so we put the boat in . We've got an outboard boat with a small wake, but that's the way I like it, because not only can we wakeboard, but we can water ski, kneebord and all round have a great time on the water

FINALLY :) - I fell so many times this week, and all because of not holding an edge into the wake. I know to do it, then I get distracted thinking about landing or something else before I even take off. A sore neck and pulled hip flexor are reminding me to pay better attention.

yoooooo gotta pay my respects to Dave, did my first wake to wake today now I know it can be completed on hardly anything my grandpa has a 18 year old 20 foot Larson sterndrive boat I’ve tried to wake to wake on that but I’ve never been as successful as today my neighbors took me out wakeboarding on their 2 year old 21 foot sterndrive regal it has a wakeboard tower and I did what I always do on the Larson and first try wake to wake. So again it can be done on a very weak setup but it is a hell of a lot easier on a better boat and the progressive edge is a very good thing to keep in mind and use and trust me it helps.

Something I think helps a lot is changing rope length and sometimes boat speed. The wake is not as rampy as you get closer to the boat and the gap between wakes gets smaller. With big wakes, the lip at the crest can sometimes throw people off balance. For beginners I suggest starting with a shortened rope, closer to the boat. Once you get comfortable clearing the wake at each stage, progressively lengthen it. My experience comes from trick skiing, but I assume the same principles apply. Interested to know if anybody else does this too

My problem at the toeside is when coming to the wake I end up slowing down and cutting my edge short, problem is that I'm trying for ages getting rid of that bad habit. Would love some tips from David as well. I remember some other video he has done about progressive edge, thats when I understood it, there he mentioned going from 1 to 6 building up sequentially, e not falling into de habit of going from 1 to 5 and then falling back to 4 or 3 when u get to the wake, really good tip, worked wonders for me.

Also I’m riding a 150 cm board and I’m like 90 pounds with 8in feet so I can’t ride the smaller board so I ride the 150 cm one so I don’t know if that’s a problem. Is there anything I can do?
