    Welcome to Bedrock Guide Season 3! This series is here to walk you through the game of Minecraft that exists on PC, Mobile devices (some still call MCPE), Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch. In this series it is my goal to help you make the most of your world, starting with the most basic of things in the game, through understanding redstone, game mechanics, and how to build/design your own farms!
    If you enjoy the series, you can show it by hitting the like button, and commenting on every episode! I will often ask you to give your tips, tricks, and advice in the comments, and I will frequently either use them myself in future episodes, or even display your comment in an episode as a tip of the day!

    I like to pair a target block and a redstone lamp and put them in and around my base at different heights and distances. Whenever I see one, I can shoot it with an arrow and if I hit it the light will turn on, so I know if I hit the target even if the arrow is to far away to see. Awesome way to practice for the Dragon fight. Thanks for the video, I learned a few things I didn't know before 😊👍👍👍👍

    Just a note, there is a big difference between "game ticks" and "redstone ticks". There are 2 game ticks to a redstone tick. Usually when people say "ticks", they are referring to redstone ticks. There are 10 redstone ticks in a second, but 20 game ticks in a second.

    Great video.
    Gonna take a while for me to wrap my head around how to use it all, but I got the basics.
    I'm 2 weeks into this game and just made a small below ground iron farm. But I wanted the iron to flow upward to my chest area. So I ended up adding a water elevator to it, but I did it differently than you have here. You can see me struggle getting it to work in episode 5 of my Rumble channel.
    Here are the basics of my setup: The dropped iron (and poppies) fall into hoppers, that feed into a dropper. I power the dropper through a repeat circuit that spits out the iron to the side and into the water. At the bottom of the after I have Soul Soil to cause a updraft and push the items up faster. This then sends the iron into two hoppers and two large chests at eye level.
    My next goal is to find a way to send the signal upward to turn on a redstone lantern when new iron is deposited. But I might be able to bypass that by placing an observer at the top. I'm think that as the observer sees the iron pass by, just before hitting the hopper, it can signal the light to come on.

    • @bestofharmonyone1160
      @bestofharmonyone1160 4 місяці тому

      If you put the observer to see the iron pass through a hopper or something of storage then u can pull the signal from that. To light up the lamp. But if u are thinking of pulling the signal from seing the iron going through the water stream then that wouldnt be possible since its not changing the state of the block.

    • @sespider
      @sespider 4 місяці тому

      @@bestofharmonyone1160
      Thanks. Hopefully it'll help someone.
      As for me, I've figured out the observer issue, but ditched it as the golem dying is more than enough of a notification.
      My issue now is with the auto-sorter. It works. But it will randomly allow the hoppers' clogging blocks through. It's VERY annoying. I've checked with multiple video tutorials and sure enough, I have everything correct. The first hopper seems to never break, but the other two, after it, do. Very weird.

    • @bestofharmonyone1160
      @bestofharmonyone1160 3 місяці тому

      @@sespider auto sorters are tricky, so most tutorials show you put 5 of the item u are sorting and the other 4 slots to put like 10 from a filter item. So thing is if u have a ton of item being filter what will happen is that the signal strength from the other hoppers are strong enough to unlock the hoppers next to it hence causing it to mess your sorter. So i suggest either two things:
      1) Put 1 filter item for the other 4 and then just put a stack of the item u wanna sort so that it locks on the correct item number (im sorry i dont remember the correct items needed).
      2) if you wanna keep the same design u might have (havent seen it to know whats going on) i would say build them individually. Instead of having them connect side by side. Leave a one block gap. I tend to do this if i know a lot of items are gonna go through to the farm at a fast paced so that way i can keep the 5 main items and allow way more to be picked. This is one way to make sure all the items are picked (this is how i use it for my guardian farm)
      Usually iron farms in bedrock u have a mob cap of 2 iron golems so max you could receive are 10 irons per duo death so i say switching to option 1 is perfectly fine and ur sorter shouldnt break! But also remember that string and poppys are coming in as well so if u sorting all three then check which one is more frequent and in amounts so that you can keep that one far from the iron one so when both are being pulled u dont have too much strength and unlocking ur hoppers

    I really needed this video! Thanks for taking the time to really explain these things- everyone else just seems to take it for granted that it all makes sense right away. I do have one question. At 28:12 when you're explaining the hopper flow, would items flow into that bottom hopper and get stuck there in the hopper when the chest is full and until space opens up in the chest again? So there's the potential to temporarily lose access to items in the hopper line because they flowed down into it because the hopper above doesn't know that the bottom chest is full and there was nowhere for them to go? I just need confirmation that I'm thinking about this the right way. :P

    I thought I was gonna have to comb through multiple videos on how to use redstone components to figure out one very specific thing but I decided to click on this video first, and now only. I may need to watch this at least one more time because that redstone clock is exactly what i was looking for but there's also some other uses that look fun, though I'm on bedrock rather then java so one or two things may require tweaking to get the same results, but thanks anyway, I'm definitely not gonna use any of this for evil to make contraptions just to annoy anyone lmao

  • @watchinglearner
    @watchinglearner 4 місяці тому

    It kinda helps me understand what redstone devices are supposed to do in theory, but it doesn't help me understand redstone well enough to build my own contraptions with it. Especially considering how inconsistent rendstone seems to be. I built a castle gate that opens and closes according to some instructional video I saw, and it worked fine the first time. When I tried to reconstruct it to EXACT detail the second time (with intent to dissect and perhaps alter the design), no part of the build actually worked.
    Basically, I can kinda see what the devices are supposed to do, but my redstone builds still don't do anything besides necessitating larger builds to hide the unsightly-yet-defective wiring.
