WOW, I am now 63 and I remember the day my parents bought it for me for Christmas. It came from the Sears Christmas Catolog I think it was in 1967. I STILL have it and it is in working condition. It burns Esbit dry fuel. It is also made of coper and brass. I fired it up for my son and daughter. (They are also both married. The German workers install quality into their manufactured goods. Enjoy !!!!
It isn't a Jensen Model 60, but an Wilesco D5 made in Germany, produced in the sixtieth cause of the grey basic plate. Greetings from Germany, Dampf-Hannes
As the Steam flows through the feed pipe water condenses and operation is sluggish but as the pipe and working cylinder heats up condensation stops and you can hear the engine speed up. Would be interesting to see it do some actual work, raise a load ,turn a dynamo etc.👍
I got one for my birthday in the 1960s. Forget the year. Several years my dad fired it up and a few short minutes later the boiler blew up! He was not here or got hit with the scalding water. One end of the boiler was the only thing that let go. He tossed it in the trash after it cooled off. He did it outside and was far enough away to not get hurt.
Nice machine.. I recently bought an old camper and as I was cleaning out all the junk inside it. I found a steam engine that was made in England and it's missing a few part's and I was wondering if you knew if I can get the parts or if someone needs the main parts I have.

You are correct.
Ok, I see the problem. The syringe clearly states "Single Use Only"!
I have this same engine, got it back in the fifties, it still runs.

it not powerful enough to power such a thing. but a D5-6 is capable of running a small workshop
I wished I had one as a kid. Amazing how fast it could go.
