It's been 4 years since this vid came out and it's still helping new drivers learn how their cars work. I'm studying for my driving theory test right now and this is the only I could find willing to explain the fundamentals of how gears work without wasting my time
I've watched many videos on this trying to understand but your video is the greatest by far! It has an easy to understand explanation and simple animatoins which help convey the point well, unlike other videos which use the whole drive train as an animation. Thank you for the great video!
Thankyou so much...I'm going for driving class since 4 days ... my teacher is now teaching me to control the steering and accelerator after that only we'll move on to gear ...but i dont have any idea about it(like the role of gear other than reverse and normal)now its so clear thankyou
I appreciate this video a lot, it makes this understandable and is entertaining. The visuals definitely helped, I think the size of the gears helped me relate it to the size of a lever. I also appreciate you pointing out that commen sense can be wrong
Thank you!! loved the video. Yesterday was my first driving lesson day and I was all confused about the gear and hated it. This video made me realise the importance of it.
Great... Learnt torque which baffled me . Rpm seems easier to understand but the inverse relation between rpm and torque ok getting it though not fully... damn physics...but I do kind of understand torque a little now... But the big gear for more power output yep needs more learning
Bro polisanam, itrem nannayitt aarm explain cheyynth njn ithvare kandittilla. Ee video matramalla ur all videos are great. Is there any way to contact u, i would love to learn from u
As I said at the beginning of the video, this is only a schematic representation of gears focusing only on the physics behind them. It doesn't exactly look like this inside a car. You can refer to this video: ua-cam.com/video/wCu9W9xNwtI/v-deo.html by Lesics to see it from an engineering point of view. No matter how it is implemented, the physics and logic behind it will be the same, which is what I'm trying to explain here.
Two ways for gear to work, big gear and same number of teeth=first gear, small gear with high number of teeth also works the same way. Thats what I understood/can visualise, correct me if Im wrong.
3:00 wrong formula, it's actually angular velocity
Yes, you're right!
Interesting. A Clash Royale player, who's supposed to be brain-dead, knows his physics well.
Well, thats what you get when you fit people into boxes. Not everyone fits.@@diptoacharjee7538

This is the exact explanation I want. Simple to understand, right to the point and super clear. Thank you so much!
Thanks a lot for the nice words.

Thanks a lot for these nice words.
This is like the 6th video I watch on this topic and I am finally able to understand how gears work💯👏
Never knew how car components like these worked and this explanation really helped thanks 🙏🏿
this is the best explanation of the concept I've ever seen
So clear and easy to under stand. Thank you!
Thank you!
Holy crap you have the most soothing voice ever! The content was spot on too. Absolutely precise, to the point explanation for the regular joe.
Thanks a lot for the nice words!
Dude nicely done! Easy to understand unlike other videos it still is over complicated. This was basic of the basic.
Glad it helped!
thank you so much for this video. perfectly explained. spent my whole life having no idea why cars need a transmission.

Very well articulated. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
Great to hear!
Best video available on whole of UA-cam regarding this topic! Wow🎉 many thanks 🙏
Very simple but powerful explanation. Excellent work...!!!!
Many thanks!

That's one of the best explanation anyone could ever give...thank you so much....
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Thanks dude ! Your explanation video is easy to follow ! I learned a lot ! You earned a subs my friend.
If this was your own creation, then you are going to be a very good presenter
Thanks a lot!! This made my day
Perfect explanation! Thank you for this video, i understood finally how the gears works...

very underrated explaination
Excellent explanation, good video until the very last 👏 .

This is what I was looking for. Everyone says change gears and how it's changing. But nobody tellz why to change it ans why it exists
very good video. understood everything properly now. malayaliyalle

I am learning to drive and this was helpful. 👍🏼
Can i download this model somehow?
Great explanation! Thank you!
You're welcome!
great explanation!
first gear has the shortest diameter.. its shown opposite here.. why?
