Love this. Showing the process, line of thinking with mocs. Especially discussing the costs and best methods for acquiring bulk parts. Thanks, keep making vids!!!
@@BevinsBricksWorld and I agree with the off brand plates.I use a 16 x16 from dollar tree in light grey and black for the same.and Now I am building mils plates with them too.you cannot see them so I don't mind it.but some folks totally disagree, but it's about the cost for me.have you checked out Tiago with some of his small builds? Makes a great cubical office desk for that building.😀
Great video! I've been building a skyscraper for the last 3 years and I'm just now completing the fifth story. I plan to complete the entire building by the ned of the year.
Thanks for the tips. Planning my first and maybe only "skyscraper" in my Lego city at the moment. Will build it on a 32x32 base just because that fits well with roadplates, modulars, and so on. Think a design like you show here might be great for that.
@@BevinsBricksWorld They're still on sale, so if you need more, now is the time to get them! I keep looking for the 1x6x5 trans-light blue panels to go on sale again, but no luck so far.
Hey BB. Do you think you could do a follow up using the smaller plates? Be interesting to see how you use the smaller for 1 floor as an example. Mostly how you bring them together
I just very recently purchased 2 non lego brand base plates, I cut them in half, as i need half plates to start my city, and could only find them more expensive then 32 x 32 plares. Im a true lego user and usually very strict with it, but i think when im using mils, the base plate wont even be visable, and the clutch power seems great. What's your opinion?
Great tips! While they’re not officials, those plates that let you put bricks beneath them are decent for a static build.(one that won’t move often). And who besides you (and your viewers) will ever know they’re there?
other than the clutch on the bottom , the fit & finish seem to work well , I used them on a play table I built and sold. The test bricks I placed on top held just fine.
A year later, how did the brickyard baseplates work out? It is just so hard to justify spending that much on 16x16 plates. If I wanted to tile out and build out some of the floors how would they do?
How do I build a lego skyscraper when my bricks are all mixed up and I do have around 40 windows and the rest just multi couloured random bricks, what do I do
Lego has gotten expensive lately. Looking forward to see what they end up doing with the modular buildings. Skyscraper looks good. Hope you are doing well. Finally here in PA places are opening up again. Hopefully my lego store opens soon. Lol
Wow that is going to be another nice tall addition to the city. Great use of parts. Will have to check out some of those off brand plate considering how cheap they are for 32×32 plate. I myself bought some online a couple of years ago that where dark gray but to color doesn't match up with Lego dark gray so I haven't used them. How is the color compared to lego on these plates?
Hey Darryl! (sp?) I really enjoy your videos. How would you do the same thing with LEGO 16x16 plates? Curious what type of frame or sub-structure do you create to connect the 4 smaller plates? Have a great day & Keep 'em Coming!
I am curious if there would be a relatively easy way to make the building like a set of draws without having it impact on the overall height of the building. Ie so you could take out each floor as a whole or two pieces side by side to create/show/play with the inside. Also do you plan an elevator/escalator or stairs?
Bevins Bricks - I was more meaning if your building is 10 stories tall - you could access any floor without having to take each floor above out. Using door rail and groove pieces. Like you wanna set up a photo shoot and need to change the office on the third floor - you don’t want to have to take floors 10-4 off separately to fix it up, just slide out the office on the third floor make the change slide it back in.
Bevins Bricks - also curious/idea for you... build the lift we’ll using the same door rail grooves (vertically) place your surplus windows on top one another, make a 10 story tall glass elevator shaft. Building still looks great, living my dreams through you - LEGO way to expensive/no space etc.
Dueling banjos on a 12 string!? Not allowed! lol This whole vid reminded me of a song by John Hartford called Tall Buildings. Check it out if you get a minute.

Thank you soooo much for the video and the helpful tips Bevins Bricks. I appreciate very much and look forward to the next video.👍👍👍
I really like the texture effect between floors. Really great! Thank you for sharing that building method.
Bevins Bricks of course, you have great content. You are knowledgeable and funny ( in a good way) keep it up my friend!

I also am using the same baseplates and they are awesome!
Hope you get it finished :)

Great video. I recommend your channel to a lot of people this week. 😀
That the kind ideas we need for create nice city, how are you my friend
Well done awesome vidio looks great. Brilliant.
hey Daryl, nice to see you and the guitar again!
Hey Daryl!!! Thank you for the tutorial and I would thank you for the deal you shared with us!!! Thanks!!😁😁
Great use for all those 1x4x6 glass pieces. Nice video Daryl!

@@BevinsBricksWorld I was talking about the 1x6x5 panels you got a while back. Both of the 1x4x6 glass colors are still .06 right now.
Hi man thanks you for show me how to make a building
Thank you :)
Nice
I wish I had all of that many legos I have a lot of sets just not ANYWHERE close to what he has he probably has thousands
Yah that's true
I guess I have a bin of legos I just don't know if it has the pieces that in need and I would need to sort it

That is my feeling as well, obviously I prefer Lego brand products but in areas where it can't be seen I see nothing wrong with using off-brand parts.
Nice sky scrapper. Does Lego even make a 32x32 plate?
Bevin I have another burning question I need to ask you
How much can you bench?
I remember during the move out/ move in I keep seeing a bench press, that got me curious lol
Furnishing the inside would probably make it 2-3x more expensive

So if I wanted to finish a floor they’d be fine? Not as worried about the bottom side. It is just so hard to justify paying for that many 16x16 playes

The plates work great brickloot also sells some nice plates.
Darryl, where is the glass on sale for that cheap?
LEGO online pick a brick or whatever they call it online
The clear glass is showing up at .54 cents each. That one?
How do I build a lego skyscraper when my bricks are all mixed up and I do have around 40 windows and the rest just multi couloured random bricks, what do I do
@@BevinsBricksWorld ok, that cant hurt
Can you provide a list of each brick needed and quantity of each brick needed. I think some of the quantities weren't mentioned
I'll post the instructions on rebrickable at some point

@@BevinsBricksWorld haha. Geez. Thats a hike
Their prices are why I haven't bought new Lego for a year
I can't find glass for the door frames it keeps coming up with glass doors on pick a brick
Try these 2 part numbers on pick a brick
35290, 35291

Put a helideck on top of the building

No I sold mine a few years ago because I didn't use very often anymore.
You bought 500$ worth of LEGO glass? 😂😂😳
Bevins Bricks oh you’re right I’m not very smart. I used 0.6 x 500 instead of 0.06. In any case great deal Daryl!
