This is the only track that behaves differently when the game is switched into its 100, 200, 300, 400, or 500 mile mode through the test menu: full course cautions can occur if the computer drivers have a bad crash, giving you a short break while everyone lines up behind the pace car again. The car will drive itself slowly around the track behind the pace car during this time, so use it to take a pit stop and get fresh tires and fuel while everyone is slowed down. Press the start button during the caution to signal for a pit stop.

You control the hard car really well! Do you have any particular tips for using the hard car, or is it more just getting used to it?
Also, if you use a steering wheel, what model is it?
The hard car can be tricky to drive, but it's not far off from the normal level car! Practice first with the normal car to understand exactly how the game lets you start and end drifts and how you control your line while drifting, then focus on memorizing what speed, gear, and line you'll need to take every corner; a video like this works great for that! If you want to practice a certain corner or section on Supermodel, press F5 on a straightaway to save state, then press F7 to reload the game and instantly try again from where you last saved. The problem with the hard car is its poor acceleration; a crash or bad corner will ruin your practice on the next few corners you take because you'll be entering them at a slower speed you haven't studied up for. I don't have a proper steering wheel for Supermodel so I use a PlayStation controller for these runs, but a wheel can help give you the muscle memory you need to win on real cabinets if you do run into one in the wild. A gamepad can also make the game easier as well since you don't have to physically fight against the wheel while driving and can 'turn' a joystick much faster than a wheel. If you can find one, a wheel that has a separate shift knob like some of the high end Logitech G series wheels can be a lot of fun too, but they can get expensive fast!
@@onepunchdan4986 Yeah, prices are out of hand new. I play on a PS4 pad as well, but Daytona has made me interested in trying out a wheel! Also need to try out other Sega racers too...
