I cant tell you how many times I say "why doesnt he just take..." and then later I see that i missed something obvious. So Im going "Isnt the Queen just mate? Why isnt that mate??"
If he takes bishop at 1:24 there is Nc3 forcing the queen to b4, and Ra4 traps the queen. Overall that position slightly favors white at about +1 evaluation
It's complicated, but basically Kc3 the queen is forced to slide down to b4 and then Ra4 traps it. Engine also shows that first you need to trade the knight on e5 for the bishop on g6 for it to work or else you'd lose bishop knight and rook for the queen, instead of just rook and bishop for the queen
Why does knight c6 not win a queen? And what is the other game he was referring to, when he said it almost worked a second time? I imagine he wanted the queen to go the other way, but then?
C6 does not win a queen because the rook who would attack the queen is pinned. And about the second game thing, he tried to do a bait. it seems like he hung his bishop, but if the opponent captures the bishop, he would trap the queen with horse c3. This probably happened in another game that day, not in this one tho
@@Jemchwastakenno it does win a queen you don't need the rook. after nc6+, if the king moves to c7 or c8, you win the queen with nd4 discovered check. if the king moves to a8 its checkmate and if the king moves to b7 you have rook b4 check forcing the opponent to move to kc8, after nd4 discovered check, they go kd7 guarding the queen because if you take the queen they take the rook on e1 with check, you go kd2 and they will take the knight with the king, so sacrificing both their queen and their rook somehow lets them survive a couple more moves but black is lost after nc6. so you don't take the queen yet and play rook b7 check first to force the king back to d8 or e8, if they go kd8 you go nxe6 check forcing them to go ke8 then qe7 is checkmate. if ke8 you play rook e7 check, if queen takes you take back with the queen its mate, if they don't take kd8 is m1 and kf8 is m2. its hard to see this with 40 seconds left so he also saw the rook is pinned and rejected nc6.
@@cuki5530 The rook is pinned yes, but that's not what I wanted to use to win the queen; The king is in check. If he takes your knight with the queen, then obviously, you win the queen. Time for mate in 1 puzzles 🔥🔥🔥
Gotham pulled an Alireza
Boss, boss, what's this boss.
Jokes aside, I'm a scrub who's 600 and levy still got the dub.
Can't miss mate in one if you're never winning (my logic as an 800)
If he had mate in one that means he was winning until he missed it
Levy has a blind spot for diagonal moves
most people do for some reason
Now the IM title should be revoked
LOL, bro gave himself the 'pin of shame' with the title.

I saw it but because I was looking for it due to the title. In my games I'd likely have already lost by that point
Levy is on his way to grandmaster ❤ He learns from his mistakes 🎉
Levy won but could’ve won earlier with Qa6# but he did it instead with pawn Rook and Knight
You know it’s bad when I found it.
Problem is that he literally played Qe2 a move ago.
Bro literally set the mate then forgor
Man it's the time pressure thing isn't it! Levy didn't have a time to see Qa6#!
wait why did the other guy not take the bishop at the start?
