If its not connecting try taking the ear cups off and getting a simcard tool and taking the the headphones off and cleaning the connector that are attached to the headband and use some compressed air for the hole where the connector goes .
I had that problem for a while but now mine wont charge at all so i just brought a used pair

Had them for a week. Returned them, couldn't stand the idea of the mesh band loosening or the condensation issues. Plus, they aren't that confortable and they slide off my ears fairly easily. Unacceptable quality issues on headphones that cost as much as budget iphones.
Plus they sound the same as my AirPods Pro 2 and ANC is the same

I had mine since release and i love them wore them everyday since and now they wont charge so i brought a used pair for $200 from someone who really needed money
I have mine for 2 years. Im still like them, they works perfect. Bought with nice discount. One downsize is that they are not comfy for longer flights. I use AirPods pro for longer trips.

I was about to buy them just now, but you are right I definitely should wait a little.
Problem is apple might not release them this year or until mid 2025. There’s also no guarantee the change will be enough to be worth getting the new one over the old.

I had these same connection issues you’re having. Apple aren’t too helpful with it unless you have Apple Care+ for them. They’ll tell you it’ll be $300 to repair them.
Here’s a fix that worked for me for a short while:
1. Clean the ports inside the earcups. Sometimes dirt builds up in there.
2. Charge them up, put them in the freezer for about 30 - 45 minutes, then they may connect again. I know it sounds ridiculous but I saw it on reddit, and it worked well for me.
they should put an H2 in the 2 gen on it at least, The Airpods Pro 2 sounds better than the Maxs

On the cushions: Just wash em with some dish soap and all the grime goes away. Good as new.
Headphones are one of the items I'm happy with not being a part of the Apple ecosystem. I've had my Sony WH-1000XM3s for almost 5 and a half years and they're amazing. Keeping them until they die, at least 7 years.

I've had no connection issues on mine. I thought ppl were blaming iOS for the connection issues, not the airpods themselves. At least that's what I heard from the IOS content creators.
