Hi Farrah, this video touched my heart. I am way older than you, but I came across your vlogs and started watching and enjoying you and your hubby and seeing your slice of life, You are actually a light for me in a time of darkness. Thanks so much for sharing and helping me to see a way out of the fog I am in......The best to you and your family.....
farahdhukai Hey that story about your grandma was very touching. It reminded me about my experience with mine recently. It was almost the exact situation and she was the same way as yours, super supportive. Thanks for sharing it reminded me of her.
I totally cried when you talked about your grandmother passing I feel the exact same way about my Grandy and I can't imagine losing her. Wishing you all the best and thanks for all the great videos:)
Hi Farah, Me and my 17yrs old teenage daughter have been tuning into your vlogs religiously. We love everything about you. Gal, you are absolutely jaw droppingly stunning inside and out. Thank you for the difference you have made in our lives through your video. You are truly an inspiration. May Allah continues to bestow His blessings on you & ur family. Ameen. Omgg i cried my eyes out!! Just like you i am really close to my nani and cant think of the thought of letting her go! EVER!!!! Farah you are a great human being and im sure everyone is happy and content with having a genuine person like you in their lives! Love u sooooo muchhhh!!!!!!!
I'm Persian but I can totally relate to being the ugly duckling in grade school but with laser hair removal and makeup, those days are gone lol. Also my grandma was my best friend until she died when I was 17 and it took me a long time to get over the anger of why she had to die. Just remember how blessed you are by God to have had the chance to see her the night before she passed. Those miracles don't happen all the time :)
You and I are almost the same age. I was born Jan 1987. My mom was my best friend she was my EVERYTHING like your grandma was to you. My mom died Dec 4 2007 only 2 days after your grandma died. I had been gone in Texas and Maine for like a year and when I came back I only had a couple months with her before she died....like you being in NYC then coming back and only having a short time with your grandma. The similarities of your story and mine are crazy. I literally almost cried. I know you’ll probably never read this post because this vid is so old but man.....I’m like really blown away right now. I’ve never met anyone that has been through what I have, not to mention almost exact same story. I love you so much Farrah! I really have so much love for you in my heart because I was right there with you at exactly the same time going through the same thing. Xoxoxo stay strong. I’m proud of you! Proud of us.
I just watched this with my little girl and at the end she turned round to me and said "I love you". Thank you Farah for being you. Sending you much love and best wishes from the UK xXx 😘💜💜💜💜
Hey Farah! Thank you for making this video. I love how genuine you are and how positive you are. I tend to get depressed and beat up myself but you really helped me look into myself and see that there's so much more to life than to be sad. I speak for all of your friends (fans but we are your friends) WE
I love you so much. I'm glad that I stumbled upon your channel. This is my first time ever commenting on anybody's channel or any video, but I felt like I had to. This video just opened up my mind and gave me inspiration and hope that I'll get out of this funk I've been in for the past two years. You're so beautiful & amazing & just perfect, even more so than Rihanna or Angelina Jolie (my idols). Well I guess you're sort of one of them now. You're just fab & I hope that by the time I'm 20 I can achieve something or find something to fill whatever's missing in me. Thank you!
I just saw your videos today and all I can say is that you are the sweetest and most uplifting woman I have seen online in a long time. I am really glad I got to watch your story. Thank you.
Where I grew up in Wimbledon there were lots of indian people. At school I had indian and pakistani friends and I didn't really notice any difference between us. Except that their parents were very strict haha
Farah I lost my grandma last year, and lost a bunch of other people. I went on drugs to deal with the grief and have been getting help to get off of them. I really appreciate your story. It is beautiful.
Hello from Scarborough :) I lost my grandmother last year and ..she was my world, she still is...she raised me and we had this amazing love and connection with each other. Your story about you and your grandma really hit home...
KattyArtist Xoxo wow, jealous much. that girl is beautiful. inside and out. it must really pisses you off that she's a natural beauty huh. so no your not a "mean girl ' your just a jealous bixxh.
@BeautiiBoots x theyre so many races in Africa like white, black, mixed race. Indians moved there from their homeland so thats why theres a lot of them. Thats what makes Africa full of culture.
Your grandma would be so happy and proud of you, you not only inspire but also help out thousands of girls with your videos on UA-cam so really thank you for being so willing and helpful. It was also lovely to hear your story, really really love you Ms. Farah :)
I cried Farah-- by the end of your video, I was in tears. I'm in a bad place in my life; I'm a total wreck emotionally, I feel paralyzed by past mistakes and events and wondering what to do with my life. Your sweet words gave me hope. I have hope for future happiness and success, and in becoming a better person-- the kind of person worthy of receiving and giving love. That feeling of hope that your video gave me really brought on the happy tears, thank you :)
Omg our lives are so similar!! Im currently in Aveda Institute and even my parents are from Tanzania (my mom is from Kenya). I love your videos keep it up!!

Farah, Ive known (rather watched you) since the beginning and never knew your special bond with your Nanima! I cried uncontrollably while watching, because I suddenly lost my daddy 3 weeks ago and a part of me died with him!

Maybe Farrah should've clarified she's of indian origin but then maybe it doesnt matter to her most likely her great grandparents moved to africa as that was the generation that branched out mainly through trad etc.
Exactly, she says she's from Africa nd her mums from Kenya but then she says she was the only Asian girl in her class nd most of her videos are indian related stuff .. Plz explain?
I’m a Latina that grew up in a town where there were no brown Latinos, so even the white Latinos, white kids, and black kids bullied me. The hairy struggle without being able to shave with a unibrow was real. But it’s ok cause life gets better girls
i had to subscribe after watching this. I went to Canada, brand new from India and met my first love there. He was Indian from Kenya too...so many memories. =) i loved Canada. Now i live in the US, but those years were the best, so many heartaches but they taught me valuable lessons.

Thank you so much for sharing maybe it will help others find theirs. My sister sent me a link to one of your tutorials, I guess she was hoping I'd find my inspiration. Rough Life People of Asian Indian descent are spread all over the world because of the forced indenture of many Indians by the British Colonists. Many Indians were tricked or coerced into leaving their homes to work in sugarcane and copra plantations in various parts of the world (Fíji, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Trinidad, Jamaica, Guyana, etc). The Indians were forced to take the place of the freed African slaves and this basically became a practice of slavery under the name of "indentured work". The Indians were horribly mistreated by the plantation owners, but managed to keep their cultures and languages alive- forging a new identity and making a name for themselves in their countries. Indians of this ancestry have been in these countries for over 8 generations. My mother's family are actually Asian Indians from Fiji and Trinidad and had managed to become famous people in government, despite their origins as humble forced indentured labourers. Hope this helps

The same way a majority of people who live in America have parent's or ancestors who came from many different countries, her family instead lives in Africa(though, now she and her parents live in Canada) but their Ethnicity is Indian. I live in America and my mom is from Italy, my dad from Puerto Rico. Just saying that because it's the same idea.

This gave me even more reasons to love you! finding out these little details about your life, even though they're so small, gives me an insight into why you're such a beautiful person! You know, when you were talking about how your g-ma passed and how she said she can sleep peacefully now, i had to stop the video because i started crying. Even though it is sad, It was a beautiful way for her to go. I'm sure she wouldn't have wanted it any other way :) we love you farah!
Hi Farah, I'm from India and I can relate to so many things you said. I'm going through a very confusing phase of my life too, but this video gave me so much strength, thank you so much!
Honestly girl, idk but your video made me cry because I can identify with you as far as the depression goes, and losing a loved one and a grandparent. Life isn't easy, life is bittersweet, and living it one day at a time is the only thing we can do. I enjoy your videos, and I enjoy your positivity. Keep up the good work, and thank you for sharing part of your life with us As far as those idiotic mean girls that still send hate mail to you, they're just miserable A-holes that have nothing better to do.
Wow, this is my first visit to your channel and the first video of yours that I saw. I was really touched by your story. I cried during the part about your grandma. I lost my grandma when I was 9 and she was the only person that I felt ever really loved and cared about me. I know that probably sounds extra sad & dramatic but it was kinda true. You have a wonderful & interesting story with a happy ending. Thanks 4 sharing! I'm so glad you have love in your life.
I totally understand every stage of ur life, specially when ur grandma past away cause I lost mine in july 2007 and she's my everything too. I admire u more. XOXOXO From Puerto Rico
What a beautiful story. Thank you so much for sharing it. I was very close to my grandma too, and it was hard to lose her, but I still feel her so close some days. Bless you, and thank you for the wonderful videos! I'm learning a lot from you!
This is so touching. You're so brave for sharing... the part about your grandma made me tear up. Keep doing what you do - confident, conscientious, courageous! Thanks so much for your videos. I hope it's not too weird that I feel like I know you a little better now! Take care :)

Thank you so much for being who you are and inspiring me to be more confident and proud of who I am and that life does continue through the hard times, god bless you and you will go so far in life
I cried with your video lol I lost my mom 8 years ago and my 2 grandmas the same day 5 years ago... so I understand how it feels like, but I'm really happy you're loving your life right now and that youtube helped you with it (: thank you so much for sharing your story, you're so inspiring! (: much much love from Mexico
But you are not Indian so how are you Indian
her ancestors are from India but her parents/grandparents moved to Africa she's still Indian its just that she's from Africa
She's very clearly Indian just by looking at her. There are Indians that live in Africa too, just like there are white people in Africa.
I dont get it are u indian or african?
Excacly I was shocked when she said im african
There are lots of Indians that live in Africa. Some speak Gujarati.
+MsJcmJcm when I was in Africa- kenya I saw a lot Indians but they're says we're kenya I was shocked

Autumn apaz Anan ,
Ok, I'm confused! If your parents are from Africa and their families are from Africa how are you Indian? Is it because your husband?
i believe she's Indian. but her mom and dad met in Africa.
Chilanga D.F. Yes even m confused i didnt get that how is she indian?
She is of Indian descent. Her family just lived in Africa
learn history before you speak
The same way a majority of people who live in America have parent's or ancestors who came from many different countries, her family instead lives in Africa(though, now she and her parents live in Canada) but their Ethnicity is Indian.
I live in America and my mom is from Italy, my dad from Puerto Rico. Just saying that because it's the same idea.

You know, when you were talking about how your g-ma passed and how she said she can sleep peacefully now, i had to stop the video because i started crying. Even though it is sad, It was a beautiful way for her to go. I'm sure she wouldn't have wanted it any other way :) we love you farah!
beautiful.... Proud African and proud to watch your videos ... your awesome
