This symphonic poem evokes the memory of my sojourn to Prague in years past. This city, an intricate mosaic crafted from the pieces of medieval and modern architectural wonders, in conjunction with its profound historical significance, has indelibly imprinted itself upon my consciousness. The grandeur of Prague’s historical structures, most notably the Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge, remains without equal. My fervent desire to return to Prague is ignited by its status as a radiant beacon within Europe, offering a synthesis of historical enchantment and enriching experiences. I ardently anticipate the opportunity to once again immerse myself in the majesty and historical weave of this remarkable city.

Bravo! A beautiful and well-balanced rendition of the much beloved "Vltava" ("The Moldau"), the 2nd "movement" (so to speak) of Smetana's great symphonic tone poem "Ma Vlast" ("My Country"). Despite some strangely negative comments about the conductor that I read here, I found Marzena Diakun's baton techniques excellent: clear beat, effective, graceful, and nuanced hand gestures. She faithfully articulated what Smetana put down in the score. That's the primary responsibility of the conductor/interpreter. If you have ever played in an orchestra, I believe you would be pleased with Marzena's direction. (This is my overall view based on just this live performance. I believe the musicians themselves can tell us more about playing under her baton.) I wish she and the orchestra would get to play the complete six "movements" of this one of the grandest orchestral pieces since Beethoven.

Hello, I enjoyed your comments. I’m 86 y/o and can still remember the first time I heard this gorgeous composition and loved it so much I saved my lunch money to buy a recording! It took a while at .25, but I got it! I was about 14-15 y/o. We are so blessed today having such incredible orchestras performing and recording this lovely music with the finest yet audio and video technology. Peace!
I really like the work of the recording technicians here. Very clear and discernible instruments while getting that lovely reverb in the hall. Not sure about some of the phrasing in parts from the conductor. Sometimes it's better to go by what the composer wrote rather than putting in your own 2 cents. This is a nostalgic peace full of love for the countryside. Let that feeling sweep you and make the melodies sing. Don't stick your big ego head in there.
I have to tell you that I disagree with your premise that each piece should have one standard interpretation and sound. When I am at a concert and hear something which I am not expecting, like a new phrasing or a slight hesitation where I have never heard one before, I find it to be exciting! We are MAKING MUSIC and it is on the pages waiting to be brought to life. The same thing over and over becomes trite very quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed this conductor!
It is curious how the theme of this wonderful piece goes back to the 15-16's renaissance centuries and all around Europe, not sure if originated from Italy and currently is the hymn of Israel.
Magnificent music but uncomfortable presence of masked musicians; very difficult to look at for people with a mask phobia... I listened to this without the picture.

One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever! 🤗💞
It's what got me hooked on classical music !

Heavy metal better
Saw the Austin Symphony play this last weekend. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites.
What an astonishing conductor and orchestra- technically, musically and emotionally delicate and outstanding. Thank you for sharing!!

My favorite symphony, thanks millions❤❣💓
What Symphony?
I love Smetana.
It's not a symphony.

funny how the Germanic name for the river Vltava is the same as for a river and province in Romania ...

Somehow, with that long black coat and dark hair, she reminds me of Charlie Chaplin. Mind you all, I'm a big fan of both.
Easy harmony. Tree of life by malick
WOW, I´m czech and I wonder how you play Smetana's Moldau. Passion for the music .... EXCELENT not BRILIANT, THANK YOU
Who is the conductor!!??
Marzena Diakun....
The principals work hard to keep it together. The conductor looks like she's not enjoying the moment.
SOMEONE HELP
I have a strong feeling we're in the same music class looking for the same answer
Same lmao
I think it’s the pizzicato because that is when they pluck the strings of the violin. I don’t think it’s the legato or mute.
may you both pass the exam , thanks

It's all just an expansion of this children's song - ua-cam.com/video/RynBixeMjZ4/v-deo.html
Marzena's horse got tired. Version without force. Very bad
The fact of the poem wins. Nice song
🤦♀️
The conductor is horrible ! ! !
It does feel more restrained than usual
🤦♀️
women are not conductors
