The subtitles in the firing scene are not correct. Alex actually says "...in the hope that you'll treat our past issues loyally and confidentially." No one says NDA.
In surface only but that's because of her function as prime minister: there are tensions between her being Birgit and her being Prime Minister and I think that episode 10 of series 1 encapsulates it best as she's forced to fire her friend Bent from government and then loses it! The scene is very vibrant, probably the best of the whole series
@@amyp2942 Basically all of us none-anglophones have to make a choice when we speak English - which English accent do we want to imitate? British English? American English? Australian English? None of those choices are natural. Most of us opt for the slightly upper class English. If she tried to do a cockney accent or a Scottish one it would just be seen as even more artificial or 'wooden' if you like.
Just LOVED this series, and Sidse was amazing in that role. First time I had watched Danish drama and was smitten from the start.
