Mergim you are a true travel vlogger....you really know how to discover the gems in the places you go to!!! Cheers to more adventures may it be in the Philippines or in other countries.
Thank you for showcasing Vigan... I've enjoyed watching it and also thank you for showing all the places you've been. Ilocanos are also very friendly. Philippine tourism has really a lot to offer. Take care as always Mergim! 😊❤
One of your best vlogs is this in Vigan.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I wish more people will watch it. I had no idea how Vigan is like and…. Wow! This is the Philippines during the Spanish times - the buildings, karitela/kalesa, church, plaza, small streets, layout of the place is like in Spain. I was surprised how well preserved and clean it is. Thank you for taking us there and appreciate the history, food and place itself. Vigan longganisa is quite famous and all the others that you had. Some regions/provinces have their own version of longganisa and their take on adobo and other Filipino dishes. You should visit Pampanga for a culinary adventure as they are known for good food and crafts as well furnitures made there and the famous Lantern Festival in December before Christmas.
Before, I watched your food vlog as educational. NOW, because you eat like a local, I begin to salivate and hungry watching your vlogs. But I can't get an original vigan langonisa near me this late in the afternoon here in Manila. Enjoy !!
I've never been to Vigan. This episode brought back some memories when I visited my Grandparents antique ancestral homes. The streets at night was so illuminated and the old designed homes and restaurants in both sides of the streets created a typical Spanish village in the colonial period. I feel like I was transported back to the 1900s while watching it. Good job👏👏👏👏
Mergim great idea sharing bibingka with the workers and for truly enjoying your Vigan trip to the point of being emotional when it was time to leave. We always look forward to your vlogs especially when you travel and explore the beauty of the 🇵🇭 may it be in Vigan or any of the islands. For us, who are far away from the motherland, what you show us is the best ! You keep us entertained daily and we always get excited watching your vlogs!
You are living the life, man! I used to travel a lot when I was your age but we didn’t have the idea of vlogging before. I’m 38 now. I’ll just let you do the traveling for me. I’ll watch every video you post from now on . Stay safe my friend.
Awesome videos of Vigan, Mergim! Will definitely go there next time. It actually reminded us of the streets of Italy. Best bibingkas are the ones made on the small street stalls.
Thank you as always for sharing your adventures, Mergim. You truly bring us closer to our home country. Next time explore mountain province: batad, banawe and sagada. You will never round out of places in the northern part of the Philippines. Mountain province, Apayao and Batanes.
One of the best things about the Philippines is that Animals can even understand English @4:40, lol. good job Mergim, thanks for showing the beauty of Ilocos Region.
Next time cross the other side, the eastern side, the Cagayan Valley Region (Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino - Provinces) There is so much to visit and to do there including unique delicacies. Like The Callao Cave Church (Church inside the underground Cave), Sta. Ana White Beaches, River Rafting, Mountain adventure, Hot springs, etc. Cheers!
You should visit Baluarte ni Singson next time. And you must leave ilocos on daytime so can see the view of the ocean and the rice farms.... In Paoay you did not visit the Malacanang of the North.
Great series on Vigan. I had no idea how much it has to offer. Wow! Love the Spanish style buildings and streets; didn't realize they still use the horse drawn carriages/kalesa. Enjoyed the food tour as well. Thanks Mergim!
Ive been to Vigan a beautiful with its rich Spanish colonial heritage especially at Calle Crisologo its like you just step into a time machine and went back to its old colonial era .
I felt the same thing.. When we visit Ilocos Sur (South) and Ilocos Norte (North).. we easily fell in love with the beauty and esthetic of the place specially in Vigan... We've been there for about 3 days and 2 nights way back December 2018, and when finally it's our time to depart the area it feels very nostalgic and I feel like I don't wanna go home anymore.. I'll try to visit again maybe with my friend or Family
So so yummy Vigan delicacies you tasted Mergim. I envy your travel vlogs to Ilocos....sayang you stayed so shortly...so bitin.... hopefully you'll go back with friends Sho n Justin. Great video as always. Thank you Mergim. God bless
my hometown. Havent been here for 22 years and so much has changed. I actually grew up on that very street you are in now which is so famous for tourists. Back in the late 90s, there were barely any lights nor establishments there and no tourists ever visited the city.

Try the cuisines of Iloilo, the very original and authentic sisig in Pampanga. Try the coco milk and delish desserts of the Bicol and Visayan regions, and even the Mindanao.
the nearest heritage town in Manila similar to Vigan is Taal, Batanggas and Sariaya in Quezon which is not known to many but it's a heritage town for art deco buildings similar to Napier, New Zealand
Totally enjoyed your Ilocos vlogs! Next time you might want to go to the Bicol region. If you do that, swing by San Pablo, Laguna, Villa Escudero, some places in the Quezon province and whilst in Bicol, don’t forget to go to Caramoan and Sorsogon. Safe travels, Mergim!

Thank u for staying a little bit longer in the Philippines. Showcasing the culture, foods, tourist spots of the Philippines. I hope that the Tourism Dept recognised ur effort for showcasing the beauty of the Phililpines.
I hope that your still at Vigan. At the back of the village is a zoo called "Balwarte". Go visit and feed the camels and see the lions of the former governor Chavit Singson.
Idol Mergim, Dinagyang Festivals in Iloilo City have just started from Jan. 12 - 28, 2024 and also Sinulog Festivals in Cebu. Safe travel back to Manila sir...
You're in Vigan but you did not yet explore the mountains of Ilocos and Cordillera it would also be epic but just don't fall on the ravine and landslides.
great video! You should have tried the Casa Jardin's empanada. They make it fresh, softer, and a little larger! The one you ate was pre-heated, it came from an oven, so its not as fresh. Casa Jardin is just adjacent to Calle Crisologo, next time, maybe
Wahoo Mergim this was cool, I see you couple of weeks a go exiting the elevator at our apartment in BGC Uptown Tower 1 and you are pretty tall so I think that all that food and calories you will be able to burn it fast, it would have been nice to have a chat over a coffe downstairs at Wildflower caffe, but I'm all-ready back in LA,
I'm quite disappointed that you didn't go where the authentic Ilocos empanada and longganisa are from. The Vigan variants are not the famous ones, they're just famous for the site, not the food though, lol. The ones in Batac, just beside Paoay in Ilocos Norte ARE famous ones. Anyway, there's always "next time".
Try Marsha’s brownies, the corniks, bagnet, pancit bihon hubad, malunggay pandesal, malunggay ice cream that changes color when dripped by calamansi. Also try the pinakbet pizza
That’s right. You’re supposed to make the most of your stay whenever you visit a place and trying the food in that area should be part of your list of things to do.
the vigan longanisa contains fat that melts and makes the sausage very tasty, in turn makes it shrink. abra is on the the other side of the mountain, which is my home province.
Hi just wanna thank you for checking out the OG...most authentic Pinoy foods and delicacies in our Country...we appreciate you! Just first watching your vlogs make me think to travel again!!!❤
Difference between Bagnet and Lechon Kawali is that Bagnet is simply crispier and more natural in a way that it doesn't have lots of ingredients throwed in it Also, Pinakbet is one of my favorite vegetable dish BUT kinda sad why the Pinakbet there doesn't have squash because I always prefer pinakbet with squash AND lastly, 1.4k pesos for all that? That's a bit expensive BUT it's a restaurant so I guess that's fine? I really wish the KARINDERYA or basically the whole LOCAL FILIPINO FOOD business in the Philippines blooms so that we can get more affordable and more accessible Filipino dish because honestly in a Karinderya, you can get a Pinakbet for like 30-40 pesos only (no bagnet, with bagnet it's more expensive), the common red sweet longganisa for like 10-20 pesos each, a sisig for like a 50-80 pesos, a Pork Sinigang for 40-50 pesos, a Chopseuy for 30-40 pesos Instead, we only have limited options for it and the prices are like 2-3x more than usual
Great town, touristy but not too much, you experience more culture than tourist traps like Boracay. If you want to see similar towns like this nearer to the capital, you might want to take a look at the province of Laguna.
Yes I’m from Laguna and I’d love that!!! Daming towns sa laguna like Paete, San Pablo, Bay, Pagsanjan Falls, Victoria a pala Dani and also Batangas and Cavite
Actually the nearest heritage town similar to Vigan is Taal, Batanggas and Sariaya in Quezon which is not known to many but it's a heritage town for art deco buildings similar to Napier, New Zealand
Bagnet is Ilocos own version of Krispy Pata or Lechon Kawali, which they also used and added it to various Ilocano dishes, Pakbet or Pinakbet, Empanada etc.
