You were comparing the street food of Bangkok to the food price in BGC ( which is the most expensive place in the Philippines ). You should compare if you had some street food in Tondo or Chinatown in Ongpin.
I really don't understand why, if you're living in Manila long-term, you eat out all the time. It's a colossal waste of money. Even just eating street food, you're spending the equivalent of 16k Pesos a month. That's crazy. I spend about 2k Pesos a week in the supermarket (a mix of Landers, SM Hypermarket, Ayala Marketplace, some wet market, to feed 2 people) and cook myself. I eat good meals (I have lived in Asia for 36 years and learned to cook all sorts of different cuisines).
I would surmise food is cheaper in Bangkok than BGC or Manila. They do not have natural calamities like Philippines which trigger prices to go up so maybe their food supply and system to produce is more stable, advanced,. and sustaining. This helps control inflation resulting in cheaper prices overall.
The mall prices is pretty much the same and the street food prices I find PH to be slightly cheaper. A comparisson based on this video Chicken Noodle Soup: 80php equivalent to baht, you can find something similar to that like a chicken mami overload or pares overload for around 70-100php with also the same condiments Watermelon: 20baht(30php) would be around 20-25php here in the streets of Metro Manila Mango sticky rice: 96php, PH mango is normally more sweeter so we don't put sauce in it. We also don't eat it with sticky rice but 1 pcs of mango here would be 50-60php The dish they ate like the pad thai and the chicken rice, prices is similar to the ones we ate at Karinderyas The prices ranges around 40-70 php in the typical Karinderyas The problem is you almost can't find those stuff if you're living in places like the BGC or Makati. In BGC that would be the Brgy. Pitogo in South Cembo where Mergim goes before BUT I've been there and the prices are cheaper when compared to malls but still a bit more expensive when compared to the typical Karinderyas. For locals like us, karinderyas and public market are easy to find and comfortable for us but for tourist I would say it would be hard and uncomfortable to them
Cos tourist and inflation made prices increase... Thailand a bit higher prices or almost the same to Philippines prices. When i was in Thailand is very cheap there, now prices are accelerate.
Love this mergim! Miss Thailand! Had the best time there last December and January! Me and my husband always have the best time there and enjoy the food a lot! Keep safe mergim! Cheers! ❤ hellooo from Gold Coast Australia!!!❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Why do you even compare the prices of BGC mall food to Bangkok street food?, of course the street food will always be cheaper than mall food..and i think when it comes to street food Philippines is still cheaper but mall food almost the same.
There are many stalls in the malls food courts that are approximately the same prices as the street foods in Thailand ☺️ (Terminal 21 for example has meals for 30 baht:D)
@@CheeseeeeeSoooooo I learn Thai because of the movie but Philippines look behind Thailand every aspect like, economy ,tourism, iq infrastructure , movie, lol

The only food that disagrees with me in Thailand is banana roti. Anyone who is feeling backed up need look no further - take something to read because you will be on the John for a while. The only serious food poisoning I've had was from curdled milk in a coffee in Cambodia - otherwise I have cast-iron guts ;)
I live on one of the most expensive islands in the Seychelles. I eat at home 365 days a year me and my wife are not poor like say a middle class citizen. I bet you it is more expensive than eating street food in Thailand or the Philippines everyday to cook your own food at home in the Seychelles . Here a simple take away box food will costs around 250 pesos, two pieces of fried chicken with fries and ketchup around 300 pesos. Any meals sit at a table in a restaurant here you must prepare around 2500 Pesos for 2 people that is minimum. A good cheeseburger is prepared in the range of 500 pesos on a side road vendor, in a restaurant in a plate plus chips over 1000 pesos. A pizza here lets say a Margarita minimum 500 pesos. That is why we never go out for food we cook everything at home the entire year. That is why I can survive the traditional Philippines way of life. I need the comfort of my home as priorities here. Even food in supermarkets are expensive to buy, a 500 ml can of beers in a shop here costs 5.5 US$, one liter of coke 3 dollars, a kilo of rice 3 $, one 750 ml water $ 1.5 , electricity and water are not cheap either. If you have a car then here it will be more costly than taking care of your wife and two children.
The 12% VAC makes PH food prices higher. Also, many places including some food courts are charging up to a 10% service charge. So this 22% really adds a lot to the total price of one’s meal. One gets nickeled and dime to death in PH.
Thailand food street is not look safe in clean even around and I been some places in Thailand lots of dirty and for me look it’s clean in the Philippines food than in Thai food street because I can see it around
I am Filipino but my most favorite dish is Thai food. Because of the complexity of cooking their dish and the spices. I love their food but I would never go to Thailand. We have enough authentic Thai food here in the PH.

Thailand is cheaper because they only have 7%vat while 12%vat in the Philippines. Philippines has the highest vat in ASEAN.
