This guy hit the nail on the head about maturity, I joined up in 74 pvr 2 weeks before pass out, (was homesick) as I walking out the camp gates a SSgt said to me, you will be back. 12 months later I signed back up, the first person I saw entering that camp was that SSgt, he shook my hand and welcomed me back, the instructors were arguing which section I went with as I opted to go through basic, what a great time I had in that 18weeks , as I’d got myself ready and fit. Happy days..
