  • A complete step by step build of the Sunbeam reissues by Round 2 models under the AMT brand. This is an old tooling from the 60s and so we encounter a few difficulties but overall it is a fun kit and the end result is good. The molded trim and badges was a bit of a disappointment but understandable given the age of the kit itself. With a custom decal sheet and a little ingenuity, you could create your own decals to go over the molded badges but it is a shame that Round 2 did not include that with their decal sheet.

      Thank you for the compliment. I am pleased overall with the outcome. It is quite an old tooling.

      This turned out to be a lot more fun to build than I thought it was going to be. Obviously a very old tooling but still went together pretty good. I actually would like to try this one again with the skills I have acquired over the last year and the more streamlined filming I have adopted. We will see, still have so much to build in my pile! haha.

      @@ScaleAutoGarage it's a very old tool for sure and I have the original Get Smart Sunbeam model kit from AMT still in the original box, it's the logo for my UA-cam channel and I would love to see you build it again!

    Excellent as always...................Didn't the kit come with a drivers side rear view mirror?

      There may have been one in the kit, I don't actually recall. I will be honest, pretty new here to both car building and UA-cam filming so I may have left it out just to be 'finished' 😂

    Lovely build! Makes me want a make a convertible too. Shame that the Britishl 2 seater soft top is basically gone. 😔

      This one was pretty good considering the age of the kit. I enjoyed it and the outcome was what I was looking for. I also miss the days of the 2 seater Roadster. Your cobra is looking pretty good. Can't wait to see the final.

    I'm curious. Did you do the windscreen frame with the pen as well, or foil it? What did you use to glue the seats in?

    • @ScaleAutoGarage
      @ScaleAutoGarage  3 роки тому

      The windscreen was using the pen as well. Turned out pretty decent I think. For glue I mostly use Bob Smith's super gold plus which doesn't fog windows. I do also use Tamiya extra thin and sometimes just basic white glue for windows and lenses.

      @@ScaleAutoGarage Yes, the windscreen frame turned out quite nice, which was why I was asking. As for the glue, you flocked the floor pan before gluing in the seats, which was why I was wondering what you were using.

      @@Rabblewitz ah, I understand. For the carpet I used embossing powder, not flocking but the execution is the same either way. Then I use the superglue on the seats to keep them in place. Hope that helps.
