- Boeing is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) for a United Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 flight that experienced a stuck rudder pedal upon landing at its base at Newark Liberty International Airport. The flight, UA1539, had operated from Nassau, Bahamas, and experienced the malfunction during touchdown at the New York airport on February 6th.

Well, at least the accident rate of F-15's and AV-8's is much better than this ... right ?
The rudder is just so symbolic of the way Boeing have lost direction...

But i'd say that this incident this time could be Pilot error.
Agreed, seems to be pilot related versus aircraft related. Houston got rain, and was probably moving to quickly and slid off
First step from Boeing board of directors is to remove ALL former McDonald-Douglas management "profit before quality and safety" point of view personnel from positions of decision making.
Their entire board is in bed with mcdd plus the FAA and all the congressmen in their pockets. No scapegoating now.
What? And lose all that bonus money?
Brings back memories of the two 737’s that went / spiralled in during the early 70’s with stuck full position rudders. Need to be grounded.
Maybe Boeing decided to re-install the old Rudder system (which caused the crashes) because that old system is cheaper.

Listening to todays Senate hearing on the Alaska Airlines incident, Boeing have yet to provide any documentation or even the names of the people involved with removing and refitting the door.
Nothing's changed at Boeing.
That is the worst part. Boeing/Alaska/Spirit can't even identify the people involved. To the best of my knowledge, Spirt was the last entity to have serviced the door.

Just make them work like they do on smaller aircraft. I mean, the rudder getting stuck sounds like a terrifying accident waiting to happen, but rudders don't really matter when taxiing on smaller aircraft. Unless things have changed since then. Long long time ago I took a flight in a single engine plane. Pilot, a friend, allowed me (sitting in co-pilot seat but definitely not a pilot) to taxi into position. Essentially, the rudder meant nothing in that situation as the pedals really just acted as brakes. Push em one way, wheels stop. Push em the other, propeller pulls the airplane along as you have released the brake. Need to turn left? Brake left, Free Right. Need to turn right? Brake right, free left. Need to go straight? Free L/R. Need to stop and wait? Brake L/R.
