Poor Phelan, he spent so much money on all of these bootlegs, that he has none left for food and is reduced to gnawing on instruction sheets. It's only a matter of time before he gets into the toxic TMNT knock-offs and we lose him.

The box packaging of the “Game” looks almost like a VHS box.

I guess the "devil crawl" is supposed to be "devil claw", which I guess is their name for the chain-claw that not-Goku is holding on the box art. You were sometimes doing claw attacks instead of punches, and you can see the various claw attacks during the screen test that occurred when you inserted the batteries. As for the "Shen Long" guy on the box art, that was the Zangief guy in the game. The box art shows him holding nunchucks, and the screen test shows the various arm/nunchuck positions; I've no idea why he spent most of his game time being displayed armless.
I did wonder if it was going to be that game Ashens used to show, where the fighters rip their own arms off and throw them at their opponent.
More games could probably use that.

I'm honestly shocked at how in depth the instructions for the game were. Even some official Nintendo LCD games I have didn't come with close to that much info.
Just listening to the boops and beeps of this game forever is the soundtrack that plays on loop in Hell.
Bootleg Zones is one of the best and funniest UA-cam series.

I'm pretty surprised all of the guys in the game are presented on the box art, and vice-versa. After you've played the game a bit, the seemingly nonsensical instructions actually start to be coherent, too. Enemies seem to take at least two punches/kicks to take down, but can be defeated instantly with the sword or "devil crawl". Similarly, bison takes a couple punches/kicks to lose 1 bar of energy, and presumably loses a full bar for each hit from the weapons. Running forward does also seem to restore your energy for some reason. So, yeah, as far as LCD games go, it's surprisingly competent.

At 10:45 or so you did get the "Devil Crawl" - they meant devil claw, that weird rake-like weapon on a chain. I dunno what the japanese name is.
Whoever did that box art actually used a surprisingly robust amount of relevant references. If they ever decide to move up to making bootleg portables full of roms, that artist probably already has a collection of the ones that are actually worth playing.
L. Bosom was my favorite character from Super Fighter, although Danka, Delgog, and Uyr are pretty good.

The Hair, the lack of a shirt, the green glow effect on the box art. I think the guy you fight in the air is suppose to be Blanka.
I couldn't tell if anyone on that screen was making contact with anyone or anything else. But maybe that's just me.
When the whole four languages across the spine of the VCR box didn't match up with where it was sold or being reviewed; I facepalmed hard enough to go comatose for a few minutes. I'm gonna go lay down. I would recommend that too to Phelous and anyone else who witnessed this.

The Nintendo Game and Watch was serviceable.
there are some popstations that have some serviceable games, but unless it can be displayed by moving blocks, then it's not happening.
A few years back, Nintendo released some newer game and watch-ish things that were pretty fun actually! I have a Mario Brothers one that's actually a functional platformer, with boss levels and everything, as well as Cement Factory. Tempted to record them if I can get them some batteries.
The Legend of Zelda Dual Screen game was pretty good.
Most Nintendo LCD games were actually playable.
I think I love "Bomb Guile" more than I should.

About the box art: The bottom left guy is a fan of the top left guy, as shown by the picture of the other guys hair on his shirt.

honestly? I might not know a lot of lcds, but this thing at least looks... like it has some actual stuff to do, only lcd games I had were crappy 'move left and right dodging/collecting falling things' games, this thing blows them out of the water XD, I think i'd have gone crazy for this as a kid
on the box, the guy in front of Bison is definitely a white Blanka
I think, given this was probably based on SF2, bare chested guy is probably a unmutated Blanka, given that, of the only other bare chested men, one is bald and the other a sumo, and Zangeif is already represented with beard guy, so that just leaves Blanka.
I have a feeling the devil crawl is just that IRON CLAW! on the cover misspelled, because its a crappy bootleg.
Guile looks more like polnareff then stronghiem with that black tank top.
I'd say, Polnareff if he hit the sunbathing machine and decided that a post apocalyptic mohawk is the only haircut style a true man can get.

I think theres only a few bootlegs LCD games and late 90's and early 2000's
that are "good" as the gameboy
as it's LCD that uses pixels instead the static pictures for the gameplay, like the digi-pets technology.
and because it uses pixels instead, the gameplay is better then generic LCD.
The character below M. Bison on the box art looks more like Liu Kang. Personally, this is the closest thing to a MK Vs SF game we'll ever get to play. :(
