    Great video! I’ve owned a TJ and two JK’s and have had very good luck with them. Plus they hold their value. Bought the TJ for $9,500, kept it for 3 years and sold it for $9,500. Bought a used 07 JK Rubicon Unlimited for $19,500, put 100,000 miles on it and sold it for $16,700. I’ve got a 13 JK Rubicon Unlimited now as a daily driver and am planning on selling it to get the JL Rubicon Unlimited. I’ve really enjoyed my Jeeps!

    I just bought my first ever wrangler yesterday. This is a great video. My brother bought a Compass last and loves it. I'm a Vietnam veteran. I wanted a jeep that looks like a jeep. I drive a hazmat chemical tanker semi truck for a living. Previously I owned Honda Civic. I don't drive my personal vehicle very much, so I wanted something I'd be proud to drive. I feel like a king driving my Wrangler. I probably won't put a thousand miles on it a year. But when I do drive, I want to be driving something special. I feel that whatever you drive reflects your personality. This Wrangler is perfect. I hope i made a wise decision

    "The Grand Tour" (Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May from Top Gear Britain) recently did a South American adventure. Clarkson chose a TJ. At the end of the adventure, they realized that, in all of their big adventures of the years in Top Gear and The Grand Tour, out of all the vehicles they have used, the TJ is the only one that didn't break down/need repair by the end of it.

    I got my ‘16 JK wrangler and since it’s 2020 I think it’s safe to say that owning it for about four years, it’s been a very reliable vehicle. It runs just fine with no mechanical problems at all. My battery had died ONCE because of the weather that it’s in (dead cold in the fall & winter and hot & humid during spring and summer). Any car can be reliable no matter who made it, it just relies on who takes care of it day in and day out. My Jeep has been kickin like a beast, it’s a baby still with only 20,000 miles on it because I don’t drive it every single day.

    I've had two Chrysler vehicles growing up. An 88 Caravan and a 94 Voyager. They were constantly needing repairs including the 88 going through 4 fuel pumps. However, the 88 we bought when I was 3 years old, and it was my first car senior year of high school. While it needed many trips to the mechanic to keep it running, it stayed with us for 15 years and of all the vehicles we had, that 88 Caravan was the hardest one to let go.

    I have had my 2 door Wrangler JL for a year. Has 6,700 miles on it and I've also had almost no problems. It is both my every day ride to work and I off road with it, including taking it to the beach. The two problems I've had are a glitchy nav system on CarPlay, where the Jeep always wants to begin the trip from my original starting location...even if I'm down state and 350 miles from there. Dealer has not been able to find a fix for that. It's not a really big deal. AND I did have a windshield break after about 3 months. Typical stone into the windshield while going about 50 mph. My insurance replaced it with another stock Jeep windshield and it's been fine. Basically, I love my Jeep and could recommend it to anyone.

    Great video thank you! I have the twin Jeep and added Sahara stock wheels.I leased it for concerns of quality with the JL redesign and working out the bugs. I love it. There is a death wobble feel on mine with certain bumps, stabilizer link checked but nothing wrong?? Replaced windshield already due to a rock cracking it and the rear glass on the hard top is on order because the defroster wire fell off. Overall none of that bothers me, it rides great, gas mileage good and acceleration is great! We’ll see in 3 years if I buy it! LOL

      When a car is over 12 years old and start going through wear items that will need to be replaced such as the alternator, torque strut, cv shaft, starter motor, water pump, valve cover gasket, and the dreadfully expensive power steering rack if you have hydraulic power steering thank goodness for electric power steering in newer cars.

I did however install the mopar bug/rock deflector and so far no more broken windows. Darn trucks are so expensive anymore that I hate to even use them as a truck. I like the idea of getting a utility trailer and throwing stuff in that. if you scratch it up just get a rattle can and its good as new.

      Yeah, for two reasons:
      1) I log my fuel economy with Fuelly.com to track expenditure and when ESS was not working, there was a very noticeable decrease in gas mileage for several weeks. As soon as it was repaired and working again, my MPGs immediately went back to normal. So, ESS does definitely work and save $$$.
      2) It's a brand new vehicle and everything on it should be kept working normally.

    Keep an eye on those pan hard rod ends. The bushes start to go at around 50000 miles. They need replacing and the welds near the steering box might be iffy on some JLs. You'll know it when it happens. Don't forget to replace them bushes. The dealer lied to you about the software update. They take the vehicle to a tire shop and they twist the front axle forward 1.5 degrees to give better caster. If you take out the bottom control arm bolt on the axle on one side you will see where they elongate the bolt hole to allow the bottom of the axle to move forward slightly. It's a simple fix that should have been done at the factory but because they rushed the first 45000 units it never got done.

  • @wefukthenwo
    @wefukthenwo 5 років тому

    I wish I had chosen the manual transmission over the automatic because when driving on the tarmac it doesn't always change gears when you know it should change. The high revs uses more gas. You'll find yourself having to take your foot off the gas pedal to get it to change up a gear. Very annoying! Also, having the manual gears is better for descending down a long, steep mountain range as with the auto, you just know the brakes system is glowing hot and wearing out the braking system faster. I like the power and sound of the pentastar 3.6 and I don't think it needs anything larger for this weight class 4x4.

    My JK windshield cracked in half when I hit a bump in the road on a cold night. I've owned a cj and have a TJ also and never had any issues with those windshields.
    The guy at the glass shop in town keeps JK windshields in stock because it's a frequent replacement that they see.
    He told me it's due to the windshield being glued in instead of floating in a seal like previous models. The windshield has to flex with the body which is notoriously thin and weak on JK and JL models.
