all this by ear, no computer, no instant tone corrector, no computer science, just pure talent and hard work. I loved being young in the 60s-70s-80s-90s. So much musical variety, the musical emulsion of that time was fantastic. It seems that you can judge the eras by its music, I hope that the old people of tomorrow will be enthusiastic about their music and their era as I am happy to have lived through mine.
When this came out, 1978, (this performance was '79) they had already been performing for 20 years. The deepest rabbit hole in music...1,000 songs, all great! Enjoy!!
No auto-tune, no back woods tricks just raw talent. In the 60's & 70's and part of the 80's you had to have talent to get these great results. Rest in peace Andy Gibb, Maurice Gibb and Robin Gibb amazing singers who passed way too early.
New sub here. Thanks for appreciating the great Bee Gees! Next you should react to STAYIN ALIVE for a change of pace. BTW they wrote all their own songs as well as hits for other well-known singers.
A beautiful love song written by the Brothers Gibb or Bee Gees. This song came out the end of December 1978. I was still 17. The album Spirits Having Flown was released later in 1979. The first 3 tracks on this album were #1 hits. These last 3 made it 6 six #1 hits in a row by any artist or group. It's been done only by 2 other acts. Elvis Presley and the Beatles. That's awfully good company. 👍
1979 ; maybe you will like the Bee Gees : Stayin' Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Fanny (Be Tender With My Love), How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, I Started A Joke, Massachussets, You Win Again, For Whom The Bell Tolls, etc...
@Tru.Evanna The Bee Gees (The Brothers Gibb) are actual brothers. Barry, the lead; and his fraternal twin brothers, Robin (no beard) and Maurice, pronounced Morris. They started singing in 1958-2003, that’s the year Maurice passed. Robin passed in 2012, leaving only Barry still with us. He turned 78 and also celebrated his 54th wedding anniversary on 9/1/24. They had another brother (Andy Gibb) who had a great solo career. They were very big in the black community back in the day. A lot of their mega hits were in the 70’s. Some of my favorites that also made the soul/R&B charts were: How Deep is Your Love Jive Talking You Should Be Dancing Love You Inside Out Fanny be Tender Love so Right Please jump on The Bee Gees bandwagon! You won’t regret it. They didn’t cuss in their songs and they wrote ALL of their own songs as well as songs for other artists.
@@Tru.Evanna it’s from the movie Saturday Night Fever. You also probably know their biggest hit: Stayin Alive. EVERYONE knows that song and most folks thought black people sung it cause it was used in a lot of old black movies!
@Sandra6411 lol ok yes I could see that. I could imagine their reaction when they saw it was them🤣💝. I can’t wait to see what’s next 💗and see what songs I may know.
Welcome to Bee Gees very large catalogue. Some of my favorites are Wind of change (1979), Words (1989 in Melbourne performance), I Surrender, DejaVu, Obsessions, Kiss of life and Wedding Day❤❤❤❤,
I listen to this song every day. It was released 1978. I am a black female. I was married 1977. If it had been released in 1977, it would have been one of the songs in my wedding. A little background. Barry Gibb (middle) September 1, 1946. He and his wife Linda have been married for 54 years. They were married on Sept. 1, 1970, which was also his 24th birthday. They have 4 sons and one daughter who is the youngest. Also, 7 grandchildren. If you can see, Barry's chest is shiny with blotches because when he was about 18 months, he pulled a pot of hot tea from off of a table. His mom said he didn't speak for a long time (close to 2 years.) He was close to dying because there was no skin grafting back then and gangrene was beginning to set in. Barry said he has no memory of it happening, just the scars to prove. One of his sons was named after Michael Jackson. Barry did say that MJ was his son's Godfather. I saw a video where Barry said Michael Jackson visited him a lot. Here is a short video clip from the song they recorded: All in Your Name ua-cam.com/video/4lFysu2AOuM/v-deo.htmlsi=PiSBBxg_OSf2nfZ0 Robin (on our left - long hair) and Maurice (on our right - short hair) were fraternal twins. Maurice Gibb (December 22, 1949 - January 12, 2003) heart attack, while getting surgery for twisted intestines. Survived by his wife and 2 adult children. Robin Gibb (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) doctors found out he had the same intestinal problems as Maurice. When they went in to fix it, they found cancer. He is survived by his wife and 4 adult children. Andy Gibb (March 5, 1958 - March 10, 1988) He was too young to sing with his brothers. He had his own successful career. He and Barry could have been identical twins. He had a bad heart. Andy is survived by one daughter. You know the song 'Emotion' sung by Destiny's Child? Well --- the brothers wrote the song (1977) for the singer Samantha Sang. IMO, Destiny's Child has too much drama in it. But Barry said he liked it. Emotion ua-cam.com/video/b_wTZjo9azk/v-deo.htmlsi=Y863cKzsfSsxKiTP They wrote their own songs and wrote and produced songs for a lot of other artists. Barry didn't always sing in falsetto. They were asked if someone could sing falsetto on a song. Barry volunteered, and the rest is history. Robin sings falsetto too. On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley (Gibb) Evans. (January 12, 1945.) She can sing, but she did not want to be in the limelight. She lives a quiet life. She and Barry are the last two survivors of the family. Their parents are deceased also. Maurice passed away on Lesley's 58th birthday. They were so popular that some radio stations had a 'Bee Gees free' weekend. NO requests for their songs. There's so much to write about them. In your spare time, I think you'll like what they have contributed to the music industry. I think I have a hobby of following Bee Gees reactions almost nightly and it's always still moving.

There much higher than that
They had 6 number one hits on the same album tied with the Beatles

Oooooo lol 1979 ok thank you. I wonder is this song considered Odie but goodies. Not sure if I’m saying it right 😊

What was that interruption in the middle? It broke up the song and it made no sense at all.
After "Too Much Heaven" was released, too much semen followed.
Borderline patronising
