Just did the same thing with my mini last Sunday and I agree - they are more than capable. Also agree with a higher blade and the ability to angle the blade would make it perfect. One more reason I need a 220 MIG and a plasma cutter. Diverter off the thumb hydraulics and some modifications to current blade / frame and it's a real possibility. Wish I had thought about that in August!
It sounds like the posts to the top cover could use some cross bracing to stop the rattling or squeeking. The front blade could benefit by a strip of tire tread bolted along the top to "curl the snow forward and prevent it from going straight up and over toward you feet? Still a fun toy to play on when the snow comes or a zillion other projects we usually handle with a shovel. I was looking to see if you would practice using the bucket to pick up the larger balls of snow that fell off to the side.
I have a 2023 Kymron YH14, I've used it a handful of times to move snow. I agree with exactly what you said. A higher blade, that you can tilt, would make a huge difference. I used my YH14 to plow 2' of snow. It took a long time but I never got stuck and got the job done. I've since gotten a plow for my UTV. I'm waiting for a big snow storm to put that to use. With the XH20D, are you able to use 2 speed and move the blade up and down at the same time? Or is the 2 speed only for tracking? I've considered upgrading to the XH20D primarily for the 2 speed and better stability. My property is very hilly, so the better stability would be a game changer for me. Thanks for the great vids!
The two speed is awesome. High is only for straight lines. It’s a flip of a switch for low, so it’s super easy to flip it and use the blade. My one ton would have worked for the snow but honestly, I don’t like to use it anymore now that I have this new machine. lol. Thanks for the comment!!
I would like to see the cabin tour. I’m getting ready to build mine in a few years in wv and try to see every cabin I can for ideas on mine and I will be building on rock so I like what you have.
I manage a collision repair shop. I also like to buy machines and get myself into debt for toys. Haha. They are paying for themselves slowly but surely. Investing into growing my channel here and it’s working so far.
I saw a good idea for the blade or buck on the excavator or mini skid.. Add a piece to PVC pipe to the edge to prevent hitting cracks and uplifts on sidewalks, carports, and driveways. Just cut a groove in the PVC pipe to slide it on the bottom edge.
Seems like it does a fine job on the snow. Was impressed with how easily it handled the hill.
I was too!!! I was worried at first honestly.

A 110 mig will weld up most thing you need. Harbor Fright has a 125 mig i use. On sale it's 150.00. Only drawback is 2 pound roll instead of 10 pound
Yeah it’s awesome. I got a plasma recently on Amazon and it works great. Only $200 is pretty awesome!

Great ideas. Things I can try if it ever snows again here in Oklahoma. Haha. It was a rare once in a lifetime event to have that much snow here.
better than shoveling!! thats for sure!! Best, -- J. Andre. / Old Iron Acres
Agreed! Thank you sir.

@@OurLifeInTreesThanks so much for the response! I am really interested in upgrading my YH14 to a larger, more stable, and quicker excavator.
@@ColoradoCampermanI’m sure there are plenty of options, but this xH20D is awesome to me. Coming from my one ton, it’s just night and day different.

I plan to do a final walkthrough when it’s done done. It’s only kinda done now. lol. Should be within a month or so.
Do you put any anti-gel in the diesel?
No. Never heard of it.
What do you do for a living that you have all these machines if you’re not actually using them for a trade job or anything like that?

a snow plow on front on one of the mini skidloaders would probably be even nicer
Probably true.
Does blade have any dow pressure for ice removal
Of course, it will lift the excavator off the ground.
Oh yeah. All the down pressure you want.
Thanks @@OurLifeInTrees
Does the dozer blade have a float option?
I wish.

Ohhh that’s a great idea! Thanks
Good deal.
