Last song my mother and I listened to together before her passing in 1985. I was 16, she was just 38. I'll never forget it! Still brings me to tears. Beautiful!
This song is one of a kind but thanks to technology and resources like UA-cam, younger generations can discover and enjoy this music. It can also influence young artists and inspire them to incorporate this style into newer music.
As an 80s baby I remember all the backyard bbqs and get togethers we had growing up back then listening to gems like these. Good sweet spirits, just happy and enjoying life
I was 9 when this came out, but I remember it being powerful. Even as a kid. I also remember when Marvin passed, because my Mother was in the living room crying, playing his records...iit's one of the few images I still have in my head from that young.
First time I heard this, Florida bound, driving through Atlanta in the middle of the night a mystical experience in itself, but this just brought it home.
My brother passed last year, and there's just something about these black men singing their brothers over to the other side...I can't explain it. This is the only song that really explains how I feel
I get it, girl. This song just speaks to you - the real you, inside. It does me the same way & always has. I may be a white chick, but I know deep music when I hear it. I loved this song my entire life.

I've heard this many times in the past, playing on a radio in a restaurant, from a passing car, over the in-store speakers of a store where i was shopping... always found it a catchy tune! Then, I discovered who sang it and the title... and the honorable tribute that it paid to talented singers like Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson... and knew that I must have a copy of it! What an incredible song it is, too! Good tempo, pleasant to hear on a summer day... just some really "feel good music!"

I remember hearing this song many times with my coworker in an amusement park hotel at the end of our extended shifts at about midnight (we started work at 8am). Brings back memories, song really fit our work. Great memories!
No words of mine could ever do this song justice, as it is beyond beautiful...as soulfully moving, dream inducing, relaxing, sweetly poignant & magically evocative of all that is steeped in mellow rapture, loving reflection & pure, all consuming serenity as any piece of music ever has been, beautifully endearing to the soul as it is, & sung with this smooth, soothing grace, this voice that is as velvety & sublime as any ever recorded. Heavenly. Music such as this cannot be improved upon, at least not within this Earthly paradise.
Love that synthisized bass sound on this record. Most 80s artists went to this sound & it sounded cheesy often but this sounds great! Perfect production on here.
Last night I fell asleep listening to this on loop and proceeded to have a dream in which I was hiking up a mountain to bury a recently deceased friend per their dying request. As this song went on in my dream I felt a sense of tranquility and fulfillment. I woke up wishing I could go back and bury him. I know it’s just a dream but something about it felt so real to me.
