Its just the Abyss: It's not cruel or unfair, it's just a massive, challenging specialized environment that will kill you if you make even the slightest mistake, or even if you do everything right sometimes. Plus, so far it's been shown that the humans living or traveling to the Abyss are often the cruel and violent ones, much more so than the place itself.

I jumped on ytb after ep 10 to feel even more. This is definitely the kind of show you will wish you can forget so you can watch it again. The pacing, ost, animation, story, characters, art direction are all top tier imo
The fact that they brought this iconic OST back in S2 ep 10 already made the episode a 10/10. You just know whenever this starts playing that the scene is going to hit.
I feel like this particular composition is the purest musical manifestation of the phrase, “Goodbye, good luck, and Godspeed.” It feels like something you’d hear before setting off on a life-changing voyage. It’s mournful, tragic, but also uplifting, powerful, and resolute.
I really feel that is a core piece of the series. The world is cruel and often trying to take advantage of you or even destroy you, but we can choose to embrace the brief bits of beauty within it through innocent fascination, and find peace and meaning in it.
I remember when this played at the end of episode one, with Riko introducing Reg to City of Orth. With Sunrise in the background. Honestly one of my favourite moments in the anime.

Ay when I first watched Made in Abyss about a year Ago I didn't realize how good this OST is!!! I rewatched it yesterday bcuz of Season 2 and I just then realized how fucking Beautiful this is.. One of my Top 10 Anime and easily One of my Fav OST's!

My wife and I made this the unofficial theme of our wedding - lots of adversity to overcome between COVID, family drama, & being introverted people at the center of a major social event. By some miracle everything turned out wonderfully - we played this on repeat after it was all over and basking in the performance high that somehow we pulled everything off! 😅
