yeah with deathcore and sub-genres akin to it, you're not always meant to be able to pick out every lyric. The main point of it most of the time is the sound and texture of the screams, not the diction. So I 100% agree.
100% vocals are another instrument, a sound. Obviously you can pick out what they are saying after listening to it a few times but that's beside the point. It's supposed to be human, and not just coming from a wooden instrument but it's, for me, more about the brutality.. The fierceness, that someone with a voice just like mine is emitting these heavy, gutteral or shrieking, intimidating, ANGRY fucking crazy noises.
This is Blackened Deathcore. It's good to see you guys reacting to this track and having your mind blown away even though you're not a fan of deathcore.
You can’t deny the insane musical ability of the musicians and the dedication it must take the vocalist to have that strength and creat those sounds. Incredible. The more I hear this song, the more I love it. Also, nice to see that even though on an initial reaction we didn’t love it, metal heads don’t get their panties in a bunch like doja cat and bts fans haha
@@johnnyneedham9831 absolutely correct. To the Hellfire is a banger for sure and the drumming was so incredible. I've been listening to this track repeatedly ever since it's release. And yeah I agree that we metal heads are far better and open minded than the fans of those pop stars lol.
Fun fact: the final breakdown intro was improvised on the spot in studio. The band told Will "just do something sick here"... And THAT'S what he did. Band was shocked and loved it so they used it.
Austin is a monster on the drums, with his writing and technique to bring in another monster like Will is so fucking sick. If they keep doing this, they are going to dominate. So sick mate.
I literally listen to this song 3 times a day at minimum. My song and breakdown of the year so far. I didn’t think they would top Immortal, whether you hate CJ or don’t, that album still kicks ass. I listened to Will Ramos in A Wake In Providence and have to say he’s a perfect fit for this band. I already pre-ordered the EP and can’t wait till they tour so I can see this insanity live
I played it in the kitchen whilst opening and scared my coworkers. They handled the song fine, but the ending, even my manager came out and asked what the hell I was listening to.
I dont listen to this type of music usually. I listen to mostly metalcore. That being said, this song made my playlist. I love the theatrical side of this song. Bands like shadow of intent and assemble the chariots are heavier than what i usually listen to, but they do what they do sooo well. 🤘
I think I'm just a smidgen leaning more toward Deathcore than you are. I love Deathcore, probably more than any other genre of music... But I hate most deathcore I've heard at the same time. Does that make any sense? When you said you liked this song, and then go on to mention Shadow of Intent, I knew we were on the same page. I had the Reclaimer album by SOI on repeat, literally nonstop, for a ridiculous amount of time.. Like over a year, I listened to mainly that album, with other stuff sprinkled in hahah. It was stupid almost, I never got sick of it though. Bad Deathcore... The stuff that doesn't have anything interesting going on vocally, except some gutteral slams and maybe one high used here and there... And also musically, just some open chugs and some like, a perfect example.. Suicide Silence. I like some of their songs, but it's a mystery to me as to why. They suck honestly, only Mitch's vocals were OKish... The guitarists blow weiner, couldn't write something interesting if they copied off Jason Richardson's test. I just hate bad Deathcore, so I'd always gravitate toward Metalcore, especially when I was younger, like Parkway drive or Alive or Just Breathing by KsE to name some of my favorites. But at the same time my heart is with Deathcore, my top 5 favorite albums in no order has to be The Discovery - Born of Osiris, Exoplanet - The Contortionist, Reclaimer- Shadow of Intent, Awaken the Dreamers - All Shall Perish, and Courting Tragedy and Disaster - Himsa... Those are all pretty damn deathcore lol. Except Himsa, that's the wildcard. I feel bad not including Horizons by Parkway Drive though. Hmm.. Maybe I like Deathcore more than I thought. If you've got time and you feel like it, I'd love to hear your top 5 albums. Do your best of course, something as tough as a top 5 is ever changing, top five in recent history is OK. I just feel like we might have similar tastes, maybe you'll point me to something I just gotta listen to. Or maybe they'll all be some of my favorites too, always gotta love having stuff in common with someone. What are your thoughts on my top five? Sorry this is so long.. This band does the same thing.

The vocalist is Will Ramos he's appeared in other bands songs and has a one take of this which is deadly and a cover with Phoenix Studios of pray for plagues

My capability to understand the lyrics is somehow worse than when I listen to the old ladies of the neighbourhood speak in dialect but I love this ones. You guys should check out Epica, A symphonic heavy metal band from The Netherlands. They released a new album in Febuary called Omega. I recommend Abyss of Time.
yup, his voice in that chorus is so similar to the one and only randy blythe. but i think blythe is one of the metal singer that can make you say "wow, i don't need lyrics everytime he singing with that deep scary voice". he's the only metal singer that can say the word "bones" perfectly lol
Never heard of Lorna Shore until this track, having heard it, the reactions are a bit of a riot. Glad you guys were able to get this one through, hopefully it was worth the headache

This is the peak of deathcore for 2021. Other bands should just let Lorna shore ride this and release their music next year or something, because Lorna shore has set the bar so. F*cking. High.
It did take me a good few listens to understand the lyrics. "Azrael (the Angel of Death) Carry me beyond the veil. Obitual Take me from this mortal shell." Awesome lyric. Followed by "My final breath Swallowed by the womb of death". Not entirely sure I like that one. . Swear to god, that drummer has AT LEAST one extra set of arms and legs. . He’s really mastered the heel/toe technique for the kicks. Search a couple of his play throughs and his feet are going like half the speed (Austin Archey)
Is anyone here old enough to remember the cartoon The Smurfs LOLOL Probably not. (I'm old) Anyway, Azreal was the Wizard's cat so every time I hear WIll say "Azreal, take me beyond the veil", I freakin think of The Smurfs. I'm certain that is NOT the imagery they want the listener to have but.....
I listen to everything. Now this genre I don’t listen to as much because a lot of the songs sound the same. So it’s not the heaviness that bothers me, but the sheer boredom of it all sounding the same, but this song was so unique and so awesome! I love the orchestra in the back ground during the chorus and that solo… Like Jesus Christ. This songs so amazing!!!
The snarling pig like sounds you were hearing were actually inspired by Dickie Allen, the vocalist of Infant Annihilator. I’d recommend checking out the songs Unholy Gravebirth, Blasphemian, Swineacologist, and Soil The Stillborn.
Properly, truly Aussie reaction at 9:25... while completely deadpan, in a country with the 10 most poisonous spiders and 10 most venomous snakes in the world: "Well, guess I'm having nightmares tonight" after watching a (very talented) guy make gutteral demon noises for 5 minutes straight xD
Not my normal style of metal but I completely agree...you just can't deny the skill on display here. This literally sounded like satan skewering dying pigs. Like you, this isn't something I want to listen to often but, in the right moment, this is an epic.
For me; when I can't understand the vocals I try to think of them as another instrument. They still add so much value

I’ve heard this song, a 100 times… more? And I still hold my breath through that whole last breakdown. Just. Un. Real. Never gets old!
It's insane how Will Ramos can be so Gutteral, and yet his clarity is incredible.
The change in clarity is what really put me on Lorna Shore, I didn't really like the previous vocalist (mixing) because of that. He's a legend!
He kicked it up a notch from a Wake in Providence. His voice is badass there, but sooooo much better here.
Can say from experience how hard clarity in volume is. Mad respect.
doesn’t need a lot of layering
I've been listening deathcore since 2004, and this song has the heaviest breakdown I've heard. It's disgustingly brutal.
Same. I'm 44. Went to my first Sam Black Church show in 93 and Pantera in 95.

He’s really mastered the heel/toe technique for the kicks. Search a couple of his play throughs and his feet are going like half the speed (Austin Archey)
Lol I keep getting ads for Mosh, and I litterally just realised who was in the ad...
Pretty much exactly the reaction i expected 😂😂
Even the poo my pants part? Haha

@@johnnyneedham9831 all i can say is I'm glad i was on the shitter when i decided to watch this music video for the first time 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@92SynysterShadows 🤣🤣🤣
YeeeeeZ, that clap in the biningin😮
It's so grand an brutal at the same time. Parts of it gives me Behemoth on crack vibes 😂
Azrael ..on meth Hun he even evokes his name in the song 😉. I know you ment the band tho
@@slantz49 1. Don't "hun" me, thanks dude 2. If you know what I mean, and I know what I wrote, no need to rephrase it :)
@@Vanilja condescending little child I did not rephrase it I added a comment and used word play to joke have a good day HUN
@@slantz49 Haha who's condescending now? And I'm still not hun nor am I close to being a child. But you have a great day too, DUDE 👍🏻
You guys should check out Make Them Suffer - Contraband ft Courtney LaPlante , they just released it
Is anyone here old enough to remember the cartoon The Smurfs LOLOL Probably not. (I'm old)
Anyway, Azreal was the Wizard's cat so every time I hear WIll say "Azreal, take me beyond the veil", I freakin think of The Smurfs. I'm certain that is NOT the imagery they want the listener to have but.....
Hahaha yep I remember the smurfs 🤣
Poo your pants? Hahaha, that hilarious yet random comment has earned my subscription. Right on!!!
Johnny genuinely looked scared in some points throughout this haha
Dude goes from Danny from cradle of filth to alex terrible from slaughter to prevail and then to Randy Blythe from lamb of god all in one song.
Love Lorna and the new vocalist 💦
"I think i'm going to poo my pants" the pronunciation of poo was excellent for this monday! LOL
90% of the time for me it's Deathcore or heavier. I lost my shit when I heard this track. Good reaction guys
