React to I really don’t wanna know 1977 version or make the world go away live version
Yeah, I heard Gigi and the GGVibes of this song “Can’t Help Falling InLove” so good with a new twist. I know Nina will like it as well as we did.🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
J.D Sumner was his bass backing singer. His bottom note is INSANE
Phenomenal!
@@ninaschofield Listen to "Way down" with Elvis. U can really hear J.D Sumners deep voice in that song
I don't know anyone nowadays that could perform at that level in live concert. And also his band and backup singers were just really top professionals. He was really special. And there was nothing fake about him. He was a very genuine artist.
No auto tune ...No lip syncing...Just 💯 talent...👑
Somethin to know. Elvis’ exit was called a 3 minute rule. From the time Elvis puts the mic down and spreads the cape to the time he’s in the car and out it’s 3 minutes or so
1977 confirms "old" Elvis stereotypes. Although 1977 CBS Special included many spectacular moments, it is for educated eyes only.
Exactly! 👍
💯
💯 % 💔👍
I love how this song changed over the years, such an incredible signature song to finish a concert with. His presence on stage and his vocals are incredible, backed by the best band, backing vocalists and orchestra. You heard JD Sumner on that final backing vocal piece. The video you are watching seems slightly chopped, maybe by only a few seconds toward the end of him singing, but having watched this 1000s times something was slightly different. I think you should release your reaction to Elvis in 1977, as a fan we accept Elvis in his prime, at his most amazing but also in his own trials and lows, it makes him so human and so relatable as a person. So I say release it and I know you will handle it with the care it deserves. Awesome upload and thanks.
1977 Elvis How Great Thou Art shows he still had amazing vocals and Presence . Hope you do that one. Love your insight
I was actually at this performance in Hampton Roads Virginia. Only three rows back. The biggest thrill of my life. Thank you for your great reaction.
2024 and still the KING! pleease do more Elvis!
The greatest Entertainer, King of music and entertainment
Greatest voice of all times.
Hampton Roads, Virginia .... 9th April 1972 !!
The ending bass note was J.D. Sumner. To hear amazing bass drop, listen to the recording of Way Down! It’s the final note of the song.
Ah thank you so much for that info! I shall definitely give Way Down a listen :)
its voice was beautiful in that final TV special. the best live version of Cant Help Falling in Love was from the 68 comeback special
Yes, yes and please yes, post the 77 performance of this song. While it’s true that Elvis was in poor health and physical condition at this time, he still gave his best while on stage. It was very important to him that his fans got what they paid for and more. I don’t think anyone had a more demanding touring schedule in the 70s than he did and it clearly took its toll on him. It’s both heartbreaking to watch him struggle to breathe and inspiring to hear his ever incredible voice. In spite of his health, he performed for his fans and that’s why I believe you should post the performance.
My prayers favorite performance is the 1977 version of How Great Thou Art. When he wanted to give praise to God, he gave his absolute all. Simply incredible.
The back up bass singer was JD Sumner. For many years, he was in the book of world records for having the lowest voice in the world. He tells the story of traveling with his gospel group back in the 50s. While in Memphis, he would often allow this young unknown kid named Elvis in the back door because he had no money to buy a ticket. Years later, Elvis would allow JD and the Stamps Quartet in the back door to perform with him in concert.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and enjoyment of Elvis. They are very enjoyable to watch. I would love to see you perform Can’t Help Falling in Love.
Accept your blessings today.
Great reaction. I’m so glad you commented on the last vocal note that dropped. That was JD Sumner. The fellow male back up singers were the Stamps Quartet. He was a legend in his own right and was in the Guinness book of records for having the lowest bass voice in the world. While performing with Elvis, he actually had his own back up singer. If you want to see more of him, I strongly suggest watching him perform “Just a little talk with Jesus” from the Gaither Home Coming videos. You’ll definitely understand why he’s a legend.
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your next reaction.
Omg..I soo enjoy and adore your reactions! You pin point everything so Amazingly! More Elvis please! 🙏😘🔥🔥🫂❤️
Aw thank you so much!
Please react to 1977 HOW GREAT THOU ART and YOU’VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING theses are incredible performances
Please release all you have Nina. We all know Elvis was in a very bad shape in 1977. But we will continue to admire and love him for doing impossible stuff anyway.
He is the King..in good times and in bad times.
Elvis was totally exhausted and constantly touring at the time but his voice was great anyway. Lots of singers lost their vocal ability at times (Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse) but Elvis never lost his voice not even 6 weeks before his death. Elvis was and always will be the greatest frontman in music history.
Mariah har vocal nodules though, so that makes her vocals unpredictable. On her best day she is the greatest ever, on her worst she is still better than most singers nowadays.
@@Chrissiah Firstly, you can´t compare a female singer to a masculine singer. If you´re talking about the best female singer ever, that´s also debatable. There are Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Karen Carpenter and many more. It´s hard to tell if Mariah is better just because of her "high notes" that she sometimes makes during her songs.
Love to hear old live performances of Elvis. He was so versatile and changed up the arrangement of songs often! I also am a huge fan of JD Sumner and the Stamps quartet that sung behind Elvis for a lot of years. J D was the voice you heard with his signature slide down at the end of the song! My voice teacher has said on multiple occasions that my voice is most like J D’s as far as other bass singers she has heard! Great reaction! Low bass Kenneth
I love your exuberance. Your ability to detect subtleties in the vocal and instrumental accompaniment is fascinating. On another "note" I respect your reluctance to post the video from 1977. It would be saddening to see him in poor condition. I like to savor the memories of when he was at his best.
The best version of can't help falling in love is the 68 come back special for me..⚡️🤙
At the end, that was bass singer J.D.Sumner doing the vocal dive. They called that a ‘56 ending.
Ahhh 1972 On Tour. Love 1969-1972 Vegas and On Tour era. Yes release the 1977. Physically he wasn't good but vocally he was still incredible. From 1969 in Vegas on he started doing it up tempo so he could end the show on it. He was and incredible producer. He told the backing vocals, band and orchestra exactly what he wanted and got it
Elvis didn't do Las Vegas in 1968. He opened there in July the next year.
@timcarr6401 correct. Typo. He started at the Hilton 1969. I wore out so many TTWII vhs tapes and the 1969 boxset pre jumpsuits is epic. I love Runaway and Sweet Caroline
@@mattybondElvis was the man in black in the summer of 1969. It was very different than in his later years.
❤❤❤❤
He is the Best Rock singer of the all times
The king
What a voice, what backup vocals and instrumentals. He can be imitated, but not duplcated. Not now, not ever. 🔥
O nice song wow love it love u
Nina, one of my most favourite songs sung by Elvis is ‘Don’t’. I truly love this song, which was written expressly for him, & was his 11th Number One in 1958. I am a brand new subscriber to your channel & I would love to hear you do an In Depth Analysis of “Don’t”. I have been an Elvis fan since I was a young teenager. I was born in 1952 so was just a young child for all those early Elvis songs, but by the mid-1960s I had discovered Elvis Presley, & that was a Great discovery. I live in New Zealand, & was born here, so no Elvis concerts for us, very sadly. I’m 72 now, & Elvis is still the greatest singer ever, in my opinion. I so envy all those who got to see him perform live, but I love watching his concerts on video. I don’t think you should post your analysis of the 1977 performance. We all know that Elvis was a very sick man at that time, & this turned out to be his final concert, as he passed just a few weeks later, but he gave all that he had to his performance, as he always did, & his fans will always love him for that. Thankyou for the respect you are giving to a wonderful, great man.
Hearing Elvis, Ronnie, Jeff, Glenn and so on. Fuck all...these are some of the greatest artists on the planet.!!! I love you Nina, But you know also that these are super pros. That " mysterious" backup vocal... Well it's J.D Sumner..you knew that. You are a pro.. it's your job to know.
👑✌️
I hadn't heard that version. It seemed incredibly short. I listened to Aloha From Hawaii (1974) (which was a big deal on TV) a million times which is an incredible performance. I even heard the show "live" (there was a tape delay of a few hours, but "live" as was possible). i believe that version was longer. (It's been a while since I last heard it).
Not being pedantic but it was in January 1973 fyi :)
@@Brass-and-Bullets Yep. Faulty memory... it happens at my age..
When Elvis thought it was time to wrap up a concert he would give a little nod to the musicians and this song would be next..also it was his tribute to the fans.
Nina look for the Elvis live version of No More that was done post Aloha from Hawaii Special. You will appreciate his vocals so much more as there is no audience .
I love your style.
Thank you!
The song became a love letter to the fans and he closed every show with it normally. You could share the 1977 performance, people can understand he is not well but still doing the grind of touring giving it what he had. Great performance here, nice reaction. TCB⚡️
Thank you - really appreciate your feedback!
Amazing thanks for posting Nina.
I can't watch a lot of his 1977 concert footage especially the final concert footage of Unchained Melody. It breaks my heart to see him so ill and just 6 weeks before he passed.
I totally understand 🙏🏻
It’s one of my favorite songs. 😢
@@ninaschofield
I hate all of the thoughtless comments made whenever the 1977 concert footage is aired. 💔
I would really Love it if you did Elvis's Official Music Video (Audio Only) it's a masterpiece and rarely reacted to:

Please release the 1977 reaction. Yes, Elvis wasn't well and had problems that have been commented on many times, but it's still Elvis and no matter what shape he was in the true fans love him. He was 7 weeks away from his death and yet sang his heart out for his fans. Even though it can be painful and emotional to watch we honour him by doing so
Hi Nina, it is great seeing and hearing your reaction to "Can't Help Falling In Love", elvis had used this song to finish the majority of his live concerts, elvis had sung in various styles within this song and many other versions of it, a great reaction, i am looking forward to your next "Elvis" reaction in the near future, keep up the good work, as you are doing a fantastic job.
My Nina, you must review "Unchained Melody" from 1977!!! Love, T
@Nina- This is my fav version of Can't help falling in love and I wouldnt want to see Elvis perform this one in 1977.
❤looking great nina❤................be water my friend
Thanks so much, you too!
My fave 70’s version of this would be the one from his Aloha from Hawaii rehearsal version, January 1973, that wink and smile tops it off, for me 😉
Hey Nina, i am 80 but was at the concert both in 72 and 73 at Hampton Rds, Va. He was so wonderful and gracious to his fans. I was only 3 rows back and usually when he sang "Love Me Tender" he kissed the girls at the edge of the stage. I wanted to go up so bad, but I was with my husband. Darn. but he kissed a lot of girls. see his "Love Me Tender" kissing video, from Vegas in 1970. that was wild. But you know there isn't an entertainer in the world who loved his fans more. He bought them cars, houses, jewelry. He was a generous and kind Humanitarian. See "Elvis Presley King of Kindness', He gave away almost as much as he made. He had been so poor as a child and he never forgot it. Thanks, Great reaction as always. Be Blessed
Please react to Elvis concerts in 1977. I love his performance in 1977, his voice was so incredible. Elvis is beautiful in any era. The king Forever 👑❤
Please more Elvis my favourite Elvis reactions !
You should add your name, vocal coach. Saw Elvis 5 times in person. Great cover.
The profundity bass is JD Sumner
This one is from the 1972 movie/"documentary" titled "Elvis on Tour".
Thanks for posting your thoughts on this live performance. I like how you interpret every instrument (including voices) through the keyboard. There are many excellent examples of Elvis performing; often overlooked are studio recordings. If you publish your reaction of a 1977 Elvis performance, just ensure the context of this time in his life is clear as he was not at his best. An Elvis fan knows this and still appreciates such material but others may be more dismissive.
If this is your favorite song from him, you really should react to the version from the 68 comeback. It is studio good.
Nina you love this song. Deep voices. Unique timbres. I recommend a "cover" that will get you by suprise... 2023 you discovered the amazing Angelina.
Time to meet the other gemstone of our times:
Diana Ankudinova - Can't help falling in love.
She uploaded her performance to her official channel.
As someone who followed your journey here on YT and Diana (20 now 18 8n that song) i assure you there is a reason even seasoned vocal coaches were suprised by the "Queen of Goosebumps".
Please giva Diana a chance, and experience her unearthly performance.
Yeah I’d say release the reaction to his last performance. I understand that it might be a little awkward, however it is such an iconic performance that has been seen by millions I can’t imagine that your reaction to it would have any negative/disrespectful outcome to it whatsoever. Just my opinion tbf
Thanks - really appreciate your feedback on that, I hope the video will be taken respectfully 🙏🏻
Nina i enjoyed and loved your reaction please more elvis. The lady you can hear is a backing singer called kathy westmoreland and often introduced in concerts by elvis as the little girl wth the beautiful high voice and nicknamed Minnie mouse by him. Kathy sang soprano with him from 1970 until 1977.
Trust me that girl is still not the same to this day.
For someone who loved Elvis and witnessed his decline in health over the years I don't need to see it again. I watch that 1977 video when it aired. It was hard enough to watch then. It was crushing and sad and prefer to remember him as the "KING".
You should post your reaction.. The man was human. He was tired. He was ill. It doesnt diminish his greatness, or the fact that he still gave everything he could for the audience that came to see him perform.
Rest assured that Elvis, even as ill as he was, could outperform many artists today.
Would love for you to do a vocalist analysis reaction of him doing "Hurt" live in 1977.
More than happy to!
I really enjoy your reactions on Elvis always sharp and to the point. Why not release 77 edition we got nothing to hide it is what it is. Maybe Way down is the next one you do?
The 1977 version was awesome so release it yes
JD Sumner dive bombed that last note as he often did.
That was probably JD Sumner his deep bass singer you heard near the end of the song.
Great reaction Nina, please react to Hurt 1977
Thanks so much!
When it comes to video/audio I prefer the official Aloha version..But nothing can top the beauty of the Blue Hawaii movie version , the original studio recording is a pure classic. And don't forget the 68 comeback version...so beautiful, and a bit slower.
♥️my Elvis particularly hos later ballads, If I CAn Dream, My Way, The Wonder of You, Memories,.. I like better rhan the early tunes. Thank u foe these & keep talking about Elvis music.
Personally if u had rhe same songvto critique feom 2 different eras, I wdnt want to see the '77 bc I dont rhink he wd be as proud of it nor want us to see it.
In the 70’s Elvis closed out his concerts with this song
Great old Elvis song. Since you just listened to the King how about some more music from the Queen, Lara Fabian. May I suggest Love By Grace live at the Canadian Juno Music awards.
YOU should do a song WITH ELVIS!!! Like Lisa Marie did a song w him as an adult. With tech now, YOU CAN DO ir!!!
Thanks. There are fine performances from the 1977 TV special; "Cant' Help Falling Love" is not one of them. A reaction is probably best left unpublished.
Nina, I'll join the crowd - this is my favorite Elvis song, as well. Although, I must say, I much prefer the original Hit Song version. Whenever it came on at a dance, I couldn't resist singing along to my partner. Thankfully, our two voices together allowed me to get away with it . . . . . 🙄
Thanks for doing Elvis.
Have you done the Angelina Jordan version of Can't Help Falling In Love With You? He is a big influence of Angwlina❤❤❤❤❤
You must react to "spiritbox - rules of nine - Courtney LaPlante one take live performance"
You're going to freak out
"Nina, pretty ballerina ..."
Elvis himself felt comfortable airing those 1977 performances so I don't see why we shouldn't.
He was a grown man, and while unhealthy and often using drugs, he was still able to make his own decisions.
Elvis Died Before this Concert was Aired in the fall of 1977. So No, he didn't give his approval. These thoughtless comments are exactly why his fans don't like this preformance aired.
can u also react to some live performances from this year's sanremo pls (they might be put down soon)
I dont think this is from -77. He is way to slim for that. Thank you for the analys.❤
1977, please ,please don't. One needs a lot of context of his entire career to be able to watch that performance. For decades this performance was one of the key reasons for the mockery and cruel jokes about him. Only recently there have been efforts to hightlight his artistry to people like us who were not even born when he died. It is not about the looks, but physical and mental health seen in that performance. There are several superior versions.
- - - - There's a much better version from 10 years earlier. Check out the original from 1961 on the Elvis 30 #1 Hits CD. Light years better.
Are you going to teach Elvis to sing?
😂😅😅😂
The Aloha from Hawaii Concert far superior to this performance.
1968 comeback special is the better version
Do you release videis of Freddy Mercury looking like death warmed over due to AIDS?Do you release videos if Michael Jackson after 109 surgeries that destroyed his face? Elvis was bloated only in his last few months due to illness. All around him said he was still handsome. He was did not look like dearh like Freddy and Michael. Also consider that 99 percent of singers are as handsome as Elvis on his worst day.Shiuld you not show those singers because they are not good looking?
You talk way to much
Wow you really butchered this video.
