I'm retired now, but was a new OEM dealer for 48 years. Frankly, the brand doesn't matter (as long it is a name brand). The service of the dealership, is much more important than the actual brand you buy. As long as there is good parts availability, good knowledgeable service people, and reasonable pricing actual brand (Deere, Cat, ASV, Case, Kubota, etc...) doesn't matter. Getting uptime service after hours/weekends is everything.
Thanks Davon for your opinion and experience with brush cutters and mulchers, very educational information my friend! I’m ready to see your next project brother, I really enjoy seeing you operating the Concella TMC Mulcher! Kirk from Louisiana sending prayers and positive vibes to you and your family Davon! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😘
Davin, great and informative video, I can see the advantages for having both, since both have their limitations, and different jobs call for different applications as well..
I guess theres a place for booth out there but in my personal use i really love my brush cutter . and have many hours on it. Less break downs , replacement parts cost less , 3 blades verses alot of mulching teeth. Let alone the cost difference in the 2 compaired to each other. very good video Davin.
Same here! FB Marketplace is a great source for quality machines and cheaper than anything you find on Craig's List.......... I drool in the Marketplace daily!
I'm in south Texas. Just got into this work. This helped me alot. I got a john deere rs72 rotary cutter with carbide under teeth. Still learning what to charge cleints. What do you suggest
What’s the best skid steer brush hog? I can get most capacity most bulletproof. Best quality. , I have 86 acres of woods. The trees I want to take out range from 1 inch to 8 inches
Good video, I have some experience and I would go with a mulcher before a brush cutter just about anytime. Where I live carbide teeth are a must, blades would be destroyed on the uneven ground and rocks especially with someone that doesn't have experience running one of these machines. My mulching head is a Cat/FAE and I have had to replace a bearing twice, do you know if there is a suggested life for replacing bearings? The Cat mechanics I work with locally can't find a spec on how frequently they suggest replacing bearings.
Look for UA-cam reviews! I would rather pay $4,000 instead of $40,000..... Just go easy and use caution and you should be fine. BTW, you can buy mini backhoes or cranes for $4,000 today with great results. Just judge your job size and ask if it would be practical. DO NOT think you can buy cheap and make money on if for big jobs or a business. SMALL personal jobs, Chinese would be fine, but, look for you tube reviews before purchase.................. YOU get what you pay for............ IMPORTANT to check hydraulic flow rates required from the tool against the machine it get's hooked up to.
I'm surprised they dont have a brace with wheels, like they do with a rake, or skid on front of brush cutters so they dont dig into uneven ground a lot.
I am starting a business in the Caribbean to clean up debris after hurricane and tropical storms. I want to also collect natural debris and turn it into mulch for sale.
Thanks for watching! You can get 200 hours out of a set depending on what you are doing, the first set on the TMC had close to 150 and I put them through hell.
It is getting difficult to tell the Chinese difference anymore besides price! Can that Brush Cutter drop an average 12" tree?? EACH of those two tools have their own place and cannot be compared!
You need a solid disc brush cutter for that. They are 20k+. Eaton or Parker motors are my preference. Note: These things are very dangerous. Must have poly front door on machine. There is a huge learning curve with these.
Devon, I honestly don’t know diddly about these machines. As a layman and longtime watcher of your channel (and Upstate Brushworks), I’m quite frankly amazed at how quickly these machines bog down. Hence, the constant backing up and going over material 2, 3, sometimes 4 times. Everything seems underpowered to me. How much wear and tear on the machine is created by being so underpowered? And how much time and fuel is wasted by going back and forth, back and forth? In a way, the machines seem almost like big boy toys. They get the job done - but with very poor efficiency. Anyway, that’s my $.02. I enjoy your videos. Keep plugging.
Now you need to do an idiot test. See just how far you can launch different materials and what all it will do when it hits different things. Like ballistic testing, but with cutter heads.

Davin, great and informative video, I can see the advantages for having both, since both have their limitations, and different jobs call for different applications as well..

Love your vids but not into the ins and outs of machines but appreciate others are. 👏☺️🏴
Thank you so much . Really interesting. Ill never have one but found it a brilliant insight.
This is a very valuable video, congratulations 😀
Regarding surf boarding, I liked the Loftness Timber Ax since it turns upwards and almost self feeds. Sucks that design never took off
Super informative. Just bought some land and looking to purchase a skid steer and one of these attachments. Thumbs up plus new subscriber thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

Typically for high flow mulchers you should want a variable motor. When dealing with standard flow you get fixed motors typically.
Great video thanks Davin
Thanks. Devin. For. Shareing. Your. Knloge. & work. With. Us. Stay. Safe. God. Bless. You. Aboundly. ❤
Well explained gives someone that maybe want to get into brush cutters and munchers. As well the machine purchase thanks for sharing 👍👋🇨🇦
Glad it was helpful!

That was very interesting.
I'm curious why don't you have a flail mower?
Great info thanks you doing great
Great informative video. Thanks for sharing. Have you ever used a mulcher to prep for a home site?
Yes I have, particularly for mobile homes.
500 more to get to 100000. Won't be long now.
What’s the best skid steer brush hog? I can get most capacity most bulletproof. Best quality. , I have 86 acres of woods. The trees I want to take out range from 1 inch to 8 inches
Mega Mower X by Quick Attach.
Good video Brother, very informative
Glad it was helpful!
The mega mower is such a monster

Did you remove the 3 cross bars that would normally be on the forward facing door? If so how do you close the door once in the seat?
Any comments on drum mulcher vs disc mulcher
what do you thing about the China mulcher high flow 72inch $8000 thanks Petr
Junk! Do not buy cheap Chinese mulchers. You will get yourself hurt or hurt someone else. Those things are dangerous.

Operators make a huge difference
You sound great in 2x speed lol. Still loving your content dude!
Good to know LOL!

Good info 👍
Awesome 😎 😊😊😊😊😊
Davin did you buy the mega mower
hello Devon it's is Randy and i like your video is cool Thanks Devon Friends Randy
Drum mulcher - when to use bite-limiter, when to use carbide vs blades
also -- super nice to have a "reverse" flow on a mulcher to help unjam it. Most of the European built ones are single-direction flow, no reverse.
❤️🙏 Great information 🙏❤️
🏴 Love Scotland 🏴
Come on folks hit the subscribe button get this guy to 100k tonight
