Jessica's reaction to the car stopping to allow pedestrians to pass...i wish the whole philippines followed road rules.

It's interesting to see why Good Taste is chosen by some locals (they are mostly young students who want big servings at good student prices) and then there is something like Farmer's Daughter (which was chosen by a foodie). So when Jessica asked about their paborito, students will always pick "sulit" food over quality, while foodies will always choose the best.

I'd like to eat there in FD last July 2023 but was worried the kids palate are not ready. GT because of the line and limited parking can be hard for those with cars.

Welcome to my humble city, Jessica. Upon seeing the video title I was like “I hope they went to Farmers Daughter and Volante. There are still tons of Baguio OG restaurants that you must visit. I hope you can do a part 2 or sven 3 and 4 of Baguio Paborito episodes. How I wish Kyrke recommended the Pesto in Volante becaause that’s one fo their best sellers. In just so glad that you went here and I hope you had and your time had an amazing time. Xx

Jessica, I absolutely love how much passion you have for Baguio! You really captured the beauty of the place, not just the food, but the whole experience. It’s so clear that you enjoyed your time there, and I can totally feel your excitement about bringing your family next time. The mix of nature and the cool weather is really something special, and you made it sound even more inviting. Thanks for sharing your journey!

What I love about you Jessica is that you give honest reviews. You don't choose based on the hype or to please anyone who recommended. People may not agree with your choices sometimes, but of course, taste in food is always subjective. But still, you always do an awesome job in delivering the objective of your contents. Kudos to the whole team!

Hi Jessica! Just to technically differentiate, Kinilaw refers specifically to dishes made with raw seafood (e.g., fish, shrimp, or squid) that are marinated in vinegar or citrus juice. Kilawin, on the other hand, refers to dishes that involve lightly cooked or blanched meats (e.g., goat, beef, or pork) mixed with vinegar, calamansi, and spices. Typically in places where fresh seafood is not available.

Probably my favorite Paborito episode. And one of the most revealing --- Baguio bulalo daw is better than Tagaytay bulalo. Baguio could be the most idyllic place, if they make it almost carless and people just bike around with bike elevators for steep hills like in Norway. That'd make it truly a place to be, without car air pollution. It can be done; it just need a paradigm shift in thinking -- meaning, it needs a champion who will do everything for the city. It's a matter of will!

*Oh My Gulay* is not a favorite of many. But the vibe of the resto is quite unique. You can't find anything quite like it in Metro Manila or Metro Cebu.
They served mostly vegetable dishes. For meat lovers, *Oh My Gulay* is not for you. 😁

Fun fact:most used used language in baguio is ilocano but that doesn't mean the locals are ilocano.many people say baguio is ilocano but it isn't,thats because people in cordillera(igorots)have different language so in order to understand each other they use ilocano.

For a local restaurant I can recommend 'Jacks Restaurant' & Luisa's Cafe 👍both along Session road but actually there are many around town & those nice, macho/good looking jeepneys are usually Igorot owned, they just have a different taste of stuff unlike lowlanders, even personality is quite different Igorots are a bit reserved/shy type, respectful & more disciplined folks. foreigners/tourists even local celebrities can basically walk around the city like a normal person w/out being bothered by anyone only those who are visitors as well & those who are not really from the Cordilleras but especially when you go further in the highland towns like Sagada, locals won't mind bothering you doing your thing not like in other regions around the country w/ overly friendly locals which honestly is a bit annoying sometimes, "Hi", 'hello', 'shout out'😅😁🥴🥱

How to identify a baguio local vs a tourist: locals don't care about celebs lol.

  • @deeventura1151
    @deeventura1151 4 години тому +1

Also, another way to identify if someone is a tourist or a local driving around the city is that locals dont honk their hotns unlike mga “taga baba”, that’s how we call people from lowlands. Baguio drivers are just so chill and they rarely honk their horns.

Always a treat to go to Baguio, especially if you can go on the weekdays when there are less people. XD
I hope you and the team did some veggies shopping before going back down to Manila!
I've eaten in most of the featured restos here, except for Farmer's Daughter and that cafeteria one. Too bad you missed out on Grumpy Joe, the food there is also good, and a nice change of pace from the rest of the restos you had on the video.
I'm surprised no one recommended Hill Station. Though I guess Baguio people won't recommend that because it's too pricey.
Paborito is definitely Balajadia, but I will have to give Farmer's Daughter a try when I go back.

Some of the restaurants in Porta Vaga have their own individual restaurant in Military cutoff and also near the Marios is one of Baguio's famous bakery Victoria's bakeshop. And the road going near the bakeshop is going to John Hay. Hope you could try them all.

    - Poblacion/Roxas Ave
    -Torres/Doña Vicenta Village
    -Obrero/Buhangin
    -Lanang/Damosa
    -Juna Subdivision/MTS
    -Tulip Drive/Coastal Road Area
