Hey guys! I’m back with another travel vlog!
It’s a pretty rare one this time, because it’s neither in Korea or the Philippines; it’s the US! 🇺🇸
It was my first time in LA and I have to say the food & people made it so great! I somewhat felt like I was just home. 🇵🇭🇰🇷🤣
Huge shoutout to Mai & Bani of @thefilipinostorystudio for showing top-tier Filipino hospitality of taking care of me! ❤️ Make sure to check out their channel!

Have you been to ahgassi gopchang???
i really liked this alot! its so cool to see the behind the scenes of your work! always is calming to hear about your adventures everyday
I Love how Jessica enthusiastically answer that she is filipino hahaha. That's why I love watching your videos. Thanks for being so proud of being filipino.
Because we all know that by heart she is also filo❤️
@@Seyuh_she really is fili tho
She's like Sandara, Philippines has adopted her.
We, the Filipinos, claim Jessica Lee as one of our own
Ulol proud to be n naman kayo.
When he asked if they are filipino and jessica proudly said "YES!" Is actually a very touching moment. Enthusiasm at its peak. And its a surprise vlog wow! I hope you will have a christmas vlog
✨️🇵🇭✨️
that made me so happy when the chef asked him "are you filipino?" and jessica said yes! love it
Jessica is more filipino than the 2 filos that she’s with. I am amazed how she explain things to them.
It is the same though..
I love how even Pinoy from the US recognizes Jessica. You've come a long way, Jess! You're so famous na
When Jessica is more Filipino than Filipinos themselves 😅 Love you Jessica 🤍
Shes more filipino then those two she was with hahaha . They didnt even know what tutong was. Bwahahaha they dont eat rice? Lmao
@@kristellebatchelor7888 I think it was Jessica's pronunciation that threw off Mai. It happens sometimes when you put em-FASS-sis (emphasis) on the wrong SIL-LAA-LU BUL (syllable). lol
@@Shareboo she even explained what it was lmao . They still didnt know lol
@@vipstylerida She explained it bc Bani said he didn't know. Mai knew but didn't understand Jessica's pronunciation at first. Jessica even added a dash line in her captions to distinguish when emphasis was being put on the word and no dash when it wasn't.
Jessica is more Filipino at heart and for most Filipino, Rice is life. Those two don't eat rice? Dang..
I'm so happy that Jessica is being recognized by Filipinos all around the world. As a Filipino, I’m truly grateful for her content, especially because it highlights our food and culture. Maraming salamat, Jessica! I hope to meet you someday and thank you in person
Mas proud ako kay Jessica dahil proud siyang sabihin na Filipino siya, di tulad ng iba na ikinakahiya ang pagiging Filipino at pagiging Asyano.
True kesyo half2× daw sila. 😅😂
@@vismineseginagamit lng nya ang pagiging Filipino kuno nya dahil sa mga content nya dito sa YT. Try to remove the Filipino context and see if anyone will patronize her. Until now di pa makapasa sa mga universities na Inapplyan!
@@endeepi0075eh sa gusto nga niya ang ginagawa niya. Mas susuportahan ko pa siya. Kahit di pa pang Filipino content niya as long as Asian siya.
Jessica, you barely scratched the surface of K-Town and Filipino food in LA you definitely have to come back!! Some places are specialized in a specific dish so you gotta try ALLL of it!
Gotta go back for the food 😍
Watching this reminded me a bit of Anthony Bourdain’s show. I particularly enjoyed your references to the original provincial/regional version and how the current version/interpretation differ. This is the first time I’ve seen that in food vlogs. I hope you continue to do so. I also like the perspective presented here- how Filipino or Korean dishes/flavors are interpreted by restaurants outside the original countries’ /regional versions. I think if you continue to develop these angles, your food vlog content will be niche and definitely be among the most sophisticated.
I love how Jessica has the in depth knowledge of PH foods.
Sunod sunod pag upload. Kakatapos ko lang mag work pag open ko ng youtube eto agad bumungad sakin! Thank you Jessica ingat palagi!!
ricardosramos
jessica has eaten so much filipino food. seems like shes actually the one touring her filipino friends palate .
3:14 I remember them way back Banzi is a good director and he even had lot of short films about our heroes during the Japanese occupation. I first saw him in UA-cam at Wil Dasovich vlogs in Janina Vela’s meet and greet 9 years ago and they are friends of Baninay Bautista and other OG Philippine UA-camrs.
I love how she is excited and enthusiastic on everything filipino and korean.
It’s funny cause Jessica refers to regular Americans as foreigners, when in fact she is the foreigner and they are locals. 😅
Jessica is more Filipino than two of them. 😂
IKR. Kakahiya. Cant exlplain tutong and talinhaga.
Correct, because Jessica grow up in the Province where the cradle of Filipino culture started. She is very educated and knowledgeable of the Filipino race, culture and dialects, you know what I mean the Language.
Peace & Love..😅💖
oh, but let's not be too dismissive of them. they're certainly doing their part in sharing "the filipino story" to the world ☺️
@@coco9818 pero ang hirap you teach filipino culture pero ikw mismo clueless sa mga tinuturo mo wla ka alm mismo sa mga bagay bagay na talagang totoong filipino
@@rgnald in the first place, what makes a filipino a "true" filipino? is it being fluent in filipino? is it being born in the philippines? well, in that case, does that mean someone who was born abroad but deeply understands and practices filipino values is any less filipino than someone born here but disconnected from their heritage? is it about speaking the language perfectly, or is it about embodying the spirit of bayanihan, showing resilience, and embracing the diversity that makes up our culture?
kaya nga we love jessica, dara, and ryan eh. they're koreans but they've shown such deep respect and admiration for filipino culture that we can't help but embrace them as one of our own. they embody the filipino spirit in their actions-jessica and dara proudly singing opm songs and representing filipino culture on the global stage, and ryan showing genuine love for our traditions and people.
someone who practices these values, no matter where they were born or raised, is as much a part of the filipino identity as someone who grew up in the philippines. in fact, those who actively choose to learn, preserve, and celebrate our heritage-despite being removed from it geographically or culturally-show an extraordinary level of connection and love for being filipino (just like the minds behind the filipino story; highly recommend you check out their work!).
so, let’s widen our perspective. being filipino is not limited by borders or passports; it’s about a connection - to the people, to the land, and to the shared stories that bind us as a nation. and as we see others embrace our culture with genuine affection, let’s remember that identity, like culture, is fluid and inclusive. ❤💙
It's my queen!!! New vlog again!! YAY!! HAPPY DAY!
Astig talaga si Ate, wow!
Ishare ko ito sa mga friends ko, especially to my Koreans friends. 😍👍🇺🇸❤️🇰🇷❤️🇵🇭
Hi Jessica. I live in LA and from the video, I wish you got the full LA experience. Did u go hiking at Runyon or Griffith Park? Shopping in Beverly Hills, the Grove, Silver Lake? Did you go to Erewhon? How about Disneyland or Universal? For this to possibly be a last LA visit would be sad.
There’s more to LA than just Korean or Filipino food. We have IN&OUt. One must not forget to have Tacos, tacos, tacos!! Mexican food is a must here!! Then later on be healthy and have vegan food, acai bowls, smoothies, salads, etc.
You have to come back for more! We want to see more of it too!!
I had my in&out, Chick-fil-A, Dave’s, etc. and all the good Mexican food in SD. Was just not part of this vlog, they were BOMB 😍
@@jessicaleeseul Look forward to seeing some good Filipino food recs in SD. I'm assuming you went to Convoy & Mira Mesa?
Jessica is actually more Filipino than me now.😅
Jessica I love the way you enthusiastically answer YES.. Great to see you being proud to be a Filipino!!
Thanks for sharing and blessings to you❤❤❤❤❤
Welcome to LA Jessica & k-town! We used to live in k-town & still my favorite. Being in LA is like not being far from Manila you'll meet a lot of Pinoys & Koreans have fun Jessica!
It's great to see Ate Mai and direct Bani in your vlog
They’re amazing ❤
Great video Jessica! Hope we can also see the BTS of the video. And you're showing PusongPinoy even in LA!!!!
Also, I totally agree Jessica, museum tour isn't boring. It's always on my itinerary list whenever I visit a new place. Especially if you're interested in knowing the history, life and culture of the city/region you're visiting.
This vlog was sooo good.
In Cali, there is a new law where they will not give you utensils unless you ask for it on take out orders. It is meant to decrease plastic waste.
Looks like you had a great first trip to LA! There really is so much to do (and eat) here that even as a native I discover new restaurants every week. I would highly recommend food hopping because LA food scene is very diverse.
Wow you've come a long way Jessica. So proud of you and how your channel grow and you as a person as well. 🫡
Aw Jessica!! Fantastic vlog and SO great to have you come visit San Diego, come back any time!! Would LOVE to see you again! ❤
I love how Jessica is more filipino then the other 2 she was with. I totally understand though since I haven't visited the PI in over 15 years and a lot has changed na.
They are wannabees lolz
I'm using Grammarly too for a year already. Your LA vlog bring lots of memories to me. Missing my late sister who was with me touring California, Nevada, & Arizona. Thanks for sharing your LA vlog.
I enjoy watching you Jessica. Wala kang kaarte arte. So kind and gracious to your subscribers. Keep vlogging 😊
One of the things I love about Jessica is how her content is well-researched ❤, especially when it features the diversity of cultures.
Hello Jessica. Great to see you. Welcome to the U.S.A. You are my fave... I watch many of your vids in the Phil....I love the fact that you learned to speak Tagalog....have fun.
Hopefully not last time in LA! So much more to explore! Hope you come back soon and are able to do a fan meet and greet!
Just love Jessica..she has such good vibes... so charming and friendly ❤
Ohmy I love this wholesome episode! Love it! Love it! Love it!!!
She's a Pinay talaga, nag Craving agad sa Filipino food 😂, I love it when she says she's a Filipino.❤
Tutong is scorched rice in english. they actually sell scorched rice in supermarkets in the US.
Maraming salamat Jessica gusto gusto ko ang mga vlog mo! I’m gonna go to those places next time I visit LA lalo na the calamansi pie 🤤
it's kinda funny how the korean girl is introducing Filipino food to the filipino couple. Jessica I think you're becoming more and more filipino. I guess since you're more into food culture and tourism you should know this anyway but that's stilk amazing. I checked the Filipino channel and there was no food history on the recent videos so I guess the couple don't do much filipino food.
Loved the vlog. Strangely enough, my favorite part were the honest quick reviews on the korean food XD
Glad you enjoyed LA!!! A lot of my family have moved to different states or stayed in the Philippines. I just can't enjoy any other state IMO. I love that LA has literally ANY food I am craving for or want to try. I visit my family in the Midwest/South and I literally cannot imagine living there. Even my mom and sister want to come back and visit because they miss LA. 😂
5:35 Talinghaga is a word you'll usually only hear in school. it probably means Metaphor or maybe idiom.
Matalinghagang salita.
I used to live very, very close to Koreatown by Melrose and Western. Way back in the 90's. I had a few korean friends and that's when I got introduced to Kimchi, Korean Bbq and other delicious korean foods
I love travel vlogs, baby! plus you deserve to travel the world, Jessica. love adventures and learnings
Its great that you had a fun time in Cali. Your outfit you had on day 1 with the hat made you have different look but looks good on you. Sampa restaurant is expensive but seems it was worth it
Thanks for another video, Jessica, Merry Christmas 🎄 😊
By the way , I think “Talinghaga” means metaphor in Filipino
11:44 if anyone's wondering, it's canon. ❤👍
“Socarrat” is tutong in English which is similar to what’s formed in the bottom of the pan when you cook paella.
I love this vlog🥹 i kinda like longer vlogs like this too!
I really like your vlogs. It has that relaxing vibe and at the same time informative💖
Well yes Jessica, the cost of coffee here in CA like in the city of LA and SF is too dear. And "atbp" is same as etc...etc.... etc. World is really small seeing Dooby there and glad I see her again.
Salamat muli Jessica for sharing your savory trip in LA with your friends.
I love it when Jessica was asked if she was Filipino and proudly said YES with pride. I hope you come visit here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Enjoy your stay here in the US and always stay safe!🌹🥀
Thanks for sharing, live this vlog. New spots to try in LA!
I love your enthusiasm and excitement everywhere you go! I just wish others could match that energy while they’re with you. 😁✌🏻

You should definitely come back to LA and have a meet up! 😃
Hands down for Jessica! She is perfect Phil-Korea Gastronomy ambassadress.
She's woman counterpart of Erwan🎉🎉
I think Chami is famous in Lucena, thats why the owner of Kuya Lord is "Lucenahin" or from Quezon Province
I like how you mentioned “Foreigners”,while in Kuya Lord, Like you are literally the foreigner to them but as a Filipino hahahahahaha we got you 🥰❤😂
That BCD tofu house used to be where Max Fried Chicken is located, years ago.
Jessica’s friends (the couple Mai and Direk Bani) is also the friend of Baninay and their squad post PBB Lucky 7. I used to see them with them. Also they were vlogging in PH before doing some great content. Nice to see them again. Also, Lomi is to Batangas, Chami is to Quezon. Wow Lucena represents😅
Loved this video and would try those restaurants in Koreatown and Kuya Lords! My Daughter lives in Glendale so it is close to Downtown LA.
NO WAY! Jessica Lee in my city???
Wow, WELCOME! 😎🤙
damn you were right at the heart of K-Town a stones throw from a lot of great cafe's and restaurants. Egg Tuck right across the street, Jjamppong zizon. just a block over is Sun Nong Dan, Cassells burger, Quarters, Escala, Jjukku Jjukku KBBQ gives you the same vibes of a korean bbq spot. small tables, loud, lots of drinking and conversations.
Hey Jess...you should go try visiting Canada...in the city of Toronto ...there is a huge Korean and Filipino community...good Asian restaurants too😊
I really admire you Jessica for your knowledge about filipino food. ❤❤❤
It's like watching a paborito series everytime ate jes is describing the taste of the foods hahah
I feel like Jessica is fun to be with during travels! Jessica can I tag along on next travel? Hahah
🤩✨✨Happy & Excited Jessica 🥰
I use grammarly too. It is really good to check for grammars.... :D
Jessica, please do a San Diego vlog when you come back to Cali. Visit National City and Miramesa to see how Pinoys made it their own little havens in Southern California. Those areas are the primary convergence spots for authentic Filipino cuisine. There’s also a thriving K-town in Convoy for you to explore.
Oh nice ! Im going to LA next week and I will visit this Filipino restaurant.
You should've gone to South Central. They have a lot of Korean-owned places there.
you should come back to LA, there are more food places to discover here.
idc what anyone says. i've always considered jessica, and many other koreans that grew up in the PH, as 1st gen korean-filos! mabuhay!
Wow! Welcome to So Cal! Enjoy your stay! I wish you had a meet and greet with fans in either LA or SD. I could have dragged my Korean friends to meet you. I keep talking to them about tou like you're my new bff! 😂 🤓 🙃
