Hey wow I love the quality of this video. Im coming from the M1 group, Ill be making videos too but in Spanish. wow this is amazing. Thank you for this video.
Thanks, lovely comment. It’s been a while since I made a video.
@@jamiedudding22 Got it, Im working on my videos too
love to see more videos
I’m currently moving home and settling into a new job! But once I’ve completely moved, I will get more videos done! Don’t forget to subscribe 😘
Loved this video, May you please do more of these in detail in illustrator, I couldnt keep up 😔😰
Hi Olga, thanks for the comment. I’ve been busy this past year with moving. I have not got a new studio set up yet. But I will be more active in the near future x
Great video thank you. I will be getting an xtool m 1 and just gathering information on making different things and this was very helpful. I have a question you might be able to answer or might have already. For a beginner once I have become more familiar with the included design software do you recommend upgrading to lightburn or adobe illustrator if you have a preference. Thanks again.
Hey there! I’ve not used lightburn properly! With the new updates on the M1 software I don’t think it matters! Adobe is obviously a more powerful piece of software, it just depends how comfortable you are with it. I actually never used it before buying the M1 😂 sorry for the late reply I’ve been away on holiday.
Good day have you cut acrylic with the m1
Hi I tried cutting acrylic but didn’t succeed! It can cut but only very specific types and very thin.
Hi, this is making me want to buy one even more. Quick question is this the 5w or 10w version?
Hi Mia… i would definitely go for the higher watt version. This is the 10W but there is now a 20w version on the xtool d1. There is also another kickstarter from the make mr carve , it will be able to cut clear acrylic which would be better than this.
Thank you great video. Can we use acrylic to cut? if so, whats the maximum thickness in mm?
Regards
Hi sorry for the late reply I’m busy moving home! Yes you can cut acrylic but only specific acrylics and with thickness it’s best to go onto their website they have a list of materials and material thicknesses that can be cut with specific settings!
Can the m1 engrave acrylic sheets?
Or could I use acrylic sheets to make the cake topper instead?
Yes it can. But only certain colours like black and red
Hey dude, interesting, I have been looking at getting a glow forge but they are very expensive, wonder if this would be a cheaper option
Hey Becky! Yeah this is much cheaper! I was also looking at glowforge before this. Glow forge is great until you have no Internet. This one is a hybrid laser engraver and cutter it has its own knife built in I ordered this last year when the Kickstarter started so I got it a lot cheaper but they do have a lot of offers on right now.
@@jamiedudding22 that’s cool, yeah just looked and it’s on pre order, very tempting. Just jumped back on the fx band wagon so if that goes well might have to treat myself haha
@@rebeccabrown9332 what fx bandwagon?? 😅
@@jamiedudding22 learning to trade forex haha I tried ages ago but didn’t get very far lol but learning loads now so wanna stick at it
How are you finding the M1 laser after 4 months?
Hi Bruce! I’ve barely used it. I done a loud of different things with it but at the moment it’s sat packed! I’ve been busy the past few months with moving/new job etc so my time has been occupied there! After November I will be back to lasering and making videos
What is the name of the lasermachine? And what rthe costs?
Im Late 😅😅 this was an xtool M1 sorry for the late reply I’ve been hibernating
Did u lay this flat on the bottom? I didn't see any prisms or honeycomb. I did see your risers
Hey, yeah the risers are in, I actually have a nice piece of created steel 1.5mm thick which I sit on top of the prisms.
I have the x1 mtool honeycombs in the bottom of mine, but I can't seem to get it to cut right. I don't see why u would need risers if u did a thin cake topper. Not a whole lot of videos since this machine is new
When I get back from holiday I will start to make some more in-depth videos. There’s a lot of people still having trouble. The more you use it the more you will see it’s limitations and drawbacks. When cutting any wood no matter if it is thin caketopper i would definitely have it raised to allow air flow. They can set alight quickly. So far the only way I can see this machine cutting cleaner would be if they create an air assist for m1
