Beautiful set of wrenches you've got there, I am going to get the full SAE and metric set of USA made proto ratcheting wrenches some day soon but that's best 2 grand for both. I love and am on a quest to acquire as much Armstrong as possible then I go for proto, wright and SK(pre 2022😢)
FIRST !!! ... And now to business ... I always get Pittsburgh tools from harbor freight m8. Good quality ,lifetime warranty ,and handmade in U.S.A by the man up the road !!!.
Those Proto's are still available new but you have to watch out because they also have a similar set that is made offshore. It's pretty easy to tell though just from the price difference.
I’ll tell you the best dinosaur of a company there is are wright tools out of Barberton Ohio everything is domestic and industrial grade however they don’t make ratcheting wrenches in the states their subsidiary company called cougar pro makes them in Taiwan but also I buy tools to be used as you mentioned. it’s wild to think that the cordless brushless 1/2” impact wrenches i.e dcf961 or Milwaukee 2967 etc are now more powerful than their air impact counterparts generally are capable of, just at a larger size lb for lb and assuming the psi is within standard range attainable by a standard shop compressor. The dcf961 is gonna break it free or Waller out your socket in a hurry
I don't lend tools, people definitely lack respect when it comes to others stuff. We have a saying "Didn't you know you were coming to work today?" I've only just discovered made in the USA gear on amazon. Since i don't work in automotive in Aus i never see tool trucks. Bought myself a set on Williams made in USA 1/2 impact sockets. Normally buy german tools ie socket sets, ratchets, screwdrivers
The set in the video is discontinued it they still have a USA made reversible ratcheting wrench I just picked some up, similar profile but the stamping is different. They are listed on protos site
Your friend's dad prob meant don't abuse his tools such as drop them on cement and just throw them in the toolbox. He doesn't know how you'll treat his tools. A lot of people just abuse stuff... especially teens.
