Im an auto tech and my favorite wrenches are my mac knuckle savers which judging from the form factor are essentially a chrome version of the proto wrenches( all my wrenches above 25mm are the proto wrenches ) the only difference i see is the open end is facing the opposite direction. Many years of service on them and they are very good quality
Very nice sets of wrenches, proto our some of my favorites, thanks for sharing with us tool nuts, I have vintage craftsman, sets, I put them on you Tube, take care
I own the Mac, Snap on and Wright Grip 2.0 combination wrenches and I have to say they are all awesome but I constantly reach for the Wrights 2.0’s all the time!
Use strips of rubber grip mat behind the small wrenches. You have to be careful still but it's more forgiving. Make a hanger with a hook, for the wrench tool roll when open
Proto is a top quality tool brand. they're just an industrial brand and cater to that market. They don't really go after the car mechanics like the tool trucks. All the industrial brands like Proto and Williams are tool truck quality tools at a lower price since the tool truck owner doesn't need to make his mark up for his franchise.
Do they REALLY need the markup? Other businesses, even small businesses, do just fine selling truck-quality tools without blasting the prices into outer space.
Facom sell 440XL they're identical to MAC precision torque, and they are quite cheaper. The only problem is that there are only 8 wrenches in set (with skips). And if you guys want MAC RBRT, you can find USAG 285X for a little less money. I bought 12 USAG 285X wrenches for 169 USD (with tax and shipping). Facom 440XL, Sidchrome 440 (pro?) are identical to MAC precision torque and they are all made in the same factory in Taiwan.
@user-rd4ie7dc6z check torque test channel last video about rbrt wrenches. Facom 440XL has the same anti slip cut like MAC precision torque. And USAG 285X is identical to MAC RBRT (I know because I have bought set myself). Short facom wrenches shown here are Facom 440 (non XL), and they don't have anti slip.
Your Proto wrenches look similar to my Proto Professional wrenches which I bought ca. 1980, but I don't see a "U.S.A." mark on yours. Where are they made?

The MAC ones are top of the line for stanely. The metal in the macs are better than the facoms and Australian brand. There are differences that your eyes dont really notice

Stanley Black and Decker also owns Craftsman.
Love the MAC Precision Torque Wrenches
Ive been using those satin finish Proto wrenches for around a decade and theyre fantastic. Theyre tough as all hell and worth every penny.

Proto is a great line.
I have the same wrench set up almost. I have my Wright, the Mac precision torque, and the Proto but the Proto are 6 point. I love all 3 sets.
The MAC precision Torque is the best set of Wrenches I've ever used and right now on the truck they're on sale for $199!

Those Proto wrenches looks nice. I think the satin finish gives a better grip when working in greasy conditions.
I'm between getting the Mac RBRT and the precision torque wrenches, haven't decided
USAG sells a longer set with antislip like the MAC...
I've got that Proto satin set at work...they're great wrenches
Craftsman V Series wrenches are the same as Facom and Mac
The Protos are by far the best. Available in 3 finishes
Proto is the real deal.
I want to order that exact set of protos..are they the same length as the mack?

@@AToolWithTools No they don't that's why we are here on the internet. So we can find top quality tools and not get raked over the coals by trucks.

The mac and facom are visually identical but there are big differences. The metal. The way the anti slip teeth are cut.

Stanley has had Mac up for sales for years with no takers.

Proto is top of the line for Stanley Black and Decker.
