I’ve heard of but never seen one of these movies. Surprised that I’m still watching after 15 mins. but Donald O’Connor is very entertaining. You notice he packs every second on screen with some physical action that expresses his character. Not a frame is wasted without advancing the development of his character reacting to his environment or situation. This maintains continuous interest as the story evolves.

Donald O'Connor a truly great actor and comedian who performed brilliantly and didn't take away from the mule's and Chill Wills performance. I had forgotten what a great character actor Chill Wills was! And Zasu Pitts one of the finest female comedians! Right up there with the best of them! Thoroughly enjoyed this movie on Veteran's Day! In 1975, I was part of an army expermental program to integrate the WA training to the US Amry Basic training. It was integrated male/female training. I met a young female from Texas, only got to tllk to a few times. The following year I met her again at advanced training. at basic, she was in my company, at advanced training she was in my squad. what she did in July was truly impressive. On a 5 mile forced march in July. at FT Riley Kansas, was truly remarkable. she completed the march carring the M60 machinegun, and was the only female in the company to complete the march.

This is the best Francis movie ever!. Franicis leading the cause for feminism. Francis talking smack to General Kay with his own voice. The dude who does the voice of Francis getting an actual role in the movie for once. The Lieutenant dressing up like a nurse. And General Kay wound up in a mental asylum. This movie has it all and very progressive for 1954.I wish they would still make movies like this.

This is got to be one of the funniest comedies that I’ve ever seen truly. I have laughed all the way through. I now know where the show Mister Ed came from and where lot of scenes from Gomer Pyle came from. Thanks for posting this movie. Enjoyed immensely .greetings from Southeast Alabama, the home of Fort Rucker, Alabama, the largest helicopter training center in the world☮️❤️

This was such a FUN watch. Thank you so much for posting this Francis goodie- Julie Adams and Mamie Van Doren were two of my '50's favorites! & Donald O'Connor always a joy to watch. Any "Ma and Pa Kettle" movies? They were so much fun too.

Boy they sure don't make them like this anymore. They are even wearing the correct uniforms. The unit patch is the west coast I wore that star when I went to Basic at Ft Ord. in 68'.
I think it shows the simi valley train station too. What is really impressive is how good the condition of this movie is. You seldom see them without spots and the contrast is perfect. Get your kids this is one you can watch together..
