This is by far the best Commander gameplay channel. So many channels try way to hard to be the command zone and have these side cuts telling us how they feel instead of just letting us watch their normal reaction. It's awful. Other channels everyone seems so fake and are trying so hard to make jokes and laugh at the top of their lungs the entire game. Other channels use Spell table which isn't horrible but it's a bit off-putting to not see the battlefield clearly. These games always feel like normal people playing commander and it's edited really nice and not over the top. I love every episode and I love Shea's Tshirts/sweaters even more.
You realize you just talked shit about Game Knights/Command Zone the most knowledgeable popular and correctly played mtg group around ...?... don't think you are aware of this
@@robbieadams-chew5440 No they didn't, they actively said that the channels they aren't fond of are trying too hard to emulate Game Knights. Not that they dislike Game Knights.
You guys have the best dynamic and funnest decks. Props to Brent, the editing always feels like you're sitting /with/ them, which feels so true to the commander format.
Great game as always! The black life totals are much clearer to read, and the top-down battlefield camera was nicely in focus. Thank you for making those adjustments, it makes it much easier to follow along the gameplay.
Welcome back! I felt so off not having an episode last week. Great game, shea pulling out these wild wins, weather its 116 life or 1 life, thought for sure cgb would have found some wild answer. Giving out the bananas was really cool though pretty fun. Thanks everyone for a great show!
Missed you the week you took off. Love this show and cast. Love the interaction, the balanced decks and the way the one who wins changes. Great show. Keep it up
Just wanted to say how much I love this show! I catch it every week and it’s one of the highlights to my Sunday. It gets better and better every episode. You guys are the best!
I love seeing somebody else using Maelstrom Wanderer for something other than cascade. I use mine for a Temur Tims deck. Nothing but tapping and untapping all day. The haste is awesome, but it's mainly the right colors and the cascade has never paid off lol
CGB cast his Bane of Progress, then responded to a banana sacrifice by casting Heroic Intervention. You can't respond to a Banana sacrifice as it's a mana ability, he'd have to either cast it before bane or hold priority and then cast it with bane still on the stack. A minor sequencing error that didn't really affect anything but it could have.
I know it's not relevant, but technically you take mana vault damage in the draw step. Just a neat little fact that almost never matters, but like, hey, it wouldn't be a UA-cam comment section if there was nothing to correct. XD
I saw a Kibo land destruction brew recently (using your bananas to help you AND give resources to your reticent opponents) and was low-key hoping we would see a similar idea here, mostly because I want to see how it would look lmao
I love how CGB says, "But I've been paying my taxes.", when Shay attacks him for the first time. The worrisome part to me is that he's ABLE to pay his taxes. Totally a target bro, sorry to say lol
Welcome back! Missed you guys past couple of weeks. Game interaction question: Wouldn't Zur's ability still be unable to turn the Devotion God's into creatures without the necessary devotion? I think the static ability stating "As long as your devotion to colour(s) is less than X, *God's name* isn't a creature" would still apply, negating Zur's activated ability.
I think Shea was playing Killer Instinct - like a 31 hit "Godlike" c-c-c-combo. Really was hoping to see: 1st turn Taiga --> Kird Ape or a Universal Apetomaton. Some Simian Grunts, maybe the new BRO dab monkey.. Simian Spirit Guide is very cool, yet not much monkey reinforcements. Guess it was not meant to be :( Sweet game though. Cool episode!
Would love to be on your show I love magic im a single father living in Clinton Township been playing commander for a few years now I played back in the day when commander first came out had Ur Dragon was really cool twist to magic now addicted to the game its what drives me. Yorion blink is a fun one seen you do on arena so I tried to make my own with a splash of land destruction
Kibo has: "Whenever an artifact an opponent controls is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control that’s an Ape or Monkey." When a (banana) token is sacrificed, it isn't going to the graveyard, is it? Why does every ape/monkey get's a +1/+1 when a token is sacrificed?
The Banana tokens are hitting the GY when they are sacrificed/destroyed and do trigger Kibo. The tokens immediately cease existing once the tokens hit the graveyard. Kibos ability does not specify "Artifact CARDS".
Tokens do go the graveyard when they are sacrificed! They immediately go *poof* before anybody can respond, but they do go there :). Same with returning a token to your hand. It goes there and then disappears. Same with exile and library.
For all of those you cast judgement and point out mistakes, remember those without sin cast the first stone. That been said I want to play shea in a pod. She may not always have the strongest deck but she is great at holding out till the end. A really good political player 🤜🤛
You recently said in a video you played at the '96 pro tour. I thought.. How can a child participate in a tour. But now I get it. Always thought you were much younger
I’m confused why sacrificing a banana token triggers Kibo. Isn’t it when artifacts go to graveyard? Tokens don’t go to graveyard do they? Edit: never mind. I just looked it up. I guess everything sacrificed or destroyed goes to the graveyard, but due to state based effects, tokens cease to exist in graveyards
I felt somewhat disgusted when CGB said "I'm so proud" when Shea cast Mana Drain on Jin-Gitaxias. DON"T LET THE BLUE MAGE INFLUENCE YOUR PLAYS SHEA!! But yeah, countering something that will repeatedly counter stuff could be considered poetic.
Worst Possible Decision Choosing a Champion / sit-in Sometimes instead of sitting out. I'd choose a Champion amongst the crowd to sit-in with my deck. Everyone needs a break, but WAITING IS FOR The WEAK 😠 👀@👉 Ropers ☝️
Could be a good point, I thought the same but the rule is actually saying : Regeneration is a replacement effect which means: "The next time this permanent would be destroyed this turn, it isn't. Instead tap it, remove all damage from it, and remove it from combat." Since never destroyed, they don't lose their counters.
@bouboulroz stack resolution has a lot of possible ways of playing but all spells must played at same time or in accordance with each other must resolve at same time the stack starts with the priority holder and goes from there when a new spell is played as a result it goes on the stack the caster now taking priority following player to left....or something like that this is just memory maybe rules have changed ..?...main point so I don't sound like a know it all ass hole mtg has rules and ordinance that's part of what makes it mtg obviously and I didn't see much of a system you guys where all over almost not looking like you knew what you doing

@@robbieadams-chew5440 Alright, first of all, I don't know why you adress me as "you guys" like I'm somehow part of the video. Secondly, your explanation is really hard to follow due to grammar, so I apologize if I miss the point. Spells don't have to be played at the same time. In fact, it's almost impossible for 2 spells to be played at the same time, since you have to finish casting a spell before any player can get priority. The exceptions are triggered abilities that triggers at the same timing, and when a spell or ability puts multiple spells onto the stack when resolving. And even then, they are ordered by the controling player each time. _"Must resolve at same time"_ --> this is literally impossible. Spells and abilities resolve in succession, never at the same time. Otherwise, counterspells would be useless since the spell they target would already be resolving at the time they are supposed to counter it. How the stack works: 1) Player holding priority puts a spell or ability onto the stack, and keeps priority. They can keep doing it until they can't or don't want to. 2) Next player in turn order now gets priority. 3) Repeat the steps 1 and 2 until no player wants to add anything onto the stack anymore. 4) The most recent object added onto the stack is resolved and removed from the stack, then state-based actions are checked repeatedly until none is found. 5) Priority is given back to the turn player, and new objects can now be added onto the already existing stack. 6) Go back to step 1, repeat until stack is empty, then priority is given to the turn player. Secondly because the rules policy state that some game actions can be performed out of order as long as the final outcome is the same as what the game state would've been if they were done in order. If I play a demonic tutor and crack a fetchland, I don't have to get the land, shuffle, then get a card and shuffle again. I can just get both in any order and shuffle after. As long as the land is onto the battlefield, the card in my hand, and the library shuffled, it doesn't matter.
