If I could creat paintings like some of you guys do on UA-cam I would just feel rich. And not rich becuz of what they could be purchased for but becuz they're little treasures. It's having that kind of talent to creat beauty inside yourself that would make me feel rich. It's a better feeling than having money.
Anyone can my friend. Art is self expression. Get yourself some books, and study art history. Visit your local art galleries and museums. Then you will see what treasures are in museums. There are millions of good artists out there. The more you learn about art, the less you will jump to conclusions. Value yourself and do not underestimate your hidden abilities. For painting abstract work, just get some paint and canvas to get a feel for the colors you have. Just put them on canvas. Try it! You will love it.

Oh Betty, I cannot wait for this pandemic to be over and to attend an in person session with you. I love your methods, your style, your inspiration, your colors... you inspire me to keep painting despite my tendency to overwork each piece. My paintings end up so “muddy” (not Brown, but rather overworked). I suck the happiness right out of the pieces 😊

I love that you’re doing two pieces at once. That would really break up my focus and allow me to be looser. I haven’t had this much fun painting since I took it up as a retirement hobby. I just love colour and that’s truly all I want to paint.

Another great video Betty- After watching you paint quite a few pieces, I decided to order a 10 set of those Woody crayons. Can't wait to play with them! Today, from watching you, I realized that I was washing my brush too often and hence, not getting the color harmony I aspired to. I love how you just keep paint on your brush to incorporate all the colors in your palette to create harmony. Having just moved from watercolor to acrylic it's a habit to keep my brushes really clean when switching colors- not anymore!

It's easy to see why you're so successful...you share and it comes from the heart,❤️ which creates abundance in your life. Conversely, some hold their 'knowledge' inside as if to keep it only for themselves ~ this only contradicts the natural laws of the universe and has the opposite effect. I had not intended to work oday, tidied studio and sorted out WIP, watched about 20 minutes of this and grabbed a pile of small pieces and had a painta long, all the way to the end. Thanks for the inspiration! I ended up touching over 50 little pieces, mostly 6'" x 8". A couple seem closer to complete, too :)
I have just discoverd you in my journey in how to make a art channel... You keep amazing me w the final outcome from your layering. Ive painted all my life, and often its hard for me to find a abstract artist who kerps my attention and can teach me more and you succeed at it.. I guess our learning is like layering too.. I should definitely loosen up and just paint. I studied visual arts and have a weird feeling of guilt when I paint. I feel almost irresponsible. After a great beginning and a hurricane that destroyed all my artwork on my walls I couldn't bring myself to paint again. Im just going to go for it. Just do it.
Hi Betty! Love your work. Know of Joan Mitchell from college. I've Been working in oil pastel and oil paint. Very interested in Nova acrylics. Always surprised when people say they have never heard of great painters like Joan Mitchell. Stuck on east coast where"realism" seems to be prized.

I had not intended to work oday, tidied studio and sorted out WIP, watched about 20 minutes of this and grabbed a pile of small pieces and had a painta long, all the way to the end. Thanks for the inspiration! I ended up touching over 50 little pieces, mostly 6'" x 8". A couple seem closer to complete, too :)

I have just discoverd you in my journey in how to make a art channel... You keep amazing me w the final outcome from your layering. Ive painted all my life, and often its hard for me to find a abstract artist who kerps my attention and can teach me more and you succeed at it.. I guess our learning is like layering too.. I should definitely loosen up and just paint. I studied visual arts and have a weird feeling of guilt when I paint. I feel almost irresponsible. After a great beginning and a hurricane that destroyed all my artwork on my walls I couldn't bring myself to paint again. Im just going to go for it. Just do it.

Hi Betty! Love your work. Know of Joan Mitchell from college. I've Been working in oil pastel and oil paint. Very interested in Nova acrylics. Always surprised when people say they have never heard of great painters like Joan Mitchell. Stuck on east coast where"realism" seems to be prized.
In their defense, there are so many artists/painters I haven't heard about either. 😁 I think you have to be into abstract at to know Joan's work. Although, I probably couldn't name a single realism painter! 😜 Thanks so much for watching and commenting, Phil! Have a great weekend!
