Hello and welcome! I'm Betty Franks Krause and I create my vision of abstract fields of flowers using acrylic paints and pencils (and other mark-making tools). I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and travel a couple of times a year to Preko, Croatia (where my parents live). I started painting in 2012 and focused on abstract art in the summer of 2015. I just love this piece, your style and this whole video! It was so instructive for me to see your process - thank you so much for sharing this. (PS Would you ever consider a video without the music? The close captioning just didn't follow your beautiful voice fast enough and it was like trying to watch and learn while an ice cream truck circled the block over and over LOL).
Hahaha...we hate the ice cream truck circling the block non-stop! Thank you for your feedback, Poppy. Sometimes it's nice to have some background music, but sometimes it's nice to have silence. I turned it down really low, but I'm sure it got a little annoying after a while anyway! I appreciate you watching the video! Thanks!!

🌸Ok, loving watching and re-watching vids from you! Interesting when you zoom in and focus on small areas, I can see them being a inspiration for a large canvas or cradled panel. Just made a list of what I’d want in a studio. I’m so sick of trying to create in a dining room. I’m not great about putting things away after everything I do! 😅 Kris
It's no fun having to clean up after you're done creating. Sounds like it's time for you to move to a place with a door you can close and just walk away (well, after you wash out your brushes!). Keep on creating!

I think if you stick with warm colors first and then cool colors you can avoid making mud. It's when we mix warm and cool colors...that's what makes mud! Thanks so much for watching, Joanne!

Hi Tina! I prefer to moving quickly from one brush stroke/mark making to the next until the very end where i have to do more thinking...then I slow down.
