Ben..Can you tell me how to have the embed autoplay> I'm sending out a ton of emails from my CRM. Only one person clicked on the video to play it. I think people are wary of clicking on anything from someone they don't know well. I read an article that it is possible to autoplay but can't find that article. Thanks for the awesome info you put out!
Really thanks, your video helped me a lot!!
Thank you so much. Did it!!!!
Great Video! Spot on with what I was looking for! Thank you.

Thank you very much for the helpful video. Please add that after inserting an image, select it from right to left and a small instructions bar will appear beneath the image. Please add the video URL into it and bingo, email with video link ready.
Thanks for the help Ben. Very helpful.
Any time!
Wow these are great techniques. Thanks Ben! Subscribed :)
Great tips BEN - video in email is becoming more and more important! - Dane
Thanks Dane. It sure is. What’s your go to approach for embedding video in emails?
@@EngageBen I don't have one. I'm considering Soapbox but also there's a platform we had on our podcast called Magnfi.
Great tips! Thank you!
Do you have a video about creating a newsletter that includes gifs?
Very useful information, thanks for sharing
Great hacks! Thank you

Any time!

That was really helpful. Thanks very much.
Glad to hear it!
Brilliant!
when i upload my video and follow your steps, my the copied link doesnt show as an animated gif in the email. just a still thumbnail. What did i do wrong?
Thanks so much. This was so helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the great tips!
You are so welcome!
Hello thankyou for this video however, I cant seem the hyperlink the screenshot?
Thanks!
wow, Amazing vide thanks
Have Gmail changed anything?I can't access hyperlink option on inserted image or insert a GIf (Dec 2024)
Although good info (which I'm already aware of) I'm looking for a way (if there is one) to literally play the video directly inside the email - not hyperlinked. Small videos like "Thanks for attending our recent seminar" can in fact be smaller than 10MB when compressed with HandBrake or some similar method. That being said, most (if not all) email programs are wary of spam when the email has a large attachment. So my question is, is this even possible?
Ben, Thanks a for this great tutorial.
My pleasure!. Did you get the linking in apple mail sorted?
@@EngageBen Yes Ben, Thank you.
Thanks for the help. I have my video in the header of my newsletter in Mailchimp. And it plays - but it takes the viewer to UA-cam with all the other thumbnails of videos and when it has played it does not go back to my newsletter. How do I get it to play in the newsletter but stay on the newsletter?
Unfortunately video doesn't play natively within email viewers. So the only way to play a video in an email is to link out to a player somewhere else (such as youtube)
GoodDay mate 🙏🏾
Thank you Ben! This is such a great video! Only one question my giphy becomes static as soon as I add it to the email. Why is that?
Thanks. The gif should play on the recipients end however every email software does treat gifs differently so it’s good to test as much as possible.
Good information nice great information
I see this video is dated. Is there an updated free video taking app for windows 11 that works best? The Recordit app doesn't open for me.
What if it's too big?
It’s a big inconvenience that video files over 25MB can’t be sent via Gmail attachment directly. How to fix?
Incredible video !!! 🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪
Thanks for watching :) glad it helped.
Can you upload a video on how to embed a video on outlook mail merge/bulk email using outlook? Thank you.
I have tried with Gmail, AOL and Yahoo but I can see no way of linking the image within email to a URL of video......? Any suggestions / help?
Very good video!!
Thanks Bjornar!
Excelent video, thxs
Thanks for watching
When i try to hyperlink the picture there is no Edit button like in this video. could someone help
After inserting an image, select it from right to left and a small instructions bar will appear beneath the image. Please add the video URL into it and bingo, email with video link ready.
@@bhaveshudesai Thank you for the clarification on how to add the hyperlink :-)
Image doesn't seem to be clickable on Gmail or YahooMail, what email are you using please? :)
Hey Ben, Is there any option to play a complete video inside the email without going to an external link? I mean if we make the campaign for just awareness purses intending to give a call to action later on emails. Thanks for this, helpful
Unfortunately not. Due to the huge variety of email inbox software (ie Gmail, outlook, apple mail, etc etc) and the fact that these apps are designed to open rich text /HTML content not or embedded content the only way to get a video to play for your recipient is to make it one click and send them elsewhere to view it. The goal is to make it seem to a recipient that they are watching the video is your email even though they clicked through to somewhere else. Make it easy for them.
@@EngageBen Thanks
Well done! -Dane
Hey Dane! Thanks for watching VidiUp
Thanks
No problem
Ben when I hit the share button it does not give me an email option
You're looking for a share link, not an email option. Copy that link and then follow the steps in the video to embed the link in your email.
Thank you for the video! When I try to embed the gif, it is static. Do you know why?
Not sure. Try a test send and see how it shows up in an inbox :)
So there is no way to actually embed the complete video so that it plays within the email, the same as it would do if you embedded on a web page? I'm thinking "no", but maybe there is a way. Gppd tut, thanks.
Great tips as always Ben. Just wondering though, why the video is stuttering a bit?
Thanks Mark. Had an issue when recording into eCamm and stupidly didn’t record onto the sd card at the same time. I couldn’t be arsed doing a reshoot so went with it anyway :)
@@EngageBen Ah Ok, fair enough 😀
my text links are not going to a page its shwing a bunch of code
what about embedding a video that does not have a URL?
Thank you Ben. However my Gmail doesn't have the option to create a hyperlink. I can inset a link an that's that.
Hi Colin. A hyperlink is the same as a link. Gmail does this very easily. Just select the image when composing your email and add a link to your video to the image
I'm with you until 3.38. How are you creating a hyperlink exactly? It's just an image, when you do it, you get an edit screen. I get nothing to create a link. Thanks.
You should be able to select the image and then use the ‘add link’ option in the toolbar to make the image hyperlinked.
@@EngageBen are you available to hire as a consultant to help me during resume call i'd be happy to pay you to help me get this get this done
so I just have a clear mind and I tried again and I played the video my thumbnail and I click share and it and it shows my thumbnail with the play arrow in middle and I do the embed and I sent it to myself and it doesn't play But it's not the screenshot of me in the middle of the video I don't know how to share that because when I hit share the assigned thumbnail come now comes up ?
1. I click share 2. choose embed 3. screenshot thumbnail 4. move mouse over thumbnail and nothing. When you do it an edit icon pops up I do not get that. I am using gmail. I'd like to hire you to teach me😔👍
@@PreviousChannel79 shoot me an email ben@engagevideomarketing.com - we’ll sort this out for you.
The Vidyard video is not coming out as a gif. What could be wrong?
I assume you’ve selected the ‘animated thumbnail’ option in the Vidyard editor? If it’s not copying to your email program with the animation then I am unsure. Might need to contact Vidyard support.
It would be even a greater help if you were clicking faster on the icons during presentation.
What's the name of that app
Unfortunately this does not work in things like Gmail
I didn't catch how to hyperlink the image. He went very fast through that, darn it!
youtube wants to put an ad in the front of the video - how do I avoid that as I dont want my viewers distracted
Ahh - that's the unavoidable downside of UA-cam these days. There isn't a way around this, as UA-cam is an ad driven platform. You would need to host on a different platform like Vimeo or Wistia.
Can’t see the Screen at all
I can't get it linked to the image in gmail.
Hi Tammy - you should be able to click in the image when it's in your email and then select the 'link' button to the right of your send button in the gmail compose window. The link button looks like a chain link. Hope that helps.
@@EngageBen Thank you for your quick response. I got it to work. I wasn't highlighting it all the way.
Doesnt work dude. No one has this elusive "Edit" and "add link" button you have
Same issue
I just wanted to send a video! No UA-cam! Aaarg!
Heads Up --- the first 2 minutes are useless rambling. fast forward to 2:04
Absolutely no idea how to teach novices. so frustrated!!!!!
Hi J. How can I help? What is frustrating you?
