All the best with that sir. I'm an Antipodean Triumph owner of the early Hinkley persuasion, but I have very fond childhood/adolescent memories of watching out for Nortons on the street and of course memorable Norton magazine advertisements of the 70's. My adolescent lust always ran to a Commando Interstate (and/or the lass adorning them) but was alas, never fully realised. I hope the modern incarnations prove to be easier to live with. Looking forward to seeing you, Wales and the Norton in future videos.
Thank you for your comments, and greetings from Wales 🏴 I have had a couple of Hinckley Triumphs myself (Bonneville and Thunderbird) but I prefer the character of the Norton. Keeping a 961 running is a job in itself, but the rewards are well worth it. Cheers!
Thank you great content. Seems alot of misunderstanding when it comes to Norton. As a owner and Toolmaker I am very impressed with their intention to restart UK motorcycle manufacturering.
Good stuff. I've got a new Commando 961 CF on order, delvery in a few weeks, so am looking forward to joining the Norton community. I'm having the wire wheels converted to tubeless compatible. That might be of interest to other owners?
Norton's wire wheels are made by Central Wheel Components in Birmingham. When I contacted them they told me that they had offered to supply the wheels as tubeless-ready to Norton who declined. in any case, they can convert the wheels to tubeless, and quoted me £135/wheel. Convenient for me as I am in Brum and both the new Norton factory and Central Wheel Components are nearby.
I am new to Norton. I have just purchased a 2015 commando with 2014 miles on her. Not been used on 4 years so oil leaks Fork seals Cush drive are shot. I'm fitting a decat link pipe and I'm thinking about doing the airbox mod ( will I need a remap ? Going to install smaller indicators and a tail tidy. Just swapped the gold 916 style master cylinders to so Brembo radial ones. Is there any other Mods you would recommend? Regards John
Hi John are you in the UK? If so I highly recommend getting the bike to Stu Bodycote at Motorvated in Derby. He's an ex-Norton employee and knows these bikes inside and out, he'll get your bike fully sorted for you. Hope you enjoy the bike! Cheers. Jonathan.
I'm interested in getting one in India if they plan to compete in the mid category retros against the likes of Royal Enfield and Triumph. TVS has created wonders for the motorcycling community in India with their affordable Apache, RTR series for beginners. They've only recently started to develop retro bikes like the Ronin but that was really not a good product. If Nortons were to hit the market and are priced accordingly the Indian and South East Asian markets could help them stay afloat and focus on top niche models they produce.
Hi, thanks for your comments. There was an article in this week’s Motorcycle News saying that Norton are planning to take the brand global, and that they are planning some smaller capacity bikes. So it could happen. They are not aiming at entry level bikes though.
@@NortonUnofficial Thanks for the reply. The smaller capacity models will sell like hot cakes in India since we've a growing market moving from 100-125cc commuter bikes, scooters to higher capacity motorcycles. I don't think that's the case in the Western market. Weirdly though, British designs and British heritage of any brand gives it a reputation of being trustworthy. I wish the best for Norton. Hopefully they make great products and honour their legacy and not just throw cheap products at us with their brand label. Cheers. Aryan, New Delhi.

Your list of place names has missed out Norton near Malton in North Yorkshire.
Hi, thanks! That was just a sample of place names, I didn’t list all 44. Happy Christmas, and ride safe

Thank you, I really appreciate it. I hope the new owners can make a fresh start. Ride safe
Some interesting plans Jonathan. Maybe a few can meet up at some of the various 'Nortons'. Nice bike in the video thumb nail😀
That would be cool! Yep, that is an award winning bike right there 😉
Some clever moves.
Thanks for your comment. Ride safe
Nice one!
Did you include Norton, down the Vale, where I went?
Cheers mate. I will include it for sure!

Welcome! I'd definitely be interested in a tubeless conversion, where are you having that done?

Glad that this motorcycle brand is owned by TVS
It seems to be in good hands 👍🏻
And the EICMA !
Yes! But maybe not on a Norton 😂
Any 'Gearbox seize' news?
Chipped gear tooth is what locked it up. Been able to source a replacement and hope to have that fitted in the next months.
