It was unbelievable to hear this sung by Every nationality attending the Commonwealth games in Glasgow 2014. As a Glaswegian Clydesider Volunteer standing next to a Jamaican spectator who sang every word I was so chuffed and she was so proud to be there! Soar Alba!
my dad was there , i saw sunshine on leith with my new American friend and i told them "the Scottish band proclamiers sing all the song u heard" and i played the song and did ma wee dance
I really dont understand why some people have to come on a video just to say shit about it. Okayy you dont like them, you intitled to your own opinion but why waste your time? Cause its not going to change anybody else's mind on what they think! Love this song
When i wake up yeah i know i'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next to you When i go out yeah i know i'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you If i get drunk yes i know i'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you And if i haver yeah i know i'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who's havering to you But i would walk 500 miles And i would walk 500 more Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles To fall down at your door When i'm working yes i know i'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who's working hard for you And when the money comes in for the work i'll do I'll pass almost every penny on to you When i come home yeah i know i'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you And if i grow old well i know i'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you But i would walk 500 miles And i would walk 500 more Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles To fall down at your door When i'm lonely well i know i'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man whose lonely without you When i'm dreaming well i know i'm gonna dream I'm gonna dream about the time when i'm with you. When i go out yeah i know i'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you When i come home yes i know i'm gonna be, I'm gonna, be the man who comes back home with you I'm gonna be the man who's coming home with you But i would walk 500 miles And i would walk 500 more Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles To fall down at your door But i would walk 500 miles And i would walk 500 more Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles To fall down at your door
When people think Scotland they'll go: Kilts, bagpipes, haggis. And I will always tell them "Hey don't forget the proclaimers." "When you go will you send back a letter from America."
Imagine your math teacher being apart of the proclaimers “class you’re going to get a substitute teacher next Monday” student: “why?” Proclaimer singer: “I’m going to be singing in front of 1000 people. We’re called the proclaimers. Look us up on UA-cam for homework. Maybe I’ll give you free tickets” that’ll make me do my HW real quick!!
Shame that not many Indonesians know this song or The Proclaimers. Whenever I go crazy with this song everybody around me stares like I'm a weirdo or something. I am one lonely The Proclaimers fan here.
@johnnyblunder I suppose they get invited because people like it, that should be the reason. And they don't have to travel too far... Well, as long as they are not touring the world (Czech Republic yesterday). Shame the BBC isn't showing the rest of the songs.
When the Proclaimers sing we are all Scottish.
hahhahaha omg yes! I feel scottish now, but I'm not!

Michael Johnston I take this more serious than I should, but I don't care - THANK YOU

I'm gutted the BBC didn't show more from their set. It was classic!
Legendary track
That's how you say Thaoouzand!!
When i wake up yeah i know i'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next to you
When i go out yeah i know i'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you
If i get drunk yes i know i'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you
And if i haver yeah i know i'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's havering to you
But i would walk 500 miles
And i would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door
When i'm working yes i know i'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's working hard for you
And when the money comes in for the work i'll do
I'll pass almost every penny on to you
When i come home yeah i know i'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you
And if i grow old well i know i'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you
But i would walk 500 miles
And i would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door
When i'm lonely well i know i'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man whose lonely without you
When i'm dreaming well i know i'm gonna dream
I'm gonna dream about the time when i'm with you.
When i go out yeah i know i'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you
When i come home yes i know i'm gonna be,
I'm gonna, be the man who comes back home with you
I'm gonna be the man who's coming home with you
But i would walk 500 miles
And i would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door
But i would walk 500 miles
And i would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles
To fall down at your door
Of course you are not the only one. I bet you have a big smile on your face whenever you imagine them in the Fiero singing this song. :D
Glad you like it, I'll try to catch some more webcast stuff these days :)

When people think Scotland they'll go: Kilts, bagpipes, haggis.
And I will always tell them "Hey don't forget the proclaimers."
"When you go will you send back a letter from America."

Amazing crowd

es78xx's well said johnny did make a blunder there these guys are utter legends!
i love the fact everyone is bouncing :D
This song reminds me the movie Benny and June starring Jhonny Depp and Mary Stuart Masterson
its funny cuz theyre not that famous but they can make a crowd of 100,000 go absolutely NUTS with this song
They are extremely famous in Scotland
haaha the crowd screwed up the end of the first verse with the da da da part too early
They did that this year with the Imagine Dragons cover, look it up on youtube it is really good
Critical Bloke aha they did that in 2006 too. They probably always do :')
three10media Seems like they always do that. I can't help myself, either.
It's not a muck up...they always do it..
It's our favourite part
love the way the crowd sing teh dadadadas at the end of first chorus which always happens even tho there isnt any lol
thank so much melissa macarthy
Benny & Joon, Awesome live btw
Imagine your math teacher being apart of the proclaimers “class you’re going to get a substitute teacher next Monday” student: “why?” Proclaimer singer: “I’m going to be singing in front of 1000 people. We’re called the proclaimers. Look us up on UA-cam for homework. Maybe I’ll give you free tickets” that’ll make me do my HW real quick!!
thumbs up for the muse music at the start
Oh God No... Proclaimers + Scotland =
I think the crowd are actually louder than both the brothers =P
Dont worry it comes around again
i love celtic
Class o gymru
Make a song. if 50000 people sing the text and dance and scream, you can say what you want. this song (in the ive version) makes me happy :)
always makes me smile when the crowd gets the words wrong :P 0.54
0:07 and 3:39 - identical image used twice!
Shame that not many Indonesians know this song or The Proclaimers. Whenever I go crazy with this song everybody around me stares like I'm a weirdo or something. I am one lonely The Proclaimers fan here.
@dukieboy007 if you don't like why watch it. Sure there are many other things on UA-cam, but thanks for watching anyway.
9 years but im still here
Brought to you in 5 fps!
this is basically the national anthem nowadays
I like that intro unnatural selection by muse
why did it have to rain for 2 days??
Look at the reaction
@johnnyblunder
when was the last time you whipped a crowd of 85000 people into a frenzy in a matter of seconds????????????????????????/
@twinkletwinkle72 :) true but love this still :)
@johnnyblunder I suppose they get invited because people like it, that should be the reason. And they don't have to travel too far... Well, as long as they are not touring the world (Czech Republic yesterday). Shame the BBC isn't showing the rest of the songs.
Gutted how the BBC only showed this song from the set. Songs like Letter From America and Sunshine on Leith were better but this was ace!
Proclaimers & Hibs rules....🏴🇳🇬🍀💚💚💚😊. We all Scottish.
@DaredevilnV Because they are Scots, it's their music, and they want to participate!
they are, to each other's kids lol
0:25 the man in yellow is that Harry from the side men
