    Flipping the entire thing upside down to reassemble: genius! I had heard somewhere that there used to be a thin, plastic template - basically looked like a big gasket - that you'd lay over the top of the grids and it would hold them in alignment for easy reassembly.

      The piece you are talking about is sometimes called the spacer or a template, but it is made of such thin plastic that it gets broken/discarded in only a few seasons. Example of the template - www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352027001.htm

    Install upside down helped tremdously. I knew there was a better way. Dunno if you mentioned to align the bottom side properly to allow space for plumbing but mine required it. Thanks for the vid.

    Had a few holes in the filter screens. Rather then replace the whole screen I used clear Flex Seal. Amazing! The holes were 1". $12 vs ?.

    Some very good tips BUT
    - get a proper socket wrench instead of using channel locks to mangle the band bolt
    - is it OK to dump DE directly into the skimmer? I always mix it into water first
    - how often do you replace those rubber rings? very rarely, I hope

    Any recommendations on draining the DE filter from the cap without having it make such a mess with the DE powder left around it as it dries? Like would you recommend some sort of hose, etc. on the cap as it's opened to drain or would a backwash prior to draining be enough so that only water is coming out the cap rather than full of DE?

    I replaced the entire grid assembly with a new one but still getting de in pool,where should I look next.? Appreciate any help.

    • @Inyopools
      @Inyopools  2 роки тому

      If the DE is coming out of the return jets, the next most common issues would be a cracked manifold or a bad standpipe o-ring. The standpipe o-ring would be located where you slip the manifold onto the pipe inside the filter. If DE is backing up through your main drain or skimmer, you probably have a suction side or pressure side leak in the plumbing.

    How did you get the bottom manifold (which is now the top manifold) on? Wish you were in full detail when you did this video

    • @Inyopools
      @Inyopools  Рік тому

      It's placed on the grids. The only thing not verbally mentioned, but the tech is shown doing is making sure the grids are sitting between the "fins" on the bottom manifold. This makes sure the grids have uniform spacing.

    After removing our DE Filter Grids, we noticed they are tinted green... is this okay?

    • @Inyopools
      @Inyopools  4 роки тому

      A green tint is ok but you can soak the grids to get rid of that tint. Some people will soak them in a mixture of 1 part muriatic acid to 20 parts water.
