    The melo cuttings remind me so much of micans. I guess that’s why I like micans so much, they have the looks of an expensive plant. 😂

      I can’t wait for that! I used to have a melano a long time ago it was a prop and didn’t make it so hoping this one will grow better for me! 🤗

    ❤❤thank you for sharing these! I’m so curious how you keep your kitties from biting the plants 😂 my cat used to be so chill but started to chew off all my precious Calathea lately… it really saddens me cause I’ve had them since the beginning of the pandemic and they have given me so much hope and comfort

    Beautiful Melano. Can't wait for the babies to climb the pole and see how it looks all filled out. So exciting.

    I have a question: my philodendron Goldie finger leaf lost all its leaves and went dormant, how do I take care of a dormant philo? The same thing happen to my Alocasia zebrina

  • @marymiller5824
    @marymiller5824 Рік тому +1

    Some of my Alocasia have gotten a type of mold on the soil. I did not see any spider mites, and I’ve treated them as a precaution. I’ve changed the top couple inches of of soil before but it’s back. Have you ever experienced that?

      I get white fuzzy mold sometimes but I usually get it when there isn’t enough air flowing around or the top of the pot is blocked somehow. I usually scrape it off and you can add some cinnamon to the top as a fungicide to help get rid of it too ☺️

    Good job removing all the moss and only losing a little of the roots...I am not sure if I would be able to do it...Lovely plant babies and cat babies

    Such beautiful healthy babies ❤. Great step by step video, you make it look very easy 😅. Love your cats, I have one named Luna 🐈‍⬛. How long did you have the props in that perfect container? Thank you for the video, love it 🥰

      Thank you!! They’re so cute 🥹 I love the name Luna! I started those wetsticks probably 5 months ago! I could have potted them up by now but then I noticed the fungus on the melano plant so I wanted to wait a bit ☺️

    this looks like EFN(extra floral nectaris) damage. my Melanocrysome produces so much of that sap that if I want to keep it's leaves healthy looking I have to wash and cleanse the leaves whenever I see any EFN on it(every few days)

    How do you know when to water your moss poles?

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  Рік тому +2

      I water mine twice a week. The moss tends to dry out in a couple days so I try to stay on top of keeping them moist but it can be a lot of work!
