    Great videos Aaron. !
I buckstiched 100s of belts in the 70s for belt maker Danny Elkins in Gallup NM just a few tips . Start punching holes fron the tip end back. Measure 3.5 times the length of belt . Start lacing from the tip half of lace do a few holes then wrap exess around belt then lace back to buckle end . Come through back to outside edge . By doing half the lace its easier to work with plus you get less ware on lace . Hope this help . I agree its almost impossiblr to find buckstiching tongs . I bought your at Prescott . Thanks for making them .

Another quick tip always try to punch the holes while there is still some moisture in the belt from making it. It helps prevent a dry leather spliting disaster.

Thanks Arron. I got my patterns Friday and i was able to make a "QUICK" filed note cover out of some crap leather. It all went together really well. So, Needless to say I just may purchase the Buck Stitch tools soo as well. I was really HAPPY that the patterns were so thick . They will last at least my lifetime.

Thank you for making this. Buck stitching is one thing I haven’t tried yet. Just haven’t had the opportunity to do it. But I really want to so thanks for taking the time to make this video. Those chisels look super nice. I just received my first order from y’all and couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait to go back and see what else I “need”. 😉

Nice belt, love the DG pattern and the nice touch you put on it with the piping. Also thanks for seeing the need for a better buckstitching pricking iron, great job!

Really nice belt. I love buckstitching and lacing - it seems to be out of vogue these days, but I love all 50's dude cowboy stuff anyway, so I go for it! As an aside, it's been my experience (limited as it is, but learned the hard way LOL) that it's usually better to splice than to run so much lace through that many holes as the edges tend to not look so good by the time you get to the end, especially on white lace. I use the Al Stohlman method of splicing and that works very well, and it's secure.
I do have a question, after you apply your antique, do you apply any other clear finish, like Tan-Kote, Supershene, Resolene or the like? Keep making great videos, a guy I know here in Austin uses your templates quite a bit, and I want to try one myself eventually! Thanks again!

Just to have some nice and easy holes. The 5/32 lace would look a little large on this project... more for saddles and larger stuff like that.
