I'm not sure if this plan of doing 2 versions of videos is going to be very useful. Hilariously I had to film late at night in my shop so all the racket from our building wasn't going on. Kind of both counter productive and zenlike. No music.. no radio.. no trucks... interesting process. Anyone else into ASMR videos like me?
I know it has taken much practice yet I say it once again, you have been given a gift from the Gods to produce fantastic Viking knotwork that never ceases to amaze me. Great craftsmanship on the entire piece. I hope one day my knots lay down as awesome as yours.
It's great usually hearing you narrate over your videos.. However this was just serene to watch you do your thing and only hear the tools at work. Really enjoyed that.
This was so cool! I've been watching ASMR for about 5 years now, and while I miss the humor that comes with the voice over, I found myself paying so much more attention to the small details. Thank you for sharing, excellent as always!!
Love this video ❤️ Would you ever consider doing a leather care video? I clean horse tack as a side gig and have my own routine but would love to see what you do for armor and such.
Can you tell me the tools for punching the holes for the buckle and the thing your tracing the pattern with. Thanks for this video.. my belts shot and I thought I'd make one. XD ..
I randomly had the video of the No excuse leather pouch on my watch later. Very lovely recommendation. Maybe the UA-cam algorithm isnt total trash. Hello and thanks from a new subscriber!
Which dye colors did you use? Great belt. Only thing I’d do different would be to use snaps instead of rivets. That way if I found a buckle I really wanted to use it would be easier to switch out.
How do you stop the antique gel from getting in the back of the belt? Or did you dye the back? Didn't see. I always get gel on the back of my projects and it drives me up the wall. I tried using masking tape or painters tape to protect it, but it kinda tears the fibres of the flesh side upon removal.
Certainly got some on the back. I was thinking of ways to avoid it and will share them if I can figure it out heheh. I guess you could do a light bench sliver on the back after.
I sometimes just use masking tape, the worse the quality the better :D You dont want the tape to have strong adhesive on it, just sticky enough to stay in place.
If given a choice, I would prefer the videos where you are explaining what you are doing or at least what you are using (i.e. what tool or size tool). I just find those to be better for me with learning and reinforcing the learning. If I had a few years leather work experience and understood the hows and whys of doing then this silent type video might appeal to me but I'm not anywhere near that learning point yet. The choice in videos is yours since you are the creator and I appreciate what you put out so please keep doing, just not so quietly. :)
Ill tell ya, theres nothing better in the world than walking into a store and seeing an overpriced factory assembled "leather" product and thinking to yourself "pfft, i can make that at home" and actually having the skill to do it lol.
Ah. Yeah. I made a test belt with flowers. Some dyed some not. Just to see if antiquing would do the trick. Others say it looks good. I thought it looked muddy. But I'm sadly a perfectionist even though I am new to leather I feel I should be at expert level by now.
Wth is ASMR anyway it is everywhere all of a sudden ? Like really I don't know......... Edit: ok I googled it... That's the point? It's just asmr. A relaxing video. You shouldnt need to know anything this is extremely simple unless this is your first time seeing leather work

Never heard of it before
Not a fan of ASMR videos. Those eating ones make me gag and the whispering ones make me feel like a voyeur. But this one I enjoyed.
No it's really not my thing. I also use your channel for learning, just watching didn't do a whole lot for me
I like the ones where u explain what your doing better
What does ASMR mean?

Amazing! Glad you made this video, was just wanting to make a norse belt and needed a little idea as to what to do and this really helped!
Thanks for the close up on the beveling It helped me figure out what I was doing wrong.. As always, awesome video sir!

Will be doing another version of this video with the voice over.
@@DarkHorseWorkshop We're ready for the voice over version :)
the only asmr video that hasn't made me deeply uncomfortable. more please!
You must not understand how many genres there are then lmao. Doesnt have to be whispering or anything. That's not even half of the videos
The tap tap tap is oddly satisfying. Really dug this video!
Would LOVE a weightlifting belt pattern. Also thankyou for continuing to inspire me so much. My skills are growing with your patterns and tutorials
The silent treatment.. have we displeased you :-( missing that calm voice
Love this video ❤️

Best video ever. Thanks for sharing your workflow.
Very nice indeed. I'm going to try bees waxing my belt edges and this looks like you have it to an art.
Great video thanks.
your years of experiance makes your stamp work look so easy to do. I have such a hard time doing bevels

I have a question why a ceramic blade what's the difference I ask because it's the one blade I don't have
Pure awesomeness love ASMR videos...love leather now both in one it’s a win 😁
I've been watching them for a fair bit, I even started a separate channel that I've neglected...
What type of leather would be best for making a watch strap?
Depends on your skill level and tools. To start some vegetan or Latigo would be nice.
Thanks! Great video by the way!
I got my bracelet autographed with a sharpie. Is their a way i can seal it and clear coat it?
Try acrylic resolene. Should do nicely
@@ryanmcewen393 thank you. So much. It's signed by James O'barr.
I am speechless...How good you are...
the nails of a working man. love that shit.
What was the last dark coating you rubbed in after the resolene spray?
A dark brown antique gel
Thanks. I have spent the afternoon making my second ever belt. Cheers for inspiration and sharing your skills.
What ounce leather are you using?
Which dye colors did you use? Great belt. Only thing I’d do different would be to use snaps instead of rivets. That way if I found a buckle I really wanted to use it would be easier to switch out.
Light brown pro dye and dark brown antique gel
its realy cool to see what you can do with leather :D and i think im your 66.000 follower congrats to this big number of people! :3
Where is the simplicity of the belt?...I love ❤️ it. Thank you very much for taking the time to share with us your creations...

@@prowokator yeah, I've been using Mammoth tape for delicate surfaces, but a pesky little glob alway manages to sneak under it lol
I totally have done a super thin skive before that worked out
What weight is the leather your using?
8 to 10oz
Did you use breeze wax on your edges? Loved watching this video!
Loving the art on this belt, can I get the pattern?
Pattern is on my Etsy for a big 2 bucks.
A long hole iron!!!!
Where to get?!!!
Good stuff!
love you videos
Cool
Is it just me... or were there no belt holes in the other end of the belt?
Spot on, left them off it until someone wanted it sized to them. Of course it's still on my shelf I should have just punched them. Haha
Watched the asthma edition and didnt even need an inhaler!
Asmr
Lowkey all your videos are asmr 😏
My lord, i want to buy this belt!
Still for sale on my Etsy..haha
@@DarkHorseWorkshop Interresting! Is there a way i can contact you directly sir?
it's interesting, seeing one of your videos and not hearing your voice. it's nice like this too, but i like rambling better :)

That many straight lines with no straight edge for me would be akin to walking a tightrope with no net.
Trust me I was a bit worried.

I'm personally not a fan of black antiquing. It muddies it. Dark brown would be nice. But that's for my projects. Just personal preference
That's a dark brown, very very dark brown.

@@ricHard.18 You need to have a solid resist on before you antique.
I did. I even let it set for 24 hours before any antiquing. But that's life. Good work by the way. Makes me want to draw more Celtic art.
@@ricHard.18 what resist did you use and how was it applied?
My wife just asked for a leather belt. After watching this, I might just have to make her one.

ye gods, those dirty chewed finger nails made me feel ill!

Common leather crafters problem.
Dye stains leather. Skin is just untanned leather.
