      Maria I have downloaded the Butterfly challenge app, but the videos are very small. They don't enlarge when I rotate the phone, and honestly, I am struggling to see what you are doing in some of the routines. Are these videos available on UA-cam? Also the videos are somewhat abbreviated so for a first watch Its not always clear what I should be doing, as your explanations are somewhat truncated.

      @@toddashton9696 Hi Todd - sorry, they are not on in a YT video. You could email my assistant and ask them for the PDF version so you could open those links on your desktop and to watch them.

    This is unreal. I recently started trying goalie and my left hip is giving all kinds of grief. Your exercises, and especially this routine, have really helped me to feel so much better. I was worried it might mean I can’t do goalie, but now I think it’s more a matter of proper strength and stretch training 🙏

      So happy to help Tom - that is great that you have been working on it consistently, that is the key. A lot of adult goalies feel the same way, but when you consistently work on the right things as a goalie, good things happen. You feel better and stop more pucks too!

    So I realized you posted this video 2yrs ago, but I can tell you I just had a major bout with super tight hips and lower back pain. Just coming out of all that pain for the past two weeks and your hip mobility exercises have been clutch! Wish I started them before.

    44 years old almost 45, haven't played in a long time (drop in skates now & then) and looking to get back into the crease again. I have had a hip replacement done so I will have a more narrow butterfly, but I'm OK with that... b/c the game/position has changed so much, I'm approaching this like I have never played before, so starting from scratch... I know it'll be daunting, but I will do... I also lost 90+ pounds since last July & feel so much better. I used to watch your videos a couple of years ago but though I'd never really play again... anyways, thank you so much Maria for putting out such incredible, useful & practical information to so many ppl who not only love this game, but LOVE this position... Ok, I'm done rambling now 😬

    I loooooove all your workouts and your hole approach to mobility. By the way all this moves feel pretty good...even the lacrosse ball in a sort of masochist way. I'm starting the strategic mobility program and I'll be doing this 5 minute routine before my yoga classes. I'll love a video on deepening the splits both front and side, its a move I love so much and I'm pretty sure I can do it...just have to unlock the right muscle and joint group. thank you!

    I would absolutely like to see a video created for deeper splits. Both middle and side. I just don’t know if there are certain exercises or muscles to unlock to achieve both an feel that it would help me on the ice.

    Big fan of the hip CAR’s would you also say the side lying Hip CAR is as beneficial as the standing?

    • @goalietraining
      @goalietraining  3 роки тому

      I really like the sidelying because then you don't have to worry as much about the dynamic stabilization element. Both good exercises.

    Just want to ask for this and the butterfly challenge should I be warming up before I do these kind of routines? Like a jog or something, or can I just go into it right away

    • @goalietraining

      You can just start into it - just start a little easy. If you prefer to go for a jog or something, that is fine too.

    Hi Maria, do you use bare foot shoes?

    • @goalietraining
      @goalietraining  Рік тому

      I used to use the Vibram 5 Fingers - they got a little hard to find and sometimes the fit for my toes was off. I now use minimalist shoes - currently really liking the Merrell Trail Glove, they have a nice wide toe box.

    In the 90 90 when your going to the back foot or ankle. Are we concerned with keeping the fron leg bent and on the floor? Or we just keeping it in position as best we can?
