Then I will show you how to foam cannon your motorcycle to ger her clean. We will clay bar the bike, do some medium paint correction, Do an IPA wipe down, and then finally slide on a polymer sealant and then follow that up with a good coat of wax to seal it all in. Great video Steve. I appreciate this as it allows me to actually see the painstaking steps it takes to do a great detail. You made this bike look absolutely great. Now comparing this to my trike that you detailed, absolutely amazing! The trike had so much haze on it, it was embarrassing, but you brought it to life, just like you have done here. I thank you for that. Thanks for this videos, it’s a great help for guys like myself!

    Hey, this was my first attempt at detailing. The video helped me greatly. I followed the steps as laid out. It worked. The only problem I ran into was the polishing pads. Didn't realize they are different grit.

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes in the links I provided on this video I marked them as Medium and Finishing pads. Usually anything blue is a mediun pad and is a great place to start if you are really doing any kind of paint correction and the blacks are always finishing ...now that may vary between brands but 98% of the time its the same across brands.

My bike current looks just like yours did and I was told I’d have to go super abrasive or wet sand even, it’s vivid black and just has light swirls and smooth surface scratches all over. • @sikbaggers

      Ive tested a lot of waterless washes and to me its really all about the ease of use..I see some like the mcguires one I used to clay with on the ceramic video that is hard to get off...it seems like it just keeps smearing and smearing as you wipe..I use one from Killerwaxx called H2NO and its probably thr best Ive used...easy on, easy off, nice and thick so it sticks and starts soaking into the bugs...some of this stuff is just so watered down its ridiculous what they charge for it ,,,never tried flogenix but if its watery and runs off as youre spraying it...trash it and find something that sticks and has some hang time.

    Another great video. I have never owned a black Harley but friends do and while it looks great out of the showroom, that is usually as good as it will ever be.
    I have a 2021 Harley Street Glide in River Rock Grey & 2009 Harley Rocker C in Flame Blue Pearl, i never pressure wash but will wash with dish soap and mitt with garden hose. My 2009 still looks new and yes, i am the guy that washes after every ride even if it is just to get the bugs off, i hate a dirty bike but that just me :)

But now I can’t stand standing over my bikes for hours and hours detailing them. I wish I knew someone close that would do the job the way I do. I would gladly pay. awesome video as usual. I'll have to look through again but do have video for say new bike or bike without problems. but you probably would use same procedure.MY experience with last bike when I used the dual action buffer was the wax polish etc went everywhere. Have you tried any ceramic yet? Not looking for long lasting, seems like after a few washes it's mostly gone, but looking for ultimate gloss shine. Back in the day we used to wet sand and buff but thats gone the way with base coat clear coats0

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  2 роки тому

      Hey Jim...yes we have our cars and trucks ceramic coated but we havent done the bikes. I like to polish and wax my bikes..therapy for me if you will. Get yourself a foam pad and add 3 drops of whatever product your using and on the lowest setting work the product into the paint then gradually add speed and you wont sling it...I dont use the polisher for wax though...only polishing. You can but I like to lay my wax down in straight overlapping lines. I use the spray on P&S Bead Maker for a final high gloss shine. Its awesome. Your paint will feel like silk.

      making sure that you never ever dry wipe your bike. Always use a quick detailer or waterless wash to clean even a little dust off and use a clean microfiber. The quick detailer will lift the dust up into the microfiber and not just swirl it around on your clear coat. same as washing...always make sure your cleaning mitt is just that, clean. If it hits the ground..its trash.throw it away. Make sure you use a PH balanced soap so it doesnt strip away your wax. Dry it with either a blower or drying towel.

    • @sikbaggers

      The oils in the palstic degrade over time and dry out...that's where I use the Mother back to black. Now depending on how bad it is you will want to put that stuff on thick and let it sit. You may have to do this several times to ad the pills back into the plastic. Its like a lotion...just smear it on thick and let it sit for about an hour and wipe it off and repeat.

      Depends on if you are protecting the finish's with something like Rat Wax or DR. Beaslys wax...if so then use a ph balanced soap and for quick detailing a window cleaner that has NO AMMONIA. Ammonia will strip clear coat over time and paint...remember that matte/denim paint does have a matte clear coat over it. Its not just flat paint.

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  2 роки тому +2

      You can definitely get it back into shape with all this info here in this video with the time you have. The trick is keeping it in good shape then your weekly maintenance is very little. To get it back into shape get yourself a buffer and some compound, preferably the Last cut I mentioned in this video. that will get you back in shape quick. Then wax ...preferably that Colonite 845...that stuff lasts a long time and will help you keep that shine...the biggest thing you can do is never, ever wipe your bike with a dry cloth. Ever! Always use a waterless wash or a quick detailer and if its super dirty, spray. let it soak a little bit, spray again and then lightly wipe, flipping your towel over several times and even using more than one towel...If your towel is loaded up with dirt you are certainly scratching your clear coat. There are a ton of quick detailers out there and they all pretty much work the same to be honest. Every time you come in, give her a quick wipe down and that will keep you having to spend hours wiping her down all at one time.

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  10 місяців тому

      h2 no is a waterless wash.,.use it whenever you want to remove dirt bugs etc. Metal polish after you clean your bike...that can also be done anytime...it doesnt need to be in any certain order. whenever it needs it, use it. detail spray is just a touch up between waxes..again use it whenever you want. The wax needs to be used after you clean, polish (if it needs it) the process would go, H2NO to clean, polish chrome (if it needs it) clay bar before you polish, Polish, iso wipe to remove polish oils, wax, then touch up with h2no for heavy dirt bugs etc and/or hit with the detail spray for minir touch ups.

    I have a gloss black goldwing that has a lot of swirls in the clear coat. Will the Last Cut work for it? If so, what pad should I use? with it? Body parts are plastic.

      Hey Jimmie...sorry for the late reply here man...but start with a blue pad..thats a medium pad...and if its just clear coat scratches thats really all you need. ...you can follow up with a black finishing pad but really I never need to after using the last cut...because its the compound turns to polish as you go.
