    I love leaf gel. It was my first Japanese gel line and I love it. Currently wearing it now. ❤

    Thank you for making your videos on Japanese soft gels. I'm a DIY-er and wanted to start using Japanese gels, specifically builder gels. I don't have much experience with gels (I've only played around with dip powder). I don't want to become licensed, I would just like to use Japanese builder gel on myself at home. I'm not bothered with fancy nail art either, just simple builder gel overlay (with an occasional solid colour on top). I'm currently deciding between Leafgel and kokoist. I want to be safe so I'd like to learn the proper techniques, tools and products I will need to avoid allergies or damage to my nails/health. Do you recommend any courses I can take as a DIY-er to meet my needs? Thank you 🧡

      Yes definitely! I know every now and then Kokoist offers a "basic" course where you just learn more about their gel and how each products are use. But I don't think they are offering any at this time. Leafgel doesn't have any basic class only LvL courses and their lvl 1 class offers the basic from anatomy of nails to how to do a basic manicure with their colors. I'll try to look around and see if any available classes are being offer or you can def check both of their instagram. Sometimes they post it there. 🫶🫶

      @@pinkpineapplenails thank you so much for taking the time to respond! I'm so intrigued by Japanese gels but as I have no experience with gels in general, I'm a bit scared. I'll keep an eye out for DIY-friendly courses and try to educate myself as much as possible. Thanks again! Keep up the amazing content 🧡

    What specific things do you like about the leafgel system over the kokoist system? I’m a beginner and can’t decide which to go with. (I want to paint on my strong very short natural nails only.)

      Both are really good systems. The reason why I went with Leafgel was because it was the 2nd Japanese gel brand I dabbled in and compared to Vetro I liked it 10x better. So I started to invest in it, by the time I knew about Kokoist I was already invested in Leafgel. I didn't want to invest in 2 brands so I just went with Leafgel. I have some products of Kokoist but not a lot of their color line. I LOVE LOVE structure gels so those are the products I will invest in. So my opinion would be if you have strong nails Leafgel is pretty good - their structure gel is a soft gel and soaks off pretty easily. Now if you are more prone to lifting and nails are a little more problematic then I say go with Kokoist- due to their gel being semi-hard. But overall both brand are actually really good.

    What do they mean with wiping the matte top with cleanser? Do they mean strictly alcohol?

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  Рік тому

      Great question so with Leafgel they have 2 matte top and Rich matte requires you to wipe and only with nail prep because its doesn't have moisture. A lot of time gel cleanser has moisture and that doesn't work well with Rich Matte. If you are using alcohol I'd recommend using 99%. 😊😊

      @@pinkpineapplenails I had to check my stock, apparently I only have the bottled matte!! Mind blown!! Thanks so much for this info! I do have 96% alcohol, unfortunately they don’t go higher than that here as far as I’ve checked. I do love my LeafGel!! It’s my absolute favorite!!!

    Hiii, do you have to use the base when using the sculpting gel as well?

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  11 місяців тому

      When using Leafgel sculpting gel it is recommended to use a base coat, but if you prep your nails well enough you can def get away with not using base gel. Now if you are seeing lifting issues with your sculpting gels then I recommend using a base gel. Base gel just create that middle layer between your natural nail and the sculpting gel. Each brand is different when it comes to base gels. Hope this helps. 😊
