      Paola Ponce Nails I’ve been so set on hard gels and I had such a bad experience using soft gels in school that it hadn’t even crossed my mind until I found your channel a little while back.

    • @PaolaPonceNails
      @PaolaPonceNails  4 роки тому +2

      They are different. Light elegance is good, but use it with other hard gel systems, not Japanese gel nail systems (they are soft gel). Madam glam is a soft gel, but I would not recommend mixing it with Jap Gel.

    • @PaolaPonceNails
      @PaolaPonceNails  4 роки тому

      You mean colors? Usually Japanese gels are pigmented to be for art. If you mean line work. Use vetro's "star" system and 3 OR 4 'star' texture is great for art. 2 stars are good for ombres.

    Between all 3 which 1 would you invest in 1st? I currently use light elegance & synergy gels by yn. Only own 2 vetro leaf gels lol

    • @PaolaPonceNails
      @PaolaPonceNails  4 роки тому

      If I was a beginner at Jap gels, and had to choose one brand for ALL of my prod needs..... Leafgel, second Vetro, 3rd Koko. Just me personally, though!!
      Consider shipping costs too.
      Mixing and matching among these brands is ok, but NOT in the beginning. Explore clear gels from one brand first before moving to the next. Later down the line you can mix use of gels.
      Also if you continue using Light Elegance and YN I would only invest in colors and use them over your overlays. Do not mix your Jap gel clear gels with hard gels. Not compatible.

    A little research because of my niece asked turned a little overboard and now im so confused lol. I want to buy something I can use on my nails and my nieces without destroying them. (So far I've kept her at bay by doing gel polish to get to not pick and grow them out). I have soft nails that I can grow but they don't last, they always break. Gel in the past didnt last and always lifted then I pick at them, maybe my nails are too soft?? Anyway I want to try kokoist or leafgel but don't know which is best for me and maybe my niece if she asks for some type of tip. :(

    Great video! I wish I had watched this before last week (I know it was just published today). I am a hobbyist, so I just do my own nails, and I used a variety of soft gel products and really wanted to try japanese gels after seeing your videos. I bought Kokoist Platinum Bond Duo thinking it would help my manicure last longer, but according to this video it might not be the best for long lasting nails, correct? Right now I have a soft gel mani that I did almost 2 weeks ago with cheap gels, and I have no lifting or chipping. Was this kokoist product a good purchase? I usually like my manicure to last 2 to 3 weeks :) thank you! Edit to add: I have not tried the kokoist product yet, as I received it a few days ago.

    • @PaolaPonceNails

      There are 2 products. Platinum Bond II and Platinum Bond Duo.
      Bond II is the thin one. If you already bought it, no prob just apply 2 layers.
      Bond Duo is the thicker one.
