This is great, I have just started growing. I went one step further and setup 1Kw of Solar and 300Ah of batteries. To run 24 5w 120mm fans, 12 lights, and a heat pump. The fans run 24/7 and the lights and heat pump run off the Solar during the day, and if I need to increase temperature at night, the batteries have plenty of power for this.
Great video! @1:38 I am going to start approaching some of the local businesses to see if there is an interest in microgreens. I live in a BIG urban city (zone 6) and there are some farmers markets that are pretty active during the summer months. I am thinking to maybe sell at the farmers markets during the busy period then try the stores and restaurants in the colder months. I found your channel through your (12:17) podcast. I "BINGE-LISTED" to your podcasts and finished them ALL! Thank you for sharing all your expertise.
Great video, thanks Brian :-) I particularly loved how excited you got about growing those popcorn shoots in your cupboard 😂 it made my day. You were like a boy showing his ma a shiny rock he found.
Hi Brian, listen to all podcast for the second time...thank you for all the contents and interviews they are very informative and helpful. I notice you have not posted new content for a while but can't find a reason anywhere. Can we expect any news from you, how is going for business. Take care
Hey Brian, thanks for this and the podcast. This video is wonderful to show a small, manageable setup. I wondered how you handled hand washing and keeping everything clean? I was thinking I needed separate hand wash station and sink, but you seem to be getting by okay without that in the room. Cheers
@@TheTriciaLife Quite! I was thinking more form a point of environmental health guidance and getting visits as a registered local food producer. My understanding is only from trying to wrap my head around the guidance for the UK. Any real world experience (like this video) is very interesting and additional info is most welcome!
Hi Brian, This is very helpful. I think our biggest challenge right now is organizing the planting schedule. We LOVE the idea of the colored dots on the trays, and I couldn't get a good enough look at your calendar. Do you know where we can get something similar to that, or could you share a link to this, or have any suggestions on how to organize the calendar / planting schedule like yours? Thank you!!
Hi Brian, would you invest in an Air Purifier to reduce the mold spore amount with a fan? Or would a fan be sufficient? I have a rudimental 6 tray set up right now but I'm doubling in size soon and considering some clean air solutions.. what do you think?
Do you have carpet on the floor or did you take it up , i'm turning my dining room into a grow room but it has carpet on the floor or, can i put plastic over the floor , what would you suggest ?
Hi Chris, you can sell them in many places. I mainly sell them to restaurants, but also to grocery stores, and directly to people. Have a look at my podcast, there are some episodes about this microgreensentrepreneur.com/podcast
This deserves a like, comment and subscribe.
Nice Brian. Though the space is small, your plan is wonderful, you have organised everything without the space. Happy business. God bless you. 🌺👍👏🌺
