I so admire that you released that Beast. Thank you for ensuring our future Anglers to have the opportunity to experience what it's like. Thank you again and good job and great catch!!!
Here in Maryland, Blue Catfish are invasive and you are instructed to keep all of them. They taste great and the white meat is safe to eat occasionally.
It’s so good that you let the super big ones go after catching. They wouldn’t be good eating and the number of super big really old fish have dwindled over the years with over-fishing. It’s good that these elder fish are still around to do their job of cleaning up the bottom of dirty rivers and streams all throughout the south. Good job guys! Respect!
*I already own the Battle II combo **enjoyable.fishing** recommend and decided to try a Fierce II combo to carry out to the pier. Works great and for the money they are hard to beat.*
Nice fish boys. You've got a story to tell around the fire pit for years...years. Kuddos to you two gents for putting it back in the water - to breed and spawn fish your kids can catch. That's a day on the river deserving of a cold beer and a glass of whiskey
You brought out a really key point in this video that lots of people overlook when hunting for big catfish. I'll be posting my own stuff soon, but not just for catfish only. It will be all species of Bass, Trout & Musky on lures and flies. In December I'm upgrading my Sea Eagle inflatable from the SE-9 I've had to their 126 SR Model--awesome boat for smaller/bigger waters...our special needs son is super excited :)
Man, when that double hit, I lost control! My smile went from ear to ear!!! I lost it and I was there, on that boat!!! living it with y'all!!!! Awesome fellas!!! Just awesome!!! I have NEVER hooked anything that size!!! EPIC!!! And all that on a 'wet noodle' of a rod! Just WOW@!!!!
When you landed that monster I thought of the quote from "JAWS", "we need a bigger boat". Nice job and many thanks for returning those great fish back for the future to enjoy, not to mention saving all the great genes.
I fished the Ouachita River in N.E. La for years for these Blues and Opps (Flathead).. I've missed a couple in this range, but my biggest was about 45 lbs.. I always tell people they can HAVE bass fishing, there's nothing like multiple rods and the mystery of how big that catfish will be when it breaches.. They're a great fight.. BTW, we've always called that underwater geography you're fishing a cut bank.. Basically, a deep pool on the outer edge of a turn in the river cut away by years of current and debris.. ALWAYS ups your chances for big catfish..
I used to fish and swim the Missouri when I was stationed at Offutt. I'm glad to see you released that giant. He deserved to live out his life. That thing was probably 18 years old. Good job.
We are so glad that take down was captured - I don't think there was any other way to get that captured but to have another fish already on and the cameras already going! Thanks again for the support!
Lol, Man, people who don’t wear crocs fishing don’t fish enough. Stand on a casting deck for 12 hours bare foot in the south or with shoes. Neither is desirable. Crocs are best of both, not hot and provide shade. Function over fashion my friend
Catfish are one species that can actually last a good bit. I think the biggest thing in this case would be the revival before releasing, which they did.
Very awesome. I keep going back and watching this video. I hope I get one of them that big or bigger. Definitely on my bucket list. Down here in Kansas river and Missouri river area. Congratulations again.
Much respect for letting that monster go. Something that big has earned the right to keep on keeping on. Thank you.
You’re exactly right 👍
100 percent just got a 60 pounder on the Missouri couldn’t imagine keeping it let it get bigger
"I'll one hand your rod" not the best choice of words lmao! Nice video!!!

Fishing is respecting your prey :)
I agree. I release everything. I enjoy the sport and comrade of fishing.
Thumbs up for release!
You can't eat it...unless you like cancer.

If someone don't think that's exciting, then they must not like fishing. That is amazing, great job guys :)
Thanks Michael!

When you landed that monster I thought of the quote from "JAWS", "we need a bigger boat".

That fish would be between 25 to 30 years old with their growth rate.
@@NorthwoodsAngling I thought blue cats only lived 20 years?
@@douglasmcmillion Depends what study you ready, most will say over 25, some say up to 20. I believe the fish that were aged show some up to 30
@@NorthwoodsAngling well how ever old, ive never seen anything like that.

+Danny Heath Schwab Thanks Danny!
that is a MONSTER! Biggest I've caught on the missouri was a 25 pound blue. Y'all killed it!
No digital scale? maaaan. Wonder what it actually weighed.
If you do the math for calculating weight. It was 118lbs
I like how you keep it real reminds me and my brother fishing together
I caught a 107 lbs pounder at the same spot
+msrosebud1973 Boom!
msrosebud1973
It might have been the same fish.
No pic no fish
msrosebud1973 yeah sure
Who would make such a claim, and hadn't caught one. Well done Rosebud.
LUKE IS A BEAST !!!! NICE CATCH!!!!!
How long can cats survive out of water that first one just laid on the deck
Catfish are one species that can actually last a good bit. I think the biggest thing in this case would be the revival before releasing, which they did.
Probably because it was in a river so we just faced its mouth into the current
ive been told 3 days i know for a fack three hours
Much longer than most fish I wouldn't say hours they are tough their skin is like leather but you have to remember to keep the slime coat wet
EpicRcs12 a couple hours
Awesome job guys. That fish is incredible. Get a small saddle and give children rides lol. Keep up the good work.
